I'm sorry for what you must be going through. For me, the saddest part was leaving behind the myth that I was actually loved for who I was. I don't find JW families all that they are cracked up to be, especially the so-called exemplary ones. In the end, they turn out to be the most dysfunctional.

In the end, for me, it doesn't really hurt. The love I thought was there wasn't, so what loss is it if you lose what you never had?

Ok. So maybe I just lie to myself to make myself feel better. Yeah, it hurts, but maybe not as bad as you think.

Anyway, on a lighter note, i'm going to highjack your thread with another Rod Stewart song. I like his older stuff. Cheer up and have a laugh.

As far as the pumpkins go, they've done their farewell dates in Canada (what a disappointing show that was), they are over in Europe doing a farewell tour over there, after which they will finish off in the US, lastly which will be the small club in Chicago where they did their first gig.

I am smiling right now Frenchy. If you wrote this you are quite brilliant and have spent many years thinking. I'm not much of a reader. 3/4 of a bottle of wine were drank while reading this. I've been disturbed since reading the last work.

But being disturbed for me is never taken to be a bad thing. To have the foundations of who i am, and what i base all my beliefs on shaken, only then do i proceed to the next level.

Throughout i was wondering why you called it "children", and only towards the end did that title make sense.

There is so much to think about. So many ways of looking at things. So many possibilities. I thank you for sharing. I'm grateful for freedom.

And if a request for a sequal led to a sequal, then I request a sequal again.

Feeling sorry...

...for the average jw as i see them out in door to door work.

i shake my head and think; they just don't know.

or maybe they do, but are in a dilemma similar to thousands if not millions right now.

I feel bad too. Driving by a KH and seeing all the cars parked. Or seeing some people "in the field".

Its not that I don't think what they are doing is bad, or that they shouldn't be free to do what they are doing. Its that they never considered all sides to the story.

You are fortunate to have the support of your family. And you should be proud of yourself for having the "balls" to do what needed to be done. In the end, it comes down to the individual. My thanks as well to all who had the courage to share and help someone else.

hello friends,.

in a thread over at witnesses.net entitled "society bracing for law suits" fellow jw's are taking swipes at ray franz.

not too long ago, while i was still under the wt spell i also would have similarily spoken abusively of ray.

The WTBTS teaches Jehovah's Witnesses to be like this. It's in their articles - the same wording - the same hatred and disgust.

While I believe this is true, I believe also that the Public Affairs Dept. is trying to cut down on this sort of perception.

What you have more so these days is Witnesses still influenced by past outspokeness and policies. I would think the Society would these days prefer a quiet understanding regarding specific individuals such as Ray Franz, while publically condemning specific actions by "opposers" such as in Georgia.

This anti-Ray Franz sentiment loudly expressed on these "Witness" forums would not be what the Society wants. It actually makes us appear more cult-like and is "counterproductive" in the sense that more people will actually read his books out of curiosity.

These anti-Ray Franz comments demonstrate well, the misinformation, gossip, and paranoia that exists in the organization.
