aren't you sick of being filled with so much hate ?

i think hate is one of the greatest sins.

Why does Jehovah's heart have to be toward ONLY those in the org.? There is no mention whatsover in the Bible about an "organization", let alone leaving this "org." and then returning.

Yes we have examples given by Jesus of those that leave a Christian lifestyle and then returned. But you must understand my dear brother that this Org. which you so much adore is nothing more than a money making publishing firm that is made up with rules and regulations , most that can't be directly linked to the scriptures.

If someone commits a "gross sin" (the way you put it) then they must resolve that issue with God and God only. Who are these elders or others from the Cong. to say when a person has repented? Just because they "go back" to the meetings? If you believe sinners can show that they have repented just by showing up to some meeting then you have not been paying attention at your precious meetings.

People in the Cong. might feel bad about someone leaving, but its because of the brainwashing that has taken its toll on them. You are instucted to believe that these people WILL die JUST because they no longer go to these meetings.

Now you tell me: Is that the God of love that is mentioned in the Bible? Will I DIE because I no longer go to JW meetings?
How dare you or anyone for that matter sit down and Judge my fate. Thats the diffrence between you and me: I am FREE to follow Christs teachings without all this nonsense, while you live in FEAR that if you do not do precisely what you are told, when you are told, how you are told, then you will DIE. Die in the fearsest battle where blood and gore will cover the earth ( at least that what you believe)-which is why they keep you in CHECK........DEEP CHECK.

Good post. You know it's funny how they claim that the elders are appointed by the "spirit" as you point out, but when the going gets tough and an elder needs to be "removed" from his position, and someones asks :"how was he even appointed"? then the same excuse surfaces-" Oh, Jehovah permits these things to happen to be able to weed out the bad".

How rediculous!! If it turns out to be a good guy whose responsible-then it was Jehovah's spirit that did it for the good of the congo. But if it turns out to be bad, then Jehovah's spirit ALLOWED it for the good of the congo.

Something is really wrong there. I personaly know an elder whose is 30 and likes little 8 and 10 year old girls.
He has had his attention called upon his behavior around little girls and has since "relaxed". But we all know what the deal with him really is.

Now the question is: Did the Holy Spirit put this sick person there? JW's would have you believe that yes he was.

Makes me sick.

i am curious.

how many here have served time at or have relatives that have served at bethel?

i have heard different stories when people came back.

8 months.

I worked roofing, it was hard labor under the intense heat of the sun(in the summer months).

I was a commuter which meant that since I lived in the City you were not given a room (in those times). So I was given about 30 Dollars a month to take the Subway. Boy how big of them.

It was hell for me. The guys in my department actually went around cursing and farting and constantly spitting and talking about girls and how they were going to "get it".

I remember being so shocked that I starting thinking about my "escape plan" since I got there. I finally came up with the excuse that my father did not approve and that he was no longer going to pay for my college loan. So they had no choice but to let me go because one of their conditions to become a bethelite is to not have any major debts.

Glad I was able to leave that unrealistic life. They were all like robots---Hey remember after the meals how everyone had to get up at the same time, then when the bigshots left you could sit down again?! How stupid.

Thank God Im free.

Wrong date

hello i'm new to the whole jw study thing, but they said it fell in 607 but due to the advice of others here i looked it up.

i found in 3 encyclopedia's online that it fell in 586. i printed them out and am going to get more.

i'm going to show the lady i study with, i'm just curious what you think will happen, and if she will try to deny it.

The sister who gives you studies will most probably ask somone "mature" for help on how to respond to your quetion. Most probably she will make arrangements for this person (maybe an elder or pioneer) to come along on the next study.

This person will have prepared using the only book that the WTS has that tries it's darndest to explain that issue.
This Book is the "Let you Kingdom Come" appendix to Chapter 14 ( I'm pretty sure its to chap 14).

There is a long and drawn out explanation to the 607 issue there. So long as a matter of fact (4 pages) that most don't "get it".

They will give you this info. and expect that to be the answer to your question. You should try to get this book before they show up so that you can counter easily to there "explanation".

If you "insist" theyt will tell you their universal anwer to questions that they can't anwer:
"You must wait on Jehovah and have patience, he will enlighten you at the appropriate time. But if you have a bad attitude then the Holy S. won't operate in you. Just because we don't understand certain teachings of our Creator does not mean that he is not our creator and that this in not his org. So whatever you don't understand just be humble and WAIT."

