After all your vitriolic protestations against the idea that we might not know everything, and that some of what we might not know might have a bearing on the subject under discussion, you recently posted on your other thread:
Living with unanswered questions is human. What we ought to avoid is pretending to know things we can't know.
If our belief is commensurate with the evidence and beyond that we can say, "I don't know" we are being reasonable.

Your words are always so refereshing. It is an unlikely forum for someone to so frequently inject such moments of grace. And yet you keep them coming. Please never stop posting your elegant words.
I miss Leolaia very much for her tremendous clarity and depth of research. If you were ever to go, I would very much miss you for your genuinely heartfelt feeling and awesome style.

If You Got a Call or Visit From The Elders How Would You Deal With Them?
by minimus injust curious..

It depends on several variables:
1) your status in the congregation and personal circumstances.
2) the supposed purpose of the visit.
3) the "modus operandi" of the local elder body.
4) what you want the outcome to be.
There may be more, but that was a quick off the top of my head list.
All other things being equal, mainly just be polite and say nothing of consequence.
However if they are good God-fearing men, and you have a situation they might be able to help with, then don't dismiss the possibility that they might be able to do just that. But, as with most things in life, proceed with caution.

Marriage Consummation - emailed question has me stumped
by jwfacts ini received an email from a jw that got married, but the wife never had sex with him.
they were together for a period of years.
he told the elders, but they said there was nothing that could be done.

It's a tricky one. Elders, CO's and service desks have an aversion to this scenario, understandably.
The signing of the papers seals the marriage. There is no way around that. As far as then breaking it for non-con, I have seen situations where the elders breath a sigh of relief if the "performing" spouse just gets it over with with someone else. They may or may not be DF'ed depending on how big of a performance they put on in the JC. A performance is good because then the "annulment" can take place without anyone getting DF'ed. Everyone's a winner! The elders end up feeling justified in doing what they "naturally feel is right" even though the Bible doesn't really make allowance for it in relation to 21st century law.

The Liason commitee for Blood
by Crazyguy inthree plus years ago i had an experience that started to open my eyes to ttatt and it was about blood.
my wife was 9 months pregnant with my son and the baby was too big for us to have it at home with the assistance of a midwife.
at the hospital we met with the doctor and it was obvious that a c section was a possibility as well, again do to the size of the baby.

... so we met with a sister from the JW liaison committee ...
I thought all HLC are men. Perhaps she was indeed a fraud.

This thread was supposedly against God on the basis that if he existed he would be inconsistent with his own rules.
- Dr. Steve: [to Homer] Simpson! You're not a licensed chiropractor, and you're stealing patients from me and from Dr. Steffi.
- Homer: Boy, talk about irony. The AMA tries to drive you guys out of business, now you're doing the same to me. Think about the irony.
- Dr. Steve: [grabs Homer by the collar] You've been warned. Stop chiropracting.
- Homer: Not unless you think about the irony.

Correct. Now what if I followed you round telling you about the glory of Elvis and how Elvis was wonderful and how you too should believe in Elvis.
Wouldn't you get tired of hearing it?
That's you that is. Simon
Simon - Show me one single quote where I have said that God was wonderful and/or that you should believe in him.
Baseless invented rhetoric.

So it's okay to be delibrately crude and offensive just so long as you can imagine something more crude and offensive. Good point. Well you'll keep S&R happy. It is 2014 after all.

S&R - you should probably just stick to commenting on which page # we've reached. All your comments that I've seen are unecessary, but at least those are accurate and somewhat informative (for those who cannot be bothered to scroll).
