I've just started reading Thrillers by Linwood Barclay, very good , if you like a good Thriller. His first and latest Books are exceptional, the ones in between are excellent. There is a trilogy, obviously you will need all three, they run one in to the other. The first one comes to no sort of conclusion, you need volume 2 to hand !

Removing verses form the NWT
by Phizzy inthe jw org has removed certain verses from their nwt version, claiming usually that what is removed is not found in the oldest mss, that claim is fair enough, until you ask a simple question, this :.
" if you are going to remove interpolations from the bible, where do you stop?"..
the org.

The JW org has removed certain verses from their NWT version, claiming usually that what is removed is not found in the oldest MSS, that claim is fair enough, until you ask a simple question, this :
" If you are going to remove Interpolations from the Bible, where do you stop?".
The org. does not recognise/acknowledge the many hundreds of interpolations that there are, but the question above is valid, and poses a problem for them, and all who do this in their Bible versions.

Small World ! Me and about five other guys from our Congo. were camping on that same Rec. ground as Stan! because it doesn't get dark fully at night that time of year in Bonnie Scotland, we used to go out for a few beers etc then we would play football until about 3 in the morning, stagger noisily back to our tents, then get rudely awakened by nearby Bros getting up about 7am !
It was up those stairs we went Cofty ! I didn't witness the incident you had with the cakes, I would have laughed no end, and probably you would then have thumped me, so probably a good thing !

Beth, Punky is in the U.K., as am I. So food available to us was not the same as you got, and vice-versa no doubt.
In 1965 IIRC, at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, for an "International Assembly" they cooked fresh doughnuts every morning, us lads knew a sister who was cooking 'em, and used to pick up a good few Doughnuts that were still red hot ! (The sister cooking 'em was NOT hot, and married).
We travelled up there from Kent on a Special train, hired by the Org, all J.W's, us lads had a bet as to how many different young sisters we could snog on the return journey !

“Lazarus, come out!”
by Fisherman inmany people here have expressed faith in evolution and in other theories—but in all honesty, do you have any hope whatsoever in your heart or in the back of your mind ?
truthfully..

" It all depends how you see it ."
It all depends on whether you view it through the prism of Facts and Evidence, or if you ignore those two things. But each to his own !

BBC & Gary Lineker
by BoogerMan inwhether you like or loathe the guy, agree or disagree, surely he has a right to express his opinions freely on twitter?.
every bbc employee who appears on tv or speaks on the radio, should now be paranoid about any opinions they've put on their social media accounts, because if the bbc are prepared to censor/silence lineker, they'll go for anyone.. oops: looks like the bbc can dictate what their staff can & can't say in their social media accounts.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/guidance/individual-use-of-social-media.
pity they weren't as strict with their high profile paedophile, mr. savile..

" Breaking Godwin's Law is the hallmark of shallow thinkers."
I agree that is often the case, but it is difficult to think of an analogy that is more striking than the one Lineker used, about the language of this U.K Government. If you can think of a more striking one, I would be obliged ! I often get tempted to use the rise of Fascism in the 20's and 30's as an example on other Sites when commenting on matters political, but old Godwin speaks in my ear, and I struggle for another.
Certainly one thing Lineker has done is broken the Media silence against the language of Mind Controlling propaganda.

" It's commonly viewed as a secret society for a reason." Not a secret society, we all know it exists, but rather " a society of secrets" , secrets SO embarrassing they hope to keep a lid on it !

Ah Norwich ! went there a couple of times, by car, we had to park the car a little way from the Stadium, a walk along the canal to go get, left the wife and kids , went to get the car, but, Lo and Behold ! a handy Pub right on the towpath ! Phizzy had a crafty pint, before collecting the family, then went out for some more in the evening !
Got to make the whole thing as pleasant as you can, ain'tcha ?
I found out after I left the org. some sensible JW's hired a barge and moored next to the Pub as their accommodation !

Chance or intelligent design?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA incofty could you answer how the single cell came about by chance?.
i know the argument for complexity in nature says natural selection over billions of years but this could not explain the complexity of the single cell the building blocks of life?.

I found this an interesting comment on another Site about Abiogenesis :
" Before DNA was RNA, which serves a similar function but is less stable. Before that there was no life. The RNA came first - it forms spontaneously on basaltic glass. Life started when a bit of self-replicating RNA got caught up in a lipid bubble."
