  We in the UK are dealing with COVID all wrong

  yeah, so boris johnson has plunged the whole of the uk back into a second lockdown.

  kids are still going to school (thank goodness!

  ) but this second lockdown is ruining the economy and killing small businesses.. the first lockdown was forgivable because, at the time, nobody knew what we were dealing with.. but now, we know more and more about covid-19.. it is lethal to elderly people (the average age of deaths with covid in the uk is 82 years - the average age of deaths without covid in the uk is 81 years).. it is also lethal to obese people and people with diabetes.. i'd imagine hiv+ people are another vulnerable group.. but to everyone else, catching covid is fairly similar to catching the flu.

  Here in the U.K we do get some info. on the number of beds in Covid wards that are occupied. The last Report I heard was a few days ago, I can't remember the figures, but a in a few areas of the Country were full, or near full, other areas not so much under pressure.

  With the specially built " Nightingale Hospitals" which the Government crowed about, after underfunding the NHS for over a decade themselves, and the previous New Labour Government having done the same, they realised they had no one to Staff them !

  A suggestion was made that they could use Military medical People, but they found that having made many of these folk redundant in recent years they did not have enough or them either !

  Yes, the Government are not dealing with Covid in any sensible way, they are now hoping the various Vaccines will extract them from the mire, which is to a great extent of their own making.

  ok, right or wrong, i’ve attempted to ignore all jw related “stuff” in my life.

  i fired my mom many years ago from babysitting for violating the no proselytizing to my kids rule.

  shortened version of long story: i paid her for childcare (fair, going rate), super witness!

  I think it is a good idea to get away as far as possible from all things JW, though I do come on here myself ( too much).

  With the good friends I had as a JW, and many were, real friends , doing lots of stuff for us , because of friendship, not just because we were JW's too, I now think of them as though they live in another Country, and I will probably never run in to them again, same with my JW family which now shuns me.

  So, in fact, I think of them rarely. My current friends, 99% never JW's plus a handful of XJW's, I treasure. One, never a JW, recently passed away, he was only 72, I sobbed and grieved far more over his passing than I did over close JW family members who died, he was like a Brother to me. I had more true love and friendship from him than from any JW.

  Even talking about things JW is a rarity in our House, but we have been out for years.

  Here in the U.K we are assured that no fraud takes place. But in our General Election in Dec. '19 there were a lot more than normal Postal Votes, The BBC Political Reporter Laura Kuennsberg (spelling ?) blabbed out that they were in the majority Votes for the Conservative ( = Republican) Party, BEFORE THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT !

  Now, how did she know ? The count of all Votes was done by a Company that was owned by Conservatives and was set up shortly before the G.E and was wound up a few days after the G.E.

  But we are assured Voter fraud or similar did not happen. ?? We have just received a letter from our Conservative leader of our Conservative County Council urging us to Vote by Post and enclosing the Forms.

  Nothing suspicious about this move either, which has never ever been done before, I suppose ?

  Oh dear, those Christians in the JW Org pic. would have been in the backroom in front of a J.C. for "Brazenly" going against the instructions of Jesus ! Ha Ha !

  I think we probably need the erudite Poster Corney, or someone similarly educated in Matters Legal to explain, but I would think, as usual, it is about the $$$.

  This may well be used to try to legally sever the link between the individual Congregations and JW Org, so that in any legal action against a Congregation JW Org would not have to pay out, all liability would fall entirely upon the Congregation, and probably be borne by the Elders.

  Watch out Elders ! you could lose your life savings and your home !

  I remember their excuse being they did not feel it applied to them as an Organisation. I hope it is forcibly shown to them that if they do not voluntarily compensate victims to a higher level than the redress Scheme would, then the State will take action to make sure the JW Org pays up some other way.

  The whole thing springs from the fact that they never felt "it applied to them as a an Organisation" to do the Morally Right thing and protect the vulnerable, and if that failed, to Report straight away to the Authorities.

  They are an Organisation lacking Morals and basic human empathy and compassion.

  They only care about $$$.

  The funny bit about the illustration of them going D to D with Scrolls is that very little, in fact only just possibly part of the Gospel of Mark was written before the Temple Destruction in 70 C.E, so they would only have had scrolls of the Hebrew Bible, calling on ordinary folk who were illiterate, so why carry them ? and what relevance did they have to the Good News about Jesus and the Kingdom ? They had no written Gospels about what Jesus supposedly said and did. Unless they carried copies of the Letters of Paul, but the genuine ones were actual letters to actual Congregations, not something that would convince the Public at the time, " Oh, our mate says in this Letter.......". About as powerful as " Bloke down the Pub said...". And Paul does not say much about Jesus actual life or words and teaching does he ?

  After 70 C.E what were they going to say as they went D to D ? Oh sorry, all our expectations of Christ's return seem to be dashed ?

  It is all so farcical, and anachronistic. Any Preachers about Jesus would have had rivals too, a number of groups started after his death, with very different ideas and teachings about him. Paul's movement was just one of them.

  "Bible Numbers" are really suspect, and should be viewed with deep suspicion. Notice the times the number 70 comes up ? Literary device, the writers loved that number, it bears no relation to historical fact.

  Multiples of 7 or 70 are used, 490 years for example, again, a literary device

  Of course the symbolic numbers have no meaning in reality, and the numbers for Israelites and others given in various situations are made up too, as is the whole History of the Jews in the Bible, with the exception of a bit of accuracy in the Book of Kings, but only some of it.

  Johnson in this time of Covid has NEVER followed the Science. Whitty and Valence the two "experts" he puts on a podium from time to time only repeated what they were told to say, they did not present the known Science, even advocating Herd Immunity at one point.

  The Science that WAS known from the early 20th Century experience was that in Plague conditions, what LUHE says in the quote above worked, without a vaccine. When such measures were not put in place, or were relaxed, the disease rampaged again.

  This was pointed out by a good number of people on Social Media, very early, before our fist lock down. The scandal of throwing Tax payers money at people and companies not equipped to deliver is what has got us to where we are today.

  This Government ,under Johnson, has so far done nothing right.

  Our Economy is about to take another huge hit because of Brexit. Next year does not look good, even when the vaccines have been administered.
