Gotta agree with James Woods.....trolling. We need to let this thread die so this troll stops giggling about how he/she 'manipulated the apostates.'

If you are reading this title, everything you know needs to be questioned
by King Solomon inthe title of this thread is like one of those bumper stickers, "if you can read this, you are too close".
it's true: if you are reading this, you accepted certain assumptions in the past, or need to do so.. the jws deliver a well-honed message that is targeted to individuals who's prior experiences and psyche makes them pre-disposed to accept their version of reality; attending meetings is really just a way for individuals to correct their thinking so as to be more in accord with the beliefs of the group.
btw, the process of aligning one's thinking to a group is not inherent evil, eg doctors attend continuing education courses so they can stay abreast with their colleagues in new findings of research, thus enabling them to deliver the best possible care to their patients, not practicing using turn-of-the-century ideas (blood-sucking leeches, etc).. however, when it comes to religion and faith, accepting assumptions into one's world view without critically-analysis leads one to a conclusion that may be flawed.

@King Solomon
Nah I don't have the tendency to cave to social pressure in most regards. I refuse to be disfellowshipped again so I have to front but I think that's somewhat different.
My wife is chronicly ill and when I was reaching out I had people hint/suggest the course I outlined. My father in law in particular. His wife suffers from many ills and he leaves her to deal with it by herself constantly. She just needs to feel loved and worthwhile. But no....This past weekend she was in so much pain and isn't allowed pain meds at this time until the source is diagnosed. He works about 70 hrs a week and Saturday's are his only time he can go in field service. So his words to me over a beer Friday were that the brothers need to see him out and she will be ok. She is not ok. She is not needy or clingy or whatever. It would just be a basic human decency and when we go visit her while they are off JWing she is so appreciative and relieved. So I was kinda venting against him.

After further reflection I think I kinda missed the intent of this thread.....but oh well.....people shouldn't be douchy just to look good to the other people in the congregation. Just be cool.

If your wife is sick or in some way in need of your kindly consideration and it happens to be a Saturday morning you should NOT leave her at home while you make sure "the brothers" see you in service. Take care if your wife bro. God expects us to afford people dignity, honor, respect and love. Not to kick them to the curb cuz it's CO visit, special campaign, Saturday, meeting night, family worship evening etc....

New Light on Blood Fractions
by The Searcher infrom the hlc - not a letter from hq - why not?it is felt that because people don't know what to accept and what to say 'no' to, brothers and sisters are saying 'no' to everythying, and this is just wrong!they want brothers to know that not only is blood sacred, but also life is sacred.
the implication is, that if you say no to fractions, you could be viewing life as not sacred, and that if you do not have a good reason that you can explain, you should not say 'no' to things.
and they are no longer using the term "blood fractions" - they are to be called "blood derivatives", because the substance is so small.whatever happened to leviticus 17:13?

I don't know how to post documents to the forum. But I have a KM insert that is similar to the one Blondie linked to. I can email it to someone if they want to make it available here.

I'm sorry to sound like Debbie Downer but in video 2, I don't think the lady asking Ms. Conti questions has done any background research or briefing on the case. Her questions were a waste of time if she had just done the slightest bit of preparation.
Great to see and hear Ms. Conti tho.

Sleep trouble - any tips??
by Super_Becka inargh, i'm a little on the frustrated side right now, so i'm looking for some help.. i'm usually quite good at getting lots of sleep, i'm usually in bed at a decent hour in the night and can usually get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night (more on the weekends, of course), but for the last week or so, i've been having some trouble sleeping.
a scattered night of sleeplessness can be expected from time to time, but it's been about 10 days now, that's a little excessive.
i do all of my usual things during the day - classes, homework, chores, cooking, cleaning, errands - and i never nap during the day, i avoid all forms of caffeine after 5pm, and i always go to bed feeling like it's time for me to go to sleep, i'm usually tired at bedtime, but lately, it's been taking me forever to get to sleep.

Sex always helps me go to sleep. I strongly recommend it as a primary sleep aid.

The transformation into cult religion: Jehovah's Witness empire in 15 steps
by Terry inthere are only 15 steps from a widely scattered readership of 2nd adventist speculations published by pastor russell into a world wide monolithic control cult.. it reads like a machievellian discourse of absolute power:.
1. nine years after the death of pastor russell his publishing company was being operated by an editorial committee which would review articles pre-publication for the watchtower society.. in 1925 the president of this society (rutherford) offered up an article of extreme controversy.
it was titled the birth of the nation.