Basically meaning go along wiht anything they say or you will be labeled as having a bad attitude and being rebellious and most probably they will drop you as a study because they will feel that they are wasting valuable time in this "end of the system" that they can be using on someone "humble".

Believe me this is how it will play out.

I was their "puppet" for many years and this is what my training showed me to respond.

Using the WTS own logic of how only Jehovah knows the inclination of one's heart and one's thoughts, I always felt pretty comfortable about surviving.

If it was up to these numbskulls-elders, C.O.'s and all those gossipers in the congo. I would have been fried already.

Should mentally challenged be baptize as JW's

we have a son of legal age,only mentally 5-8 years living with jw relatives.

he studies with the presiding overseer in the knowledge book and goes in service.

he wants to get baptized like his older brother.

Maybe you should ask him WHY he wants to get baptized. Is it JUST because his brother is? or is it because he really fully understands what it means as far as a JW is concerned?

Does he understand that he HAS to go out on service, at least of some type( going out with others at least) show up to all the meetings and make some type of effort to show his zealousness.

There is a brother in the cong. I use to go to and he is about 24 now. He is retarded but only as far as his mobility, speech and thinking is concerned. He still gives 5 min talks and goes out on service.

But he is still treated like any other and on several occasions was the victim of a Judicial commitee. We always wondered how the elders would justify that. He has made some bad judgement calls but we always knew that is was because of his problem.

Still that did not "fly" with the elders and he was reprooved, marked and damn near disfellowshipped once.
All I'm saying is that there will be a time when he might do something and the elders will not want to hear any excuses.

The society is a cold and ruthless organization. I have seen it with my own eyes.

District Convention 2001?

i bumped into an old m.s.

who has not yet realized that i haven't gone to a meeting in about 20 months and asked me if i had my district convention yet.

i said no that it was "coming up".. he then told that there was "new information" given and an "adjustment" in the way we do things.

He then told that there was "new information" given and an "adjustment" in the way we do things. He said that we keep getting blessed with "new light".

He refused to tell me what it was about because he said that he did not want to "spoil my spiritual banquet prepared so well by the FDS".

Does anyone know anything about this "new info/adjustment"? Or was this guy just being overzealous/fanatical?

Carbon-14 Dating

hello all: in discussing evolution, creation, and bible chronology we will at some point pass through various dating methods that challenge religious beliefs, especially that of the watch tower religion.. some years ago the watch tower society published material (i forget the actual reference) that challenged carbob-14 dating as flawed and prone to error, especially when dating fossils.

the wts cited some sources that dealt with sample contamination that may cause errors in reading half-life of carbon-14.. i wish i could find the article again, because it was published when i was still working in nuclear engineering.

i recall feeling that the wts was stretching the claims to cover the understanding of bible chronology regarding the age of homo sapiens being about 4,026 years.

Hey Amazing, pretty interesting your breakdown.
You know I,ve always wondered about that. If the ACTUAL carbon dates of old bones,fossils,etc. are older than the WTS suggest, then Does that make me an Athiest for not going along with the "man is only 6,000 years old" idea?

What would you say to explain the Creation version of events but yet not discarding the carbon dating system?

Are there gaps in history that the Bible and other ancient books don't cover?

Anointed?.... Only in your head

A recent post about the anointed and how they know they are got me so angry that I just had to put in my 2 cents.

Answer me this: If the "anointed" are supposed to be basically the FDS, then why don't they all participate in the "food giving" ?

Someone wrote a post claiming to be of the anointed and tried to explain how he/she feels (holy spiritwise).

What a bunch of crap! Why is it that a select few are chosen to give the rest of the Org. the "meat" at its due time?
Why aren't you so much as consulted as to future material? Even if you dared to step up to the plate and say that you have an interesting idea for material that could be written for the Org. NOONE WILL LISTEN!!!

Now how is that being part of the FDS? How can you be of the anointed and NOT be doing your job that CLASSIFIES you as of the anointed???

To make matters worse, we all know that its not exactly the GB or any of the anointed for that matter, that actually write the material that is considered "food at its proper time". Think about it: a regular baptized brother writes the material that is SUPPOSED to come from the FDS (anointed) and yet all these "anointed" people in the different congs. around the world consider it "meat" coming from their own class!!!

So the "Great crowd" class is actually giving the "food" to the FDS class which swears it comes from the FDS.

So then in that case, Who really is the FDS? You Damn skippy it aint you, my "anointed" visitors.

May I suggest a psychiatrist to help you along with you feeling like a JW anointed one.
