I don't have a personal experience, but i know of a family who reported of weird noises in their home, so they thought an object in their home had demons. So they decided to throw away everything in their home which was given to them by other people.

my non jw husband and i went to disneyland and bought my young daughter a set of 7 dwarf toys.
after a few months i felt guilty and threw them away, thinking they were demonized.

Sick article in the WT library!!
by ILoveTTATT inthis is one of the saddest articles in the wt library... just two years after the organ transplant ban... a jw decided to not donate a perfectly good kidney because of this doctrine... which was changed in 1980. .
*** w69 11/15 p. 701 appreciating jehovahs protection ***.
a difficult decision.

And how the hell is that "appreciating jehovahs protection?
Well evidently Jehoober protected the young patient from a properous and long life, and instead gave him the protection of just dying.
Aren't we happy that Jehoober continues to protects us in wonderfull ways? Clap! Clap! Clap!

What if Jehovah's Kingdom really became a Kingdom?
by SonoftheTrinity ini mean what if a government decided to internally deport its jehovah's witnesses and give them their own independent country.
"here, since you say we are of satan, we're giving you a few square miles so lets see how much better a job your theocracy does, and this way you can't spread your religion.
" i'm surprised russia didn't try that.

It would most likely be one of the most poor and backwards countries in the world. A group of uneducated people with basic manual skills. Where are the doctors? Teachers? Engineers?
Who will run the powerplants? Wait...who will build them? WHo will be qualified to be the entrepreneurs who will drive the economy? Nobody
A country without an infrastructure to support modern living. You want to see what it would be like? Go take a look at the amish.

Is the Bible just as fake as the JW's
by BackSlider init seems that the more i research, the more i find that it's all just a big scam.
is there any evidence that even the bible isn't just another big religion/government scam?
would we listen to putin or obama if they told us they have verified new holy writings?

There isn't any "good" advice found in the Bible that didn't already exist in other cultures long before the Bible was written.
Are you saying that when the bible came out with "Don't Kill" and "Don't Steal", it wasn't completely revolutionary? Aww damn..

Convention Season-"Saving Good Seats" & Other Embarrassing Behavior
by Darth Fader The Sequel insince it is the convention season (and i am not attending this year or ever again), and i have been seeing other posts about some of the goings on at the various ic's and rc's, i am reminded of some of the truly embarrassing behavior i have "witnessed" (pun intended) over my lifetime of being a jdub at the various conventions and assemblies.
probably the most disillusioning experience at a convention that i have ever had was one year when i volunteered to be an attendant.
all of the volunteers were asked to attend a special meeting a few months beforehand to get instructions for our duties as attendants.

That's what is going to happen in pariah-dise. When Jehoober resurrects people, they will begin running to the best real estate spots so they can claim the best locations. I'm sure the spots up on the hills will be the first ones to go, because it gives you the best vantage point so you can observe the cheetahs playing with deer, and watch a lion massage a sheep.

New marketing ideas for JW.ORG merchandise!?!?
by stuckinarut2 inperhaps this should be in the humor /jokes section....but oh well...here goes.. (some of our more tech savy forum members may know to upload images to help out?).
so how about these ideas for jw.org merchandise?
or as some tacky gifts as handed out at the international conventions?.

There are already several companies who are capitalizing on marketing to the JW world.
One of the most famous one for example is http://www.ministryideaz.com/

If END is Imminent, Why Witness in Silence in Public Places?
by ProfCNJ inwe were taught for 100 years that the end or armageddon is imminent, as if it is coming in a hurry.
but look now at the new way of sharing god's kingdom in uk which i find as a complete irony.
"thousands have switched tactics to stand on street corners in more than a dozen cities across britain - and unusually for public preachers, they are staying almost completely silent... unlike other evangelical preachers, they do not shout or call attention to themselves - instead standing in near-silence until someone approaches them."http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2691254/how-jehovahs-witnesses-got-street-smart-believers-swap-infamous-doorstepping-standing-outside-train-stations-shops.html.

These are common now in NYC.
On Sunday i was on Central Park West and i saw a cart with two sistahz, and they were surrounded by what seemed like a group of asian tourists, who were obviously intrigued by the cart with books.
In reality this always happened. I recall always seeing a few JWs in high traffic areas just standing there holding a few mags waiting for someone to pick them up. The only differentce is that the rest of JWs used to look down at them as being lazy. Now its accepted, and they also have a cart.

Firstly, these were not false prophets, they were sincere christians who wished the end of this system of things, so their desire led them to set some wrong dates
So who exactly was guiding these "sincere Christians" in writing these things? They claimed it was Jehovah - is this true?
In fact, hasn't the Watchtower society always claimed throughout the years that everything it teaches has the approval of Jehovah , despite never being accurate? What conclusions can we take from this, about the teachings of the Watchtower today? How reliable are they in light of their history?
Food for thought...

Number two- I heard from eyewitnessess that their were actual fist fights at the gates for seats. Nooo not just pushing and shoving but fist fights?????
Not sure if this is true, but truly hope that it is and that someone was smart enough to capture this on their phones. It would be one of the most amazing JW videos ever. Imagine, two JWs cursing and punching at each other in suits and ties.

Shouldn't the WTBTS have more than 7 million followers after 140 years of preaching?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inafter 140 years of preaching and millions of books, magazines, and tracts, all the wtbts has to show is a measly 7 million members.
the mormons, baptists, pentecostals and many other religions have more members without the preaching work.. in your opinion, is 7 million members way too many for all the odd beliefs, doctrines and practices ?
or, should be more members since they have had over 140 years of being in the religion business?.
-
redvip2000
Only goes to show what a colossal waste of time preaching really is. Now, how many of these 7 million came to the brotherhood because of actual preaching? I'm gonna guess less than 20 percent.
Now you start seeing how idiotic this "Most important work ever done" really is.
