We all know how the Watchtower works. By using words such as "logically", "evidently", "clearly", "obviously" they leave an escape route so that in the future they can say that they never said it "definetely" would happen...

wow.. clearly illegal to post names of people in this manner, especially as they categorize them as they do. Clearly not the work of the Watchtower, as their lawyers would never allow this type of material to be posted.
Horrible work too - full of typos and badly assembled sentences.

this is how the society operates my friend. They work through suggestive messages, innuendos and analogies. They never outright force these type of things, so they can't be accused of breaking up families, etc. They don't say " JWs are forbidden to speak to their disfellowshipped family members" . Instead they will say " how do you think Jehovah feels when you speak to someone who doesn't love him?" They work by induction, not by prohibition.

It took me a long time to write this...i'm staying.
by MsGrowingGirl20 init took me a long time to write this....i'm being brutally honest...i am still a reg pioneer...three sundays ago,i was praying and asking god for a sign or something because i was so confused...i told him exactly what i needed to see for me to believe.i was feeling terrible--crying and feeling sick because i was so confused.ten minutes after, i walked into the kingdom hall and to my surprise--my prayer was answered!
i soooo wasn't expecting it, even though i prayed.
so this is where almighty god wants me to be,ii've reasoned.

Let's put aside the fact that you never explained how your prayer was answered....i mean you say you have been praying and then walked in the KH and your prayers was answered? ok?
In any case, it seems that for you it all boils down to the fact that Jehovah Witnesses preach door to door. And while this can't be denied, on what basis can you say that "Jehovah is OBVIOUSLY blessing the preaching work"? In what manner?
I ask because facts are facts. And the facts tell us, that in over 100 years or preaching, the total number of JWs is only 7 million. This is blessing? Even the mormons which also preach, have 14 millions members in the same amount of time, with less hours spent preached. Who's getting blessed?
Look around in your kingdom hall, and one by one try to identify who became a JW because of door to door preaching, and who became a JW because of normal informal witnessing (friends, family). Once you do this, you will realize, like me, that perhaps 2 out of every 100 JWs were actually formally preached to. Again, hardly a blessed work.
With that said, i wish you the best. Remember, no one is saying that God won't reward some JWs, but there is no evidence he will destroy everyone that isn't - on the contrary.
I can go live in Pakistan, and endure their rules and perhaps even have a normal life, raise a family, have a house and nice life. But wouldn't i want to have that same life, in a free country where i can be my own individual and express myself ?

any truth 2 Russell funded by Rothchilds
by mind blown inis any of this true?
historian, historian, david icke states, "...it was the rothschilds who funded the jehovah's witness operation into being, along with other illuminati bankerz (ie, kuhn, loeb, and co.), through "contributionz" by organizationz like the rothschild-controlled b'nai b'rith.
this was proved in a court of law in 1922. one of the key people involved in this was frank goldman who later became president of b'nai b'rith.

@Old Goat ""redvip, All of that is wild speculation with no basis in FACT. The Russells were a protestant Irish family from Londonderry, Ireland. They were not German. Russell had no connection to Skull and Bones. Russell's uncle's will details the Londonderry connection, and at the time of the uncle's death there were still relations living in Derry. Russell was educated in Grant School in Pittsburgh, graduating from the Common School system then in use at the end of the seventh-grade. He had further education from a system of tutors sponsored by the YMCA who provided advanced courses for young men. All of this can be documented from available records"" 1 - I didnt say the Russells were from Germany. I said his family (as in ancestry) was originally a Germany Ashkenazi Jew family. The original name was Roessel. The family moved to the British Isles where, obviously for you, their history starts... 2 - I didn't say Charles Russel had a connection with the Skull and bones society. I said a family member started it. I'm not going to sit here and convince you of this, as this is well documented.

I've never found any evidence that this is true. It was initally funded by a few different people. From what i have seen, Conley was the main investor initially, and because of this, he was the first Watchtower president. CT Russel became president after the Watchtower became a corporation. Russel was a zionist, because he was really jewish. His original family name was Roessel and his family emigrated from Germany to the british isles before coming to America. Because of this, he had many jewish connections. His family was heavily involved in the freemasons and other secret societies, although i've never found evidence that Charles was himself technically a freemason. The secret society at Yale university (Skull and bones society) which George Bush is a part of, was started by a member of the Russell family. The Russels are identified as one of the 13 families which are part of the illuminati bloodline (if you want to get deeper into it ;)

Things you must avoid at all cost!!
by redvip2000 ini'd like to ask if you recall certain things you were forced to avoid or throw out because they were supposedly demonic, or connected with the occult, or even just plain bad.. i remember we were told to avoid the harry potter movies and books, because he is a magician.
also acdc music.. lol.. .
and oh yeah, during a talk an elder specifically mentioned the show "married with children", because it was a bad example of how a family should behave.

Pardon my ignorance....but what's the scoop with kingdom hall ownership?
by outsmartthesystem inwho actually owns the buildings and land?
is it the local congregation or the watchtower society?
.

redvip2000
Depends, Some halls are owned locally, others are owned by the society. Depends on who paid for it. As it was said here already, even those halls that are owned locally, are usually moved under the Org's name, in exchange of a loan for a "forced" renovation. It's basically another way to make money for the Org. Curiously, even on the halls that are owned by the society, the insurance for the property is paid by the local Congo to the organization, which provides an insurance policy for it's own property paid by the local brothers. Watchtower Organization - Publisher, Bank, Insurance Broker, Disaster Rebuilding Contractor.... and Faithful and discreet slave, of course.

The best ex-JW books - and what made them unique...
by cedars inat some point in my life, i would really like to write a book about my jw experience and jw teachings in general.
however, if i did, i would preferably like to write from a unique angle that makes the book a little different from the many others out there.
i can imagine some being quite self-indulgent, and i would want to avoid that wherever possible.. i must confess, due to a variety of circumstances i am not well read when it comes to all the various ex-jw books out there.

I"ve read quite a few, but i must point out the last one i read.
Apocalypse Delayed, by M. James Penton. It is by far the best book when it comes to recounting the history of the Watchtower society since it's inception and it's full of interesting small details that escape most of us in the quest to learn about the history of the organization.
It was finished in the early 80's so any recent developments are logically not included.
I will however, quote a prediction by M. James Penton back in 1985 which i believe is on last page of the book, which reads:
"... as the witnesses expand in the so-called developing world at a much faster rate than in the industrialized nations, the Watchtower may well begin to experience financial problems. Most of the money it uses to finance it's publishing empire comes from the developed world, and if growth in Europe and North America continues to slow, as it has in recent years, the society will have to press harder to obtain the funding necessary to carry on it's activities."
Great foresight by Penton even back in 1985..
