i just read your reply post about your 3/4 lb puppy and naming him blackbart, my wife and i were laughing with gratitude that someone will do that that it actually made me shell out a few tears.. blackbart is indeed a hard worker but i feel so bad for him.
it was only after i returned home that i realized that he was licking the bottom of his left forefoot more and longer than usual.

Blackbart is indeed a hard worker but I feel so bad for him. It was only after I returned home that I realized that he was licking the bottom of his left forefoot more and longer than usual. Inspecting him I realized that he had a pretty serious cut.
He probably picked it up somewhere on the debris. He is such a "knucklehead" sometimes. I was given by the RedCross some doggy boots but he would not let me put them on, he just did not want them. Oh well, he has his paw wrapped for now.
But I did give him the whole chicken (mostly boneless) I promised him before this whole mess for his birthday (Sept. 12).

I just got this from a witness who I bumped into yesterday. She is very disturbed by this announcement the congo. got on Friday at their service meeting:
"As Jehovah's people who don't get mixed up in Satan's political issues we see it best that we do not watch the news or listen to it on the radio because that is what Satan want's. He wants us to get mixed up in this and start to "side" with one of the parties involved".
This is as best she could remember the announcment. I believe that the WT is taking advantage of this tragedy and coming out with this "reasoning" to deter people from watching the news and therefore missing the Dateline special.
Has anyone else heard this at their local area hall/witnesses?
BTW, I have been rotated out of "Ground Zero" and since there are thousands of volunteers the coordinators are giving every squad a 1 day a week assignment, so I won't have to go back until Thursday.

No I don't have any links just what I was able to read at teh Chelsea piers at 23rd st which is the "base" where all the workers are coming out of. This is where all the clothing and canned foods,water ,etc. are coming into. Apart from that they are keeping a very accurate list of all org. (and people) donations that are being made.
Msnbc might have a list online, they where covering that part of the story. I don't have the time to see but I'm pretty sure that they have it somewhere.

NYtelecon is right we have to find out first if the WT is helping. So with that in mind let me be the first to tel you guys that having worked now three days at ground Zero, I have yat to see or hear of any donations or relief help coming from the WTS.
If they did they would have been registered by now just like every other org. that has donated millions.
It's sad as I was looking at the list of all donations made by so many companies I came across a donation of $1000 made by a group of kids in Mississpi.
Now how pathetic is that? That the WTS can't even donate that amount to the victims families? And We have to wait on kids to take the lead?
There's your answer NYtelecom. If you are indeed in NY then you of all should know. If not get another call name...you don't deserve to carry the name.

I'm going to shower now and get this odor of burnt ashes off of me. Most of Manhattan now smells of ashes with the wind carrying the smell to all parts.
I still can't beleive this. I will say this: If we do go to war with whoever is responsible, I'll volunteer to re-activate myself into full time active duty. Someone will pay...they will pay big time.
Well they have finally done it. They finally took our towers down. The towers that I used to visit so much as a kid and adult. My twin towers.
I was mobilized yesterday as part of the NYPD as the city went into it's highest security alert. All personell was activated wether you were off duty or not. There were "freezes" throughout the city mostly 1 block around all official buildings.
Noone could get into a police precint. Noone could leave the city through any of the bridges. (they are now opened for outbound trraffic only-but of course noone is leaving because then they can't get back in). There was hours and hours of endless traffic jams of people who could not get home. The trains and city buses were taken out of service. People including my sister had to walk for miles and miles to get home. My sister walked 11.5 from her job located at NYU downtown Manhattan to the very northern tip of Manhattan where she resides.
But the biggest saddness was ground Zero...there must be anywhere between 15 and 20 stories of debris. News pictures and videos help to capture whats going on, but looking at it live makes you marvel at the amount of steel and glass and bricks that were used to make these towers.
I was out working from 10am until 12 midnight and will return at about 12pm. It's truely incredible.
What gets me pissed is that already JW's are talking about the prophecies are getting fulfilled. Morons.

here are just a few thoughts to discuss and to keep myself distracted for now.. there are only two organizations that routinely reward and bless major screw-ups:.
If a brother gets made elder and seems to be all spiritual for years but then later it is found that he was having an adulterous affair with a poineer for years, then it was Jehovah who "allowed" this to happen because it was "necassary" to have this individual removed from the org., or at least have him humbled.
But if he were to work out just fine and be an example to everyone, then it was jehovah who blessed the congo. with the much needed help!
And that kind of reasoning is what keeps the org. in power. They can get pretty silly and stupid about it also, like I remember an elder who once told me when I was able to find parking right away(we did not have a lot) that that was Jehovahs angel who saved that spot for me! He was completly serious.
Then on another occasion, this same elder told me, when I arrived late to the meeting because I could not find parking, that, that was Satan trying to get me to miss the meeting!!!
I remember that about every 5 years or so, he would get drunk and cry for hours looking at a photo album whiched contained pics of all of his friends that never came back. He never ever talked to us about it. I found out more information when he past away in Jan. this year and I went through all his papers.

Some time ago on H2o, I think Kent (if Im not mistaken)posted a document that shows how in Norway the Govt gives a certain amount of $$ to the different religions depending on the number of members.
Well it seems that the WTS lied on their application to the Gov't and claimed more JW's than they really had. This was proven because in that same year in the yearbook the society printed a lesser amount of JWs. Evidently they were still counting the inactives and disfellowshipped to rake in the $$.
If Kent did not post this, I'm pretty sure he would have the article and scanned copy of the application. Randy over at Freeminds might also have it.
