  Remember the Revelation book?

  i recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.

  i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.

  who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

  When I was beginning to wake up, as we "studied" the Rev Book, I had some fun in the Group Study with introducing the information that the JW Org had joined the U.N. I couched my answer in such a way that the Elder taking the study, quite an intelligent guy, but a " Society man" 100% , could not actually take issue with what I said, but looked extremely uncomfortable, and somewhat nonplussed.

  I really enjoyed doing that. Of course, it made no impression on most there, they just didn't see the significance of what I was saying, but I am sure the Elder did, I hope it added to his Cognitive Dissonance !

  It is not possible to predict how this is going with any certainty. But it seems likely that it will be around for a good while,and there is evidence it is already mutating, so a Vaccine will have to be effective against any new strain as well as the existing one to make a dent in this.

  Don't think short term, as in " Oh the Curve is on a downward trend, we can return to normal", no you cannot, you must be just as vigilant and sensible when the downward bit starts, as it goes down the slope , yes, but that is just what happens, it does not denote the virus is on the way out, or anywhere near being beaten.

  This bastard thing is with us for a while, the only way to beat it, is deprive it of hosts, both animal and human. That is a very tall order in this modern world. I hope you all stay well and safe.

  What do JW's believe about the Anti Christ? Been out for 20 years, don't remember lol...

  i was watching a video saying with tongue in cheek saying that trump was the antichrist listing all the scriptures and prophecies... was kind of funny but it made me wonder what the heck do jw's believe?

  was it that it's other religions or some such garbage?

  i don't seem to recall it being a specific person but honestly i don't recall at all.

  Have You Isolated Yourself Because of the Virus 🦠?

  some people i know have not gone out of their houses in weeks.

  some will walk near their homes and run right back in.

  meanwhile, i go food shopping and i see tons of people, many with masks and gloves on..

  My wife and me are both over 70, have health problems, and up until last week I was a smoker, so very vulnerable. We have been isolating since 12th March, all food and booze is delivered. The main problem is boredom, and that "caged" feeling.

  For me, it was a great thing to sit outside and have a smoke, god I miss my Cigars ! it passed the time, and relaxed me, but, I know it made me more vulnerable, so had to stop.

  I walk daily, and always meet some nice people, stay 6 feet apart, and have a chat, so it isn't too bad, just miss days out by the Sea, eating in Restaurants, drinking in Pubs, and....... my Cigars !

  Really though, I am grateful that it is all not too painful at all, the only thing that makes me ache, is not being able to see and cuddle my grand kids, but even that will come back.

  Saving Money While Stuck At Home

  so you're stuck at home, you may be worried about your income, welcome to the world of filling your stuck-in-the-house time with saving some money!.

  here in canada, our energy costs are going up because we have a carbon tax.

  today, in the middle of the crisis, trudeau is raising it by 50%, probably as some perverse "thank you" to all the truckers delivering vital goods.

  Thanks for the advice Simon. Here in the U.K we don't have a price hike at present on utilities, but for Old Farts like me, on a small pension, any money saving advice is much appreciated.

  I have found that because of self-isolating and all the spare time, I have been saving money, ordering On-Line out of necessity, but finding ever cheaper deals for all sorts of things, even including delivery. Just one example, we love a decent Wine, but can't afford top-notch stuff, but I am now importing direct from Vineyards in Portugal, saving about 20% per bottle on the stuff we used to get anyway from the Supermarket, and delivered too ! There are a number of other things, going to the manufacturer, or their chief agent direct, O.K, we have to order in greater quantity, but it is all non-perishable, and cheaper and delivered.

  It just shows that really I should have put some effort in, and not been so lazy, before this all kicked off !

  Applauding the NHS (UK)

  hi, just curious to know if anyone knows of witnesses not applauding the nhs on thursday night.

  all i know is for some reason my mum and aunt only went out to listen but didn’t take part in the applause.

  not sure if they were just being strange or if there has been instruction not to take part.

  We should pay these wonderful people who care for us when we are ill, and all the people keeping everything running, WHAT THEY DESERVE ! The people who have proved themselves to be the most vital are often the worst paid.

  Do away with the Rich, we can't afford them anymore.

  People Are Starting To Get Cabin Fever!!!

  We've got Beer on the go, 40 pints ready in about a fortnight, lots of seeds got planted, other jobs got done, but saved a few jobs, because boredom can be a problem.

  What helped me pass the time a bit, and we have been voluntarily isolating since 12th March, was going outside for a smoke, but seeing as I have Asthma, and smoking makes you more likely to catch this thing, I gave up last Wednesday, I still wander outside, but with even less reason than before.

  I think I will start one of the bigger jobs that I have put off for ages, the only problem is, with lockdown, if you haven't got everything you need, you can't just buzz down the nearest supplier, they are shut. Have to order On-line, still getting deliveries O.K, food, Bird Seed, Wine etc. Looking forward to when it all gets rolling again....one day.

  I want to challenge Any JW, past or present, to show me, From Scripture a couple of things;

  where it is commanded/commissioned that a group of people should build a house of worship called a kingdom hall??

  ---i have a lot of relevant scriptures on that subject.

  i would also like to see where it says in the word of yahweh that he chose a man-made organization to be his "voice" that he speaks through; .

  If you don't want to waste your time too much with any believer, just ask them for proof of their god that will stand any scrutiny.

  Once they have failed at that, their religion does not matter one bit anymore.
