  i'm half listening in on my wife's zoom meeting.

  in my decade+ in the org, i don't remember ever getting into such minutia about jw hunting rules.. apparently, it's ok to kill an animal to use its skin as a clothing accessory, but it's not ok to kill an animal to use its antlers as a wall decoration.. not mentioned in the talk: whether or not its ok to kill an animal to wear its antlers as a hat.. .

  i didn’t hear any about me, my dad was there to squash any of that.

  but, a guy who left on his 18th birthday, moved cross country, had the rumor started (by elders), that he was now in prison for selling cocaine.

  lol, he’s an artist in california.

  They could not find any form of wrongdoing that explained my leaving. And they always will never face the thought that I left because it simply is not " the truth", no, there must be another reason.

  A rumour went around that I had left to start my own Religion ! When I heard that one , I said, " Well, what a great idea ! there is Money in that !".

  The young man in the Article is reported as saying " I wish I had taken the Vaccine", he obviously had been offered it, his age group has. He was young, healthy, and with no underlying health problems. Yes , deaths such as this poor chap's are rare, but it could be YOU !

  The wilful ignorance of many may well kill them, the evidence for the efficacy and safety of these vaccines is plentiful.

  Someone said we have the Freedom to refuse, yes, but in so doing you may well kill someone else. Freedoms come with responsibilities. We as individuals have a responsibility to help move forward the return to normal life, the more who are unvaccinated and spread the disease by that and other irresponsible behaviour, the longer that return will take.

  I have written a long answer to this question on Minimus' similar Thread, about did we believe the Witnesses were the one true religion, but no, I was never a 100% believer, from a very young age I found the explanations of how a small Cult following Judge Rutherford fulfilled some great bible prophecy too hard to swallow.

  Of course they subsequently changed some of that, but I still could not swallow the "new light".

  I was embarrassed by "100% JW's", they seemed to be so gullible to me, and to speak in platitudes and gushing praise of what I saw as a very imperfect religion, even my own relatives who I respected in other areas of life.

  I am proud to say I was never 100% a JW, ashamed to to acknowledge it took me WAY too long to fully wake up and leave.

  i was raised believing i was very fortunate knowing i had the truth.

  i was groomed to be an elder.

  i figured if mother said something, even if i couldn’t totally understand it, it was correct because mother knows best.

  I was born in, and believed that JWism was broadly "the truth", after all that phrase, "the truth", was used more than any other, in Meetings and JW conversation.

  But I was always questioning, when I was about 9 I read a new explanation of the book of Daniel by the org, called " Thy Will be Done" I think, it differed from what I had read in the old Books by Rutherford. At that young age I was a voracious Reader, and our house only had a few Novels etc in it, most were JW Books. I was one of the few youngsters who actually read the stuff !

  I asked my father about the change in interpretation, and he gave me a curt and unsatisfactory reply, so I didn't question him further. But from then on I questioned the "Society's" interpretation of Scripture, but still believed the basics.

  After I finally woke up fully and left, an Elder said to me " But you were never a 100% J.W ", this was to justify in his mind my failure to swallow the bullshit and hence leaving, and he perceived it too as a slight reprimand, I just took it as a compliment !

  I still fail to comprehend how it took me so very long to fully wake up, but the Mind Control of phrases like "the truth", the constant referring to the Bible as " God's word" and so on, is very strong, I thank the Internet and the people on it for helping me wake up !

  I think Splane is the Cult Leader. And I think there are more apostates working on the inside than we can imagine.

  so in the latest leaked video, splane goes on this crazy delusional rant about how faithful witnesses should never research their faith.. he criticizes the worldly court system and says they are not fair toward witnesses and the organization.

  he says the court system is rigged and witnesses who get convicted, (implied child sex abusers) are innocent.

  he is literally trying to justify child molesters and elders who cover them, as good people in "god's eyes" even though "human authorities" may judge them and put them in jail.

  I would like to know if this is mere opinion, or there is some solid proof of this. I have long thought there are SOME "awake" folks working inside to undermine the evil org, but my humble opinion, just a gut feeling, is that they are few, but that PIMO's are many, but keep their heads down.

  " the issues are not about scandals but doctrines ", yes, they don't want any of their teachings exposed for what they are.

  But also, they don't want JW's to be aware of the extent of their paedophile problem, and the massive Court costs and Compensation payments, as this knowledge has woken some up on its own.

  hi all.. i'm 42 years old.

  i have had two jabs of the oxford-astrazeneca vaccine.. after my first jab i experienced flu-like symptoms - shivering, wanted to lie down in a dark room, etc.. i experienced no side effects after my second shot.. how about you?.

  how many jabs have you had?.

  Two shots of Pfizer, no side effects ,apart from a lot of Farting, but that may be due to the inordinate amount of garlic and onions I eat, and Pints of Real Ale I consume....... just maybe.

  I made a sacrifice, and read the Transcript. Of course there is just so much that is wrong with all he says, and others, no doubt Lloyd Evans and those on Reddit will have dissected most of it. So I won't bother to do a phrase by phrase analysis.

  But one bit struck me as just plain silly. Well more than one of course, but chiefly the bit where the Interested person is to be warned off from even reading the stuff On-line, then the JW is supposed to encourage them to associate with the Congregation, suck up to the Elders and the C.O etc, and then "you will see that what is said is not true".

  If the Interested person has NOT read the "accusations" how Da Fluck can they determine they are not true by doing as advised ?

  I used to be disturbed when I was an active J.W that they never spelled out what these "Apostate Lies" were they spoke about, and showed where they were false, WHY NOT ?

  Because if anyone actually does what Splane advises, and PROPERLY Fact Checks these supposed lies, the JW org would be exposed as the Liars they are !

  after listening to the zoom meetings the past two weeks, i started to wonder, what is the real purpose for such short comments.

  policy for 5 or more years now.

  supposedly, it is so more can comment.

  When I first began to fully wake up , I felt there was nothing really Spiritual about the meetings, and that they were generally turgid. This was in the mid 2000's, so they must be decidedly mental torture now !

  Shortly after I left I visited a number of Churches and attended the Services, one C of E one was pretty standard, but the words of the Lady Vicar about being active in service to the community were lively and impassioned, and a contrast with JW attitudes ! A Baptist Church was lively altogether, but a bit too much like JW Org in its message.

  The very best one we went to was a former C of E Church building that had been taken over and run by a vibrant Pastor, whose preaching was wonderful, the Congregation was full of families, and they encouraged the teenagers to sit together, everyone was in smart casual clothes, looking relaxed, they had a Christian Rock style band that was really good too, an uplifting and very spiritual experience, unlike anything I had experienced in the JW Org in six decades !

  This Church/Congregation was independent of the C of E.

  Maybe Boredom and lack of fulfilment for individuals will hurry along the demise of the JW Org !
