  I wish continueing success for Steven Unthank in his efforts, it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

  WHY DON'T WE ALL E-MAIL THE D.O.P RIGHT NOW, NOTHING TO LOSE, LET HIM KNOW THE WORLD IS WATCHING.

  Be respectful, we only need to say we are concerned that should this case fail the WT will not take note of their responsibility to care for the vulnerable, and so around the world many more will suffer, as these poor children have.

  THEY ARE MANY HOURS AHEAD OF US IN TIME, WE NEED TO DO THIS NOW!!!!!

  I bloody read that post twice Cantleave, and still I missed a typo, good job I'm so humble, or I would be upset.

  I agree that the Gnostic stuff sort of suits the WT mind set (should that have a hyphen Cantleave?) and some of the Gnostics more fanciful ideas were no worse than Chazzer Russells.

  After I had pointed out some of this stuff to a JW lady, that the bible ha no provenance etc, her husband told her not to talk to me anymore as I would "destroy her faith". Probably true that, as her faith is based on lies, falsehoods and a severe lack of information.

  the Ireland branch--> issues over the years

  hi all.

  the irish branch has had lots of drama over the years from john may in the 1980s to the recent removal of practically all the branch committee in the mid noughties to its being closed down quite recently.. i heard on the grapevine that two of the branch committee had actually come to physical blows and there was blood on the carpet.. also many many witnesses spoke of the totalitarian environment there.. does anyone have anything further to corroborate or add to this?.

  The article is not bad, if a little biased in a way that I sympathise with. It is a pity when presenting this kind of thing that someone is not assigned to proof read and remove the typos, they take away from the impact and make it look as if it were produced by amateurs.

  This may sound like pedantry, but I know from past experience that many do not look on as authoritive something with typos in.

  The points made by the article are generally good, if not totally accurate, and come as a shock to most JW's and to many Christians, they have never thought about the provenance of the Bible, they just accept that it is the word of god and has come down to us more or less in tact.

  The great Terry on here has pointed out many times that we do not have autograph copies of the books, all we have is a translation of copies of multiple copies.

  The earliest copy we have is from the 300's AD.

  We have no way of knowing what changes and errors have been introduced.

  The Bible , (the established canon), and the deutero- canonical books too ,have no provenance.

  To base life and death doctrines on something of this doubtful provenance is foolish, to be kind, or bordering on lunacy to be more accurate.
