I don't understand why same-sex couples just don't coin a new term for their union. Why do they have to COPY heterosexual's term?
Would it make it better for you if they spell it "mariage" with one R instead?
Are they allowed to say "sex"? Or should they come up with a different term so that it doesn't affect your pristine idea of what sex should be? Perhaps call it "sexual union". Is that better for you?

Somehow he keeps playing into Jehoober's plan, like for example when Jesus foretold that christians would be persecuted. What does Satan do? He persecutes JWs during the nazi regime. When Rutherford sent that letter to hitler, any devil with half a brain would know that if hitler had shown favor to JWs it would throw the whole "true christians" concept for a loop.

i admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.

None of it makes sense. What i never really understood is the fact that jehoober comes across as a bureaucrat who can't help himself.
This idea... "well Adam was perfect and he sinned so we had to get another perfect man to die for him". Why? Who says that this had to happen? Is this some sort of standard operating procedure that jehoober set in place before he created mankind?
Even if he did, what is preventing him from making an executive decision to change it in order to save such heartache for mankind? What a load of hogwash.
What a colossal way of complicating things. It would make much more sense to simply punish Adam for his sins and move on with business.
Since Jehoober's standards never change i guess when mankind is perfect and living in paradise, and one person sins, Jehoober will kill him and then also kill another person as well to even the scale.

So basically when you're in a business context, you do not have free speech.
What does this have to do with free speech? She can say she hates gays all she wants, that is not the issue.
Free speech and discrimination are two different things. What if this photographer had an employee and this employee admitted he was gay? Should she be able to fire this person because of that?
Businesses are not afforded with the same liberties as private citizens. Businesses have a reponsability towards the public.

I just don't agree the definition of marriage should be changed.
And who's definition is that? How is that going to change your definition? you see the point?
For example,assuming that you are heterosexual, for you, sex is between man and woman, right? Now, you agree that for homosexuals, their concept is different. How has that changed your own concept? It hasn't.
Should we make sex between homosexuals illegal too out of fear that you concept of sex will be threathened?
You see the point? Making gay marriage legal is not going to change your definition of marriage!! The same way that legal gay sex has not changed your definition of sex.

You are missing the point here. This is not about whether you can choose a different photographer, or bar. This is about whether a business can refuse service based on color, sexual orientation, sex, etc etc. What really matters is the precedent that this could create.
A business that serves the public cannot behave this way. This photographer can shun and refuse to associate with gays in her private life as she wants, those views are private and protected by the law, but business are a different story.

it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.
we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

THis is a common misconception. There are no such fossils. The mutations which cause the changes happens gradually over very long periods of time, so when you observe them, they all seem like small changes within one specie.
Sometimes skeptics expect to see a fossil of a fly on one layer of sediment, followed by a fossil of a small donkey with wings on the next layer of sediment and finally a fossil of a donkey on the next layer of sediment. This is not how it works.

it is more to do with that there is more space between the stars and planets and things go between them if they were in the same area.. and do they not consider that the many things that colliided with the moon to make those crators?.
Yup, this is something you would expect to hear at a meeting. What else could you expect from people who refuse to pick up a science book.
It's the same type of logic as when they say that evolution is not true, or else we would see monkeys turning into humans today.
i refuse to go to any meetings, assemblies, conventions, special talks or the like...however, i get coerced into going to the memorial every year.
because it keeps the peace at home with hubby and also makes my parents, who live elsewhere, have hope that i will come to my senses and become an active witness again.
there is no chance in hell of that happening, but it prevents the ties to my family from being severed.
Not me. Most people who show up once a year, do it for the same reason you do it - the families. It keeps the family off their backs. But the sad thing in my opinion is the way you look when you go. For all intents and purposes, by showing up you are telling everybody "Hey i know i'm wrong and you guys are right, but i'm just not strong enough to keep up wish such high standards".
That is why i stopped attending. I couldn't stomach that idea any longer.

Robert, it can be hard dealing with JWs at the door because there is anxiety. I don't think you handled this in the best way, in my opinion.
Going around picking up invitations so your neighbors don't see them, is just as bad as when the watchtower removes old literature from the Watchtower CD so that JWs don't see them.
Truth doesn't need to be protected that way. Leave the invitations alone. You are not giving your neighbors enough credit here. No silly invitation is going to convince a reasonable person that the Watchtower is God's organization when you consider all the facts.
