this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

I agree Simon, the NHS is far from perfect, well that is an understatement, it is, frankly, mismanaged. This is not the fault of the front line Staff of course, but, despite your two year old graph, the Service has been cut, under funded, I still stand by that, relentlessly for decades, under a " Labour" Government, but really harshly since 2010 under the Conservatives.

Huge savings could be made by getting rid of the crap Management, and employing people dedicated to delivering the Service as it was envisaged in 1948. Yes, the money invested as a percentage of GDP may have to increase somewhat, but the Management I refer to are a hindrance to running an efficient Service, fit for purpose. Most have been employed to simply carry out the cuts. And these people are hugely expensive.

" Lock down" is not what we are really in Cofty, a real lock down would protect our Borders, we also went far too late in to the mild, half-arsed lock down we now have, even Starmer , the Leader of the so-called Opposition, said this in Parliament today.

Too little, too late is what our Government have done, and criticism is not uncalled for, if they were allowed to get away with it, they would not even bother to do the pathetically little they are doing, the provision of PPE has been woeful, this is all a result of ten years of under funding the NHS, of ignoring the recommendations of the Pandemic practice run carried out in 2016 which Jeremy Hunt IGNORED. It said, Prepare, build up stocks of PPE, Fund the NHS,... he did NOTHING. The Conservative Government took this decision.

Their record is indefensible, unless you are blinded by the propaganda that comes via the Right Wing controlled Media. Mind Control, similar to that employed by the JW's, is used by such media, lack of information, a dearth of truth, and people, they know, will swallow the crap they are fed, and Vote Tory. Well, they, and sadly all in the U.K, are reaping what they have sown.

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses Shun fellow believers When God and Jesus never shunned even Satan ?

scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries bce, with the 6th century bce as the most likely period for various reasons.

the book of job .. so according to jw`s about 6,000 years ago satan rebelled against jehovah god ,did jehovah disown him there and then shunning him ?.

apparently not as we can read from the book of job centuries later that satan could still come and go freely before the throne of jehovah in heaven .job 1: 6. and apparently he could still do this for centuries later ,that is coming to and fro before jehovah because according to the jw religion he wasn`t cast out of heaven for another 2,000 years until the 20th century .. now in the case of jesus much of what is said about jehovah and satan also applies to jesus before he came to earth.. but even when he was on earth he didn`t shun satan either in fact he allowed satan to lead him around according to the bible account.luke 4:13 so the devil having concluded all the temptations retired from him until another convenient time .so it wasn`t jesus calling the shots here it was satan .. mark 1: 13 he ,jesus, also shared 40 days in the wilderness with satan letting him tempt him .. so their was no way either jehovah or jesus ever shunned satan the devil according to the bible writings.. and when jesus ascended to heaven after his sacrifice he along with his father jehovah still had association with satan the devil until he was cast out of heaven 2,000 years later ,according to the jw`s..

The only reason for the DFing thing is Control. It is on extremely shaky ground as a practice if you read, IN CONTEXT, all the Scriptures they "base" it on.

But it is beloved by the G.B as a control technique because the pull of family is strong, and it more often than not stops any of the TTAT getting to the J.W's, even people like me, merely faded/inactive, refrain from discussing religion with J.W's, because a DFing is always a threat. Control, Control is the G.B's Mantra.

The U.K is surrounded by the Sea, but our inept Government did nothing to control the Borders, and is still allowing people to enter, with no health check, and then toddle off in to the community.

Many are saying this is obviously not just incompetence, but deliberate Policy

They seem determined as a Government to kill off the vulnerable, State Genocide.

Doctors treating Corona virus with blood Plasma from survivors

just read article today blood plasma from recovered corona patients to be transfused into the seriously ill to see if antibodies in the blood can help.. i guess if your a witness you can just pray and write your will..

If the G.B members, or just 1 or 2, require this treatment, wait for WHOOSH as Noo Lite suddenly flashes forth !

They have precedent for doing this, when it became necessary for International travel by President Knorr and others to have vaccinations, suddenly they were O.K, though forbidden from the time of Rutherford until then.

Isn't the Holy Spirit's "direction" a wonderful thing ?

Baptized at 12 , left when 58. Best thing I ever did ! With all the things I could see wrong with the Org, it still astounds me that it took me so long. But the advent of the Internet helped, when I eventually got round to researching on it, and , among others, found this excellent Site !

JW patient with covid-19 received blood transfusion

i had a patient admitted from a skilled nursing facility/rehab that is an active jw.

the patient had covid-19 as did most of the patients at that facility.

typically the local elders are all involved in these admissions but there is a strict no visitor policy which includes clergy.

I wonder how many JW's will be sensible and take blood if it proves to be either a cure, or a protection, which is being worked on by researchers as a possibility ?

I think "Judicial Action" against any taking blood has been light in recent years, and in the circumstances above the JW would be totally excused.

The whole JW teaching on Blood is a total mess, and totally nonsensical and cannot be backed by Scripture unless such words are really twisted and taken completely out of context. Any DFing etc. will expose their murderous, baseless, teaching to more Public scrutiny, and bad Publicity.

The curve may be flattened, but it does not necessarily then follow even a slow, but steady downward movement, not with a virus infection such as this, we should expect a bit of downward movement, followed by another upward one, and that pattern perhaps repeated. This is because various measures work for a while, like a "lockdown", but in that time, members of the community are incubating the disease.

The Government in this Country,the U.K, is trying to give the impression that it up to a peak, then a slide down, with no hiccups. I doubt that will happen, especially as they are allowing people to return to the Country from all over the World, with NO CHECKS, and then allowing them to trot off home, maybe via the Supermarket, and so spread the disease further.
