Are You Enjoying living in Jesus Christ`s Paradise after 40 years of his reign ?

it has been 40 years since 1975 when 6000 years of human creation took place according to wt theology,when jesus christ was supposedly to begin his 1000 year reign in which earth was supposed to be turned back to an eden like paradise.. 1975 was the second attempt of the wt to predict when 6000 years of human creation took place,the first time it was supposed to have occurred was in 1872 .. so by that reckoning we should be living 40 years into jesus christ`s 1000 reign .. on the other hand wt theology states that jesus returned in 1914 to do what ?

sit at his fathers right hand until 1975 ?.

of course this all hinges on jehovah`s witnesses / watchtower belief that a creative day was 7000 years long that they taught for decades .. do they still cling to this belief ?

The 1975 nonsense had gone right to the recesses of my memory !

What a load of old nonsense that was, I still remember listening to Fred Franz talk about it a few years before, he said, " We are not saying that 1975 blah blah blah", then with a laugh, he proceeded to put in the minds of most J.W's that it was correct.

One guy in a nearby Congregation sold his property business and Pioneered. He would be a millionaire today if he had not done that. He stopped being an active J.W shortly after '75.

Strangely it had little effect upon my own Congregation, we all seemed to take it with a whole sack of Salt, not just a pinch. A number of us, myself included, started paying in to a Pension scheme, that we could not collect for another 40 years ! I am glad we did !

A major "Fail" by the J.W Org, that really ruined a lot of lives, and hyet is forgotten not just by me, but most of today's active J.W's

A couple of Newspapers like to give that impression, but they are not, and as I already explained, our T.V ( and Radio actually) are controlled by the same Billionaire interests.

The Main Stream Media here is corrupt, and will not let Truth get out to the Public.

In this Thread we have listed so many of the J.W teachings that are patently wrong.

But the one Teaching/Doctrine they have that is critical to their very existence as a credible religion, is that Jesus began to reign in heaven in the year 1914 A.D.

Without that they can have no "choosing" of them as god's Organization in 1919, and that means that, if that " choosing" is not true, then today's Governing Body are self-appointed Charlatans !

No 1914 = No 1919 = The J.W religion is a total Sham.

The 1914 teaching has been proven to be SO wrong that I wonder they are not embarrassed to keep pushing it, admittedly in a subtle, underhanded way, not overtly like they used to, but now presenting it as a given.

They should be ashamed of themselves, fleecing people, imprisoning people mentally, and harming people for life often.

Jehovah’s Witnesses—the Most Boring People On Earth!

when i see watchtower videos or interviews i can’t help but notice how bland and boring jws really are!

they are so vanilla.

no excitement, just robotic conversation.. what the hell happened to these people?

They really are the Most Boring People on Earth.

I have J.W family, and whenever I speak to them, I am struck that THEY have nothing to talk about ! I fill in the silences with lots of stuff about what me and my non-JW family have been doing, but them ? they know I don't want to hear about their latest Convention by Zoom or whatever, so, what have they got ? NOTHING !

What a waste of a life is one spent in the J.W. Org !

Something has just occurred to me about the BORING Meetings and Conventions. A question, can any J.W remember the "wonderful Spiritual food" that was imparted at a Convention 20 years ago ? ten ? five ? NO !

We had an elderly Sister who took copious notes at the Convention, when the Elders had the bit on the Meeting about bringing out the highlights from the Convention, they used to crib from her notes ! Because they could not remember what was presented at the Convention just a few weeks before !

The Convention talks are supposed to be way above the ones given in a Congregation, but were INSTANTLY forgettable !!

Meetings and Conventions that are instantly forgettable ?

You cannot get more boring than that.

The Evidence of Human Evolution keeps getting stronger and stronger

despite the wt's and young earth creationists' teachings against human evolution (namely macroevolution from non-humans) being a reality, the evidence of human evolution keeps getting stronger and stronger.. consider for example two science news articles and one other science article, each pertaining to the fossil that is nicknamed "little foot".

mickbobcat, the Theory of Evolution explains how Flora and Fauna evolve over time, so it explains how the plants and animals we see today got here. Nothing more.

If you want to get in to how Life on Earth started, which is one question, or how the Universe we know came in to existence, which is a a separate question, they are NOTHING to do with Evolution.

If you wish to know about those two things you have to study Abiogenesis, and Cosmology.

