In Article 9 it says that "No member of the Congregation shall be liable for.............. "
So who pays in cases of Abuse ? This lets the Elders as individuals or as a Body off the hook, the Congregation itself as an entity has no assets, and little cash on hand.
This is a move to deny any poor Victims due Compensation for having their lives STOLEN !
How does this square with the other letter we got recently that JW's are not members, but associates ?

those that i recall seemed such aloof creatures..
One that stayed with us was very nice, but without doubt totally batty ! She insisted on washing up for us, in the days before we had a Dishwasher, and she was useless at it. My wife had to do it again when she wasn't looking.
what did you do with your jw literature when you left?
kept it, sold it or dumped it?
I kept some Books for reference purposes, a couple of Mags containing pretty damning stuff, and burned the rest.
Having that Bonfire was very cathartic, my "Ministry" bag and stuff went on it too, it also freed up a lot of shelf space ! More room for books of use and value !
my recollection of cos were they may have been very low paid almost volunteers..but they werent poor.
most appeared well dressed.
i knew a few..and they were well connected with wealthy famlies.
I think back in my youth most were "poor" in the sense of small income, no savings to speak of. but of course they had no living expenses to find.
One guy who stayed with us for the "visit" week, told me he took terrific care of his Meeting clothes , so as to look smart, but rarely spend on anything new.
That couple, and others who stayed in our home, were really nice modest people.
Later C.O's and D.O's may have been different, but I saw no sign of "back-handers" from our Congo. A wealthy bro in later times had a huge posh house, all the C.O's used to stay with him of course. In even later times there was an Apartment attached to a K.H they could stay in.
seeing on another post here about former jws throwing away literature.
i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).
in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.
I was wondering the other day if they have anything like the old "All Scripture is Inspired" book. I know how dated and inaccurate about nearly everything the original was, so I guess that is on a "Discard" list somewhere ?
But did they ever produce an updated, but similar tome ?
as jehovahs people how thankful we are we can rely on satan's world for providing the technology to allow us to have zoom meetings.
and providing physical food as well through the farmers to families food program.
and now we are blessed that soon yes very soon!
Funny that Jesus has been Ruling since 1914 yet has contributed nothing for the benefit even of JW's who are his subjects. All the good things come from Satan and his helpers.

Anna Marina, I think, just possibly, they may have foreseen what you say happening, they have announced they may not relax precautions for JW's just on the Government's say so.
But it will be funny if they are WAY behind the curve.
It is my sincere hope that the Vaccines do sufficient for us to get back to doing most of what we did pre-covid, maybe with some continued personal precautions. There may be some unnecessary deaths of Covid deniers, Anti-vaxxers and Anti-maskers to come, but that is Natural Selection at work, Darwin Awards for them to follow .
If people are sensible, I know, Big Ask!, but if everybody still takes some necessary precautions it can be beaten.
" wt writers already use the term "associate", when they call a jw who has terminated his membership ( by voting for trump/biden for example) as "disassociated".
Oh that explains why they can't call them members then, otherwise when they threw someone out they would have to say they had been dismembered.
It was mentioned above that they kept referring to themselves as the "Ecclesiastical Governing Body" I guess that is an attempt to distance the 8 Popes from the bit that has all the money, the actual org, and they will claim as individuals they have no money. And as responsibility stops with the EGB the Org itself cannot be sued. I don't think that will work either Legally but they will try any underhanded trick they can think of.
Yes Rick , I see the move as motivated entirely by this, thus the org itself would not be Sued for compensation, and the poor victims would not get what they should for having a life both stolen and ruined. The Elders and local Cong have few assets, not even a K.H that belongs to them !
