  an english court of law active in the tudor and early stuart periods, abolished by the long parliament in 1641. an outgrowth of the royal council, it was made up of privy councilors as well as judges and supplemented the activities of the common-law and equity courts in both civil and criminal matters.

  initially well regarded because of its speed and flexibility, star chamber became unpopular as the stuart kings used it with increasing arbitrariness to enforce the royal prerogative.

  My sister-in-law just got d/fed....she wasn't even there for it. She wasn't told the charges against her, she wasn't told who the witnesses against her were, she wasn't allowed to bring anyone along to represent or support her. In an age of justice it is difficult to believe that this kind of thing still goes on isn't it?

  Of course this violates several of her rights under the Constitution, but I'm not sure a court would care on ruling as to whether the Bible trumps the Bill of Rights, but it might be worth a suit.

  ok, i don't see a problem with having a homosexual person looking after a child, but this quote caught my attention:.

  (1) Okay, first off, I don't know this guy. Is he with NAMBLA? Nor do I know when and in what context he spoke. If he's with them, he's the Marinus van der Lubbe of the gay community. Van der Lubbe was a demented Communist and pyromaniac who bragged he'd burned several buildings in Germany and was going to try the Reichstag (their Congress) next--and the Nazis, intent on doing the same thing (Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich) as a sham pretext to seizing power, found him as much a godsend to their purposes as Focus on the Family must find Swift.

  (2) And they're taking it without resistance from the boys? Hah!

  (3) In many of these places men, not boys, are found; how many 15 year olds do you expect to find in a seminary or an Army bunkhouse?

  As Xander pointed out, the membership of NAMBLA is microscopic compared to the GLBT population as a whole. Few in the community defend them. They're what makes us unable to call Dr. Laura a complete paranoid. They blacken many people's reputations and don't care at all.

  twilight zone episode?

  anyone into twilight zone...im not sure if it was twilight zone that i saw when i was still a kid..and im wanting to know if such an episode i remember do exist... episode was about a family living in a dollhouse or some sort and they had symbols written on their bodies, clothes, and even their appliances...then they were trying to get out of their house like digging and digging but all they found were the same symbols written on them..they were dolls i think...

  To many people, HIV and AIDS are synonomous. If this educates people that they are separate stages and a person isn't an "untouchable" because of it, more power to them.

  The program is aimed at children from 3 to 7 and the messages delivered by the new character will be "appropriate," said Schneider, meaning that there will be no explicit mention of sex.

  Doesn't have to be all the time. Drug users get it, as well as newborn children while still in their mother's wombs. There's enough prejudice in the world about a lot of things; I say if this can educate the next generation about respect for people with HIV or AIDS then I'm all for it.

  I do believe she lost a court case where an ex-assistant sued her for sexual harassment and $850,000 judgment was made against Nicole. Whether that defines her sexual orientation, it is hard to say.

  ANS could've made lewd comments about men, or just talked in a sexually degrading way about someone/thing, and if it creates a "hostile work environment" that would be enough to start a suit.

  i think i'd go with sherlock holmes (attention to detail and analytical ability) or captain nemo (freedom to explore).. incidentally sherlock holmes is based on a real person.

  hi, i'm 17 and i've just recently become a member of this website and i want you to know what has happened to me over the past months.back in sep/oct 2001 i started chatting to a 20 year old bloke via the internet and we developed a great friendship over the net.we would talk online for ages,text and phone each other loads,we sent each other photos of ourselves and he would often put his webcam on for me to see.before i knew it he played a great part in my everyday life...and i spent so much time chatting to him that my college work suffered a lot & i wasn't doing my coursework (i eventually got told to leave as i hadn't done loads of the assignments and stuff & had fallen behind).

  after about 6 months we arranged to meet up (i made sure my parents were at home coz i know it's dodgy to meet people from the internet).anyway,he came round my house one evening in march and we got along soo well...he lives quite locally too which was good.our friendship then grew into a relationship and we started dating and going out together,i was sooo happy and i fell for him in a massive way & he said he felt the same way too.to me,he was a girls dream come true...he was kind,caring,fit,good-looking & gentle and i loved him to bits!,i still do,and i thought we'd be together forever.

  something that i did find a bit strange though was i hadn't met his family yet or heard my boyfriend talk much about them.i would question him about his family but he seemed to get a bit funny about it and when i mentioned about meeting his family he said something along the lines of ''they're a bit strange,you might not like them'' (or something like that anyway).that got me thinking and i though prehaps they lived in a run-down place or something,or they wern't very nice people and i thought my b/f could be ashamed to let me meet them.i thought to myself to give him time & he'll see that i'm an understanding & nice person and hoped that he would soon come out and tell me what the problem was (thinking it was about what i've just mentioned).

  Hitting ENTER works for me when I want to start a new paragraph. If I want to put a new one in fron of this one, I hit HOME and the ENTER. Then I can either use the UP arrow key or click on the line I want with the mouse.
