  Marriage Consummation - emailed question has me stumped

  i received an email from a jw that got married, but the wife never had sex with him.

  they were together for a period of years.

  he told the elders, but they said there was nothing that could be done.

  It's a tricky one. Elders, CO's and service desks have an aversion to this scenario, understandably.

  The signing of the papers seals the marriage. There is no way around that. As far as then breaking it for non-con, I have seen situations where the elders breath a sigh of relief if the "performing" spouse just gets it over with with someone else. They may or may not be DF'ed depending on how big of a performance they put on in the JC. A performance is good because then the "annulment" can take place without anyone getting DF'ed. Everyone's a winner! The elders end up feeling justified in doing what they "naturally feel is right" even though the Bible doesn't really make allowance for it in relation to 21st century law.

  The Liason commitee for Blood

  three plus years ago i had an experience that started to open my eyes to ttatt and it was about blood.

  my wife was 9 months pregnant with my son and the baby was too big for us to have it at home with the assistance of a midwife.

  at the hospital we met with the doctor and it was obvious that a c section was a possibility as well, again do to the size of the baby.

  Cofty - "Unacceptable" to whom?

  I am not obliged to respond to every comment. I have ignored comments that were just rude or meaningless. I have ignored comments that are simply trying to draw out responses that can be misused. I believe that I have operated entirely within the rules of the forum (unlike some of the vulgar and angry speech that has featured on this thread). So in what way is that unacceptable?

  Simon gets a prize, cos on this site he is god. He has power over our continued forum existence and does take action when required. And that’s as close to heaven as we’ll ever be. TG

  And if I were to form an opinion of what Simon is like as a person simply from the limited actions I have observed during this discussion I might reach certain conclusions. Would I be right?

  Elvis lives in me. You can't prove he doesn't. It's a mystery. I insist you accept it unless you can prove it's false. Simon

  You are right that I can't prove it. Therefore I will not claim that there is a logical proof that it is impossible. I will simply treat the information in accord with my value system of whether it is likely/important or not. In this case I would simply ignore it.

  I haven't asked anyone to accept a belief in God at any time in this conversation, let alone insisted on such acceptance.

  The one insisting we accept something is Cofty, in case you haven't noticed after all this time.
