1) if you are a married, baptized witness couple (both people being baptized) and armageddon arrives, will the couple still be married on paradise earthtm?

according to JWs, only resurrected people will not be able to marry, children born in paradise will be able to marry.
Which means, for all intents and purposes, they will never be allowed to have sex for eternity. And of course no masturbation is allowed. I guess they'll just have more time to sit on the front porch and watch sheeps and leopards eating grass together.
Remind me not to sign up for that future!!

I have a friend who is an elder in California and he told me they had that question in their congregation They wrote the branch And the reply was yes as long as it is legal and you don't advertise the fact.
In smoking form? I imagine being acceptable in another form, but i HIGHLY doubt it will be acceptable to smoke it even if it's legal.

i used to consider sharks to be evidence for creation - and against evolution because it was stated that they are largely unchanged after millions of years ( hence, 'what evolution?')..

There is no such thing. Evolution by natural selection doesn't go on at any predictable or expected rate. Evolution happens when a specific change in an organism prevails if it is better suited to it's environment than the previous organism. If it is not, it does not prevail, and thus there is no evolution.
When you hear the term "living fossil" it means just that - an organism that has remained almost unchanged, mostly likely because it's so well suited to it's enviroment that mutations are much more unlikely to create a better suited organism.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Adam and Eve sinned, so they were effectively cursed by God to experience suffering that they would never have known. But no animal has ever sinned. They are incapable of such a choice. Was there meant to be animals with cancer, or not? Why did God allow this to happen?
THis is one of the things that woke up me. I could not see any logic in why animals suffered the same way as humans do. Cancer, disease, death , why? If God created humans perfect, what sense is there to make animals imperfect? Why create anything imperfect? Why would any creator or manufacturer create anything that is not the best he can come up with?
Yes we were able to create an excuse for humans losing their perfect status, but purposely creating imperfect animals doesn't really make sense.

Yes, in reality the rate of change is related to how well genetic mutations are suited to their enviroment. So although the rate of generic mutations in a shark could be the same as any other living thing, it could well be that the current design is the best suited to survive and thus individuals with mutations are not able to survive as well. This is well in line with the concept of natural selection.

Blood transfusion refused by parents of a 6 month old!!

which is quite surprising as our papers usually do not carry stories like this.. this is a prem baby - now 6 months.
the dr's had to obtain a high court order to allow the procedure.. the baby had to have a blood transfusion as it could not absorb the mother's milk and supplements cannot be used because of his tiny body.. the parents refused to give their consent and was on life support so the dr submitted to the court that this was an infringement on the.

Not that i'm trying to defend the parents, but i'm pretty sure that in making that decision, the parents already knew that in light of the current law, and from past cases, the hospital would seek for the court to take custody of the child in this matter.
So it's a win-win situation for them. They get to be courageous heroes in the congo, and they get to save the child by blaming the evil doctors and hospital.

Oh you mean like umm there will be lack of love? Or there will be wars on occasion in different parts of the planet? Or there will be false teachers?
Could Jesus have been more ambiguous than that? No wonder it's really happening.
Here, let me make some prophecies too. This will happen in 50 years:
1 - Married people will have affairs
2- There will be people who will abuse children.
3 - Thunderstorms will knock out power lines
4 - Children will die of starvation in Africa.
Maybe if these things come true people will remember me as a great prophet too.

I think the GB is actually right about one thing : Most of these annointed are delusional. They don't have any "special feeling" that they are annointed. The only feeling they have is of their immense ego convincing them that they should be better than everybody else.
