  " Joel 2 now refers to the “Babylonians”, the coalition of nations that will try to destroy God’s people. The context of Joel chapter 2 points the time period of fulfillment to Jehovah’s Day in the Great Tribulation and how God will save his people."

  I guess this will be expanded upon to explain why the "nations" are all taking action against the Org because of their inexcusable and terrible record on Abuse, and their total lack of care for the vulnerable, and care or love toward the victims. It will be spun as a plot to destroy the Org, and as a sign of the closeness of the " Great Tribulation".

  It will be a Great Tribulation for the Org's Bank Account, and rightly so.

  I did warn earlier in this Thread, do not feed the Troll !!

  "Scholar" is not interested in what the Bible writers really said. His/Her ? only interest is to establish some kind of sense for the mess that is the JW interpretation of the Bible. Facts and Evidence, as usual, and even less the research of real Scholars, mean nothing to "Scholar".

  Again, do not waste your time on trying to convince someone who has no interest in Truth.

  Good points Shepherdless, just a note for JW's, there is no such thing as " Bible Chronology", in the sense of historically testable and verifiable stuff.

  There is only accepted history and Chronology to work from, JW Org recognizes this of course, and works from the destruction of Babylon, 539 B.C.E, for a lot of its very doubtful calculations. Like a lot of Bible believers who like to take it as almost literal, and accurate, they then struggle to make the Bible's claims fit actual History.

  And the Bible certainly does NOT say Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 B.C.E ( see above Posts).

  Thanks Doug,

  That is a question that has long occurred to me, as I have seen both dates mentioned, usually together as in " 587 or 586 BCE " or sometimes as 587/586 BCE. I wondered where the doubt as to pinpointing the exact date came from, so thank you for your research and for Posting it here.

  Of course this is of no huge importance to most people, even serious Scholars of the Bible perhaps, but if one gets in to a discussion with a believing J.W, to have a hint of doubt, even a month or two, is something they will latch on to to try to discredit the proof. Of course in doing so they would still be ignoring the circa 20 year error in their own organizations spurious and ridiculous claim about the date of Jerusalem's destruction.

  If my memory serves, a Poster on here some years ago, Ann O'Mally (I think that name is a pun !) showed that the Babylonian Clay tablets we have about their Astronomical calculations prove the year was 587 BCE too.

  to think they have hung the blue and white sign on every building they own in the world and that this was a publicity campaign with the presumed backing of the god of the universe....... it's not going well.. despite the 8.5 million followers, who through design have to visit the site......it isn't even in the top ten..... top fifty..... top one hundred ......top two hundred visited sites globally.. users on average click through 7 pages per visit and don't stay long, averaging about a minute a page.. as for the data on its search over time 'jw.org' is now googled globally at a rate less than 25% of its peak and is usually associated for a search for the daily text.. .

  between this and the carts, the only message getting through to real people is 'child abuse' and that woman from king of queens taking an interest!.

  i sincerely think we are seeing evidence of what has been anecdotal decline...... waited long enough for it!.

  A small diversion from the main Topic, but a while ago I told a friend that I had to attend a Funeral in a certain locality, " Oh is that at such and such Church ?" he asked, I said no "at the local J.W one", he said "exactly where is that then ?" so I told him, and he said " Oh I thought that was a Business premises, with that Logo on it".

  Another FAIL for JW Org, of course he was right, it is a Business Premises !

  i was with my brother in law when we were in service and given this book.

  i have posted on this before but it got me to thinking.

  it was taken from us by the local elder we talk to about it.

  Doesn't Schnell's book end by saying something like if he saw the predictions from JW's about 1975 and Armageddon come true he would not be surprised ? if I am thinking about the right book ?

  If so, he, or the Author of the book I am thinking about, lost all credibility with us JW's who read it at the time. If he had spent more effort, and found out and exposed the JW teachings as being in error, he would have done some good, and maybe I would have got out Decades earlier !

  hi friends ,i sent an e-mail to the irwin zalkin law firm in the usa ,i`m in australia ,thanking them for going to bat for all those sexually abused in the jehovah`s witness religion.. just letting them know that what they are achieving is not going unnoticed by ex -jw`s around the world with the success they are having and hopefully will continue to do.. that was yesterday .. today i received a reply ,thanking me for my kind words ,and that they are doing the best they can.. it was nice for such a prompt reply.. i just thought i would share that with you all..

  Finky's Post began " The only way the WTS/JWorg. can impede pedophilia happening within the organization......." and I agree with the rest of his Post.

  But there is a further way to impede Abuse of the vulnerable happening, and also having the benefit of stopping Litigation against J.W Org, and that would be for a simple programme of protection to be set up.

  This is something every Congregation, no matter what size could do.

  Nearly all Sporting Clubs and other Associations have adopted the following, my own small village Club included.

  Any vulnerable person, Child ( i.e under 18) or Adult has to be accompanied by a " Chaperone", either a parent or someone appointed by a Parent or Guardian. If this is not possible to arrange, the vulnerable person CANNOT attend a function or event or anything at the Club. Each Club has an appointed Officer or Officers in charge of seeing the Protection Programme is working, and that Members adhere to all advice, for example, when using a Washroom or similar, and a vulnerable person enters alone, any Adults must leave the Room immediately. There are other features to the Programme, but you get the idea.

  If little Village Clubs can do this, all Congregations of JW's can do it.

  Would you not think that "God's Spirit Directed Org" would be ahead of the Game on this,. not so far behind ?

  hi all, just wanted to update you on further to my post (link https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6235349429780480/activism-works-success ).. as usual we were in the park this weekend gone (the two bros fading, my good friend and i).we went for a coffee later.

  as we were walking to the coffee place we passed a lady and i mentioned that "she lived on my street , near my house.

  I reckon Zing is doing a great job, leading these horses to water ( of truth) and getting them to drink. I also feel Zing knew about the history of the Christadelphians ( an interesting one), but used the opportunity to ask a leading question, not to leap in and show his/her ? knowledge.

  This must be one of the few ways to get through to active J.W's !

  May I add my thanks Atlantis, it is wonderful to be able to read and digest this piffle before the Elders do !

  I am again saddened to see that no changes have been made to procedure over Abuse. It is still the usual attitude, not a care for the victims, simply JW Org covering its ass. Especially with the Phone Legal first dictum.

  It is a MORAL duty to report even a hint of Abuse to the Authorities, who are trained to deal with it, all the other nonsense can wait, possible J.C's were there two witnesses etc etc.

  Of course, we the initiated, educated by your Documents Atlantis, can clearly see that the J.W Org lacks Morals.