I also suggest you look at the very solid proof that argues vigorously against the idea of complexity and diversity being proofs of design.

Here in the U.K we have Newspapers owned by billionaires who live offshore, pay no taxes here, but wield huge influence. They support only the Right Wing who will not Tax their Corporations as they should.

They Mind Control the populace.

We have a Public Broadcasting Company that is a disgrace, it always has supported the Establishment Right Wing, it reports only stuff favourable to the Establishment Right Wing, and it suppresses a lot of News, hundreds of thousands can march in protest at the Government, and it will not be reported. It smears anyone Left of Atilla the Hun, and everyone in Palestine is a " militant" according to them. They are so pro-Israel that they are an embarrassment to all who see what Israel is.

The other broadcasters, on Radio and T.V are not much better.

Basically, here in the U.K the News Media have sold out. To hear truth and the real story, you have to search on-line to obscure sources, no wonder we are in Deep Shit.

The right to not be exposed to ideas I don’t like or agree with?

ok, i would like to submit to the forum the following question: in abstract, do you think that there is a right to not being exposed to ideas that you don’t like or disagree with?

please think it through and its implications on both ends of the spectrum.. it’s not the right to conscientious objection to do something you vehemently disagree with; it’s not about the liberty to chose which ideas you want to embrace or advocate.

it’s something different.. given that, as exjws, we understand the importance of being exposed to different opinions in order to form our own opinion, should someone claim the right not to be exposed to opinions or ideas that they don’t like?

I firmly believe that for people to have the Legal Right to resist being exposed to opinions etc they disagree with is to be resisted as firmly as we can !

If people live in an "Echo Chamber" that simply confirms their view, how do they know their opinions and beliefs are correct ?

I find it a pain in the bum when I am confronted by ideas and opinions I know to be wrong, but why should I not know the shit people are coming out with ? I find it a pain because I usually feel Duty Bound to put such people right.

if my own opinions are correct and can be backed up with facts and evidence, why should I be worried by being confronted with nonsense ?

I am so glad that many opinions I held, many things I thought were true, were shown to be not so by people who knew better. If I had listened to the JW Org rules, I would still be in that Echo Chamber, the J W Mental Prison.

No, as long as it isn't Hate Speech, likely to foment violence, expose me to it as much as you like !

Does this look like the WT is going to be around a long time? One Watchtower @ One Awake for the public in 2022

i keep hearing that the watchtower org is going to be around forever because of the many other religions that have been around a long time.

but i disagree because the wt is not like other religious cults.. the watchtower's breath of life is dependent on the last days that started in 1914. .

you can’t change 1914 without a death blow to the entire organization.. the watchtower's 2nd reason for staying alive, is it's continual urging that the life saving preaching work of warning people is the most important work ever.. but- it's very obvious to many, even the old ones that instead of speeding up the work------the work is slowing down to a drip.. comment by former believer; .

I am not surprised they don't want to do the knock-knocks again. Nobody liked doing that anyway, and letter writing or whatever is much less painful. But, I would have thought a lot would want to return to the K.H for the social side of things, and for gossiping etc.

But maybe there is reluctance for this too, they can still Socialise, still Gossip, without all the faff of preparing for, travelling to, and then sitting through a boring Meeting.

Covid may have a positive thing or two come out of it !

"Not Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name" is a Non-Sensical Excuse for Shunning

for whatever reason i was thinking on the topic of jehovah's witnesses' practice of disfellowshipping its members based on the concept of preventing "bringing reproach on jehovah's name".

follow me if you will -.

over 20 years ago a friend of mine did something rather crazy; he committed a major crime.

This business of "reproach on Jehovah's name" as has been pointed out means that the Org equates itself with Jehovah.

Reproach upon the Org is what they are talking about really, so it makes it really strange that they have such a poor record in making sure reproach on the Org does not happen.

The primary example of this is the Sex Abuse Scandal. If they had only done what they should, institute immediate Reporting to all appropriate Authorities, and set up an actual working Vulnerable Persons protection Programme, as all responsible Organizations do, they could have avoided much reptoach upon the Org, and more importantly avoided much of the abuse actually happening.

THEY STILL HAVE NOT DONE THOSE TWO THINGS !!!! WHY ??

The other area they fall down on is their woeful lack of any real Pastoral work, so many problems become Big problems, which if they had skilled Pastors actually caring for the flock, would have been dealt with before they grew to the point where someone has to be DF'd.
