Why disfellowship must be eliminated for the survival of the WT itself
by TheScientist inthis topic i digress about why the watchtower relaxing the rules of disfellowship is essential for its survival.
many things i'm going to say are not my ideas, some are, the point is, i'm condensing everything in a logical and concise way.. the first thing we have to keep in mind is that the wt's main objective in instituting disfellowship has always been not to lose members because of the damage that a dissident could do, or to avoid gaining new members because of the bad reputation of a confessed sinner in the his/her region.
in the end, the more active members, the more money to the coffers.. in this case of disfellowship due to apostasy, to avoid any spark, texts were sought out of context that even prohibited saying "hi".

With the Disfellowshipping thing, this may have already been said, but they are never going to drop it, who gets rid of an effective tool, where nothing else will perform the same function ?
They may modify the criteria for DFing, similar to how they keep lowering the Bar to qualify as an MS or Elder, they may RAISE the bar to get yourself DF'd
For example, if it is "sexual sin", stressing to Elders that the errant one must be given every chance over a period of time to repent, "it may take some time to bring a person to Repentance". And similarly when dealing with Doctrinal differences more time than in past may be spent "re-adjusting" the person, which in reality means getting them to shelve what they have discovered.
And if the Elders have decided a person is a " Spiritual Danger", time may be recommended so as to persuade the person to keep their trap shut.
In the past, as in my case, the very first 2 Elder "Shepherding call" was only with the purpose of getting a quick DFing accomplished, the Org. may discourage that attitude.

My decision.
by MissDaSilva ini’ve decided to disassociate from the jw organisation.
i cannot be part of a community that blatantly rejects the sacrifice of jesus in that demonic memorial ritual.
amazing what information you find when you start researching.. i’m writing my letter and posting it to the kingdom hall this morning.

It is good to get a resolution, to stop the "Hounding", and really although I advocate a "Fade" to most people at first, because D.Aing can be done later, the result is much the same.
We "faded" because we had close family still in, some have passed away now, but the remaining ones talk to us on occasion, but effectively they shun us in most ways, and of course we never hear from old J.W folk we lived among for many decades.
So, well done ! may you now put J.Wism behind you, if you need help with info. we are here for you, and JWFacts.com is an excellent resource. I advise researching anything that gives you fear, like the "Armageddon" nonsense for example. It is necessary not to just take yourself out of the religion, but to take the religion out of you.
All the Very Best to you and Yours for a Wonderful Free Future !

The elders came calling. 😹

Just another tip, it may be that after one or two or more attempts to meet with you, the Elders decide to send a Letter. That happened to two people who used to post on here, what they did, because they knew it would give them the most satisfaction, and the result would be the same, was to NOT open the Letter, and merely return it by Post to the K.H.
I hope though you are able even now to "fade", Elders are lazy bastards, and if they decide you are not a "Spiritual danger", they may just leave you alone, here's hoping !

Avoid any meeting if possible, especially with 2 witnesses, even a sister is a second witness.
I played the Depression card, I don't know if you would want to, or could pull it off, but it worked for me, just got a lovely Letter, and no problem since, that was over a decade ago.
I said in the letter I sent that I would be in touch if I felt the need for "Spiritual help" LOL.
Good luck whatever, and may 2024 be a very Happy and fulfilling year for you and yours !

That Article is SO good ! it has some phrases in it that I might pinch, and one I had already thought of, describing the J.W beliefs as equivalent to those of "Flat-Earthers".
A really Good Read ! thanks for Posting !

New GB update - beards are now perfectly ok (no really!)
by FFGhost into save y’all the agony of having to sit & watch lett (looking even more puffy and jaundiced than the last time), here is a summary:.
beards are now perfectly fine for anyone & everyone, including ministerial servants, elders, and “special full time servants” (cos and betheliites).. but don’t go and feel “vindicated” — even if you knew you were right about beards, you shouldn’t run ahead of jehovah’s “chariot”.. so there you go.. if you need explicit permission from a puffy steroid addled facial contortionist with an increasingly ridiculous combover to make personal grooming decisions…you might be in a cult .

"Further more, with the passing of time, the governing body have noticed that...... "
By Christ they are quick on the uptake...... NOT !
I pointed this out when I grew a beard in 1975 ! That respected people in responsible positions wore a beard in Europe, and around the World, but the parochial vision of the G.B has only just realised it, nearly 50 years later !
