"We're in the last days!"
by BoogerMan innot just jw's, but countless others (evangelicals etc.
) are claiming that we're in the "last days.".
but........bible students/jw's have been spouting this fake message since the 19th century!!!!!!.

Old Phizzy, as DOC says, is very aware of his mortality, but being an atheist, I am not bothered by the thought of it, as theists, and J.W's are strangely, they seem to fear death.
O.K, I'm hoping I have a few more years left perhaps, and as "only the good die young" I should make it to 120, being such a wicked old bastard.
What a way to live your life though ! as J.W's do ! in fear of Armageddon, afraid to leave the Org. in case they "do not make it", so living a life that is not their own, until they die. All for nothing.
I will die, one day, the World will go on, as usual, but the J.W Org. will wither and die, not so very long after I am Pushing up the Daisies.
These are indeed my Last Days, but I enjoy every one of them, I do what I bloody well like, and like what I bloody well do !
I was never truly happy, in a deep lasting way, ever in my life, until I left the Org. and its constant Doom and Gloom, with the Carrot on a Stick of some fanciful deluded idea of "Paradise".

First Church Service at 55 years Old
by SouthCentral ini went to a christening at a church today, a black church.
it was an incredible experience!!
women were an active part of the service, and the people were very welcoming.

My wife and me went to a number of Services in different denomination Churches when we first left, we were invited for a number of reasons by friends who attended those Churches.
By that time we were both atheists, and went out of respect for friends. It was noteworthy to us that a friendly welcome was given to us, though strangers, in each, and it seemed genuine and warm, whereas in a J.W K.H there was a forced friendliness and a wariness, "Who are these "worldly people" ? ".
One independent Church we went to, twice, the building had been a traditional Church of England Parish Church, but had been taken over by a group of local Christians, and was run by a wonderful guy, who was a great speaker. The content of his "Sermons" was always about practical Christian living, how we could help each other, AND the wider community, even people in need overseas.
The welcome there was the warmest we had received. It was a vibrant community of Christians, mostly families, nobody dressed up as we J.W's were expected to do back then, I was the only guy wearing a Tie ! even the Preacher had an open necked shirt, the older kids all sat together.
If we had been of a mind to join a Church, that would have been our choice. I even liked the Christian Band that sung and played, what an Atmos !
This is what the Org. seems to be aiming for, but what they will never be able to do is fake sincerity.

Where Adam and Eve Vegan/Vegetarian?
by KerryKing injws seem to firmly believe that before the flood mankind eas vegan or at least vegetarian.. however, in gen 1:24,25 it says that god created livestock (domestic animals) and beasts of the eart (wild beasts).. why would adam and eve need livestock if they were vegan and naked?
wouldn't need wool or hide for clothing, nor meat for food.
possibly for dairy products only?

Of more interest to me is the answer to the question " Is a Vegan Burger made up of whole Vegans ? ".

Every Bible Writer maintained his predictions would be fulfilled shortly after the time he wrote his words. They were not.
There are no Bible predictions to be fulfilled, those predictions have already failed.
There are no "last days " , unless mankind does not solve the Climate Crisis.

Cedar Point Ohio 🙄🙄🤦🏻♂️
by xaminewt ini started doubting the organization when i was 15. i spent the next 12 years doing in-depth research involving numerous emails with bible scholars and scientists.
i finally left the organisation 3 years ago.
technically i was never actually a jw as i was never baptised, so i’m not being shunned.

I rejected the Cedar Point Ohio nonsense, when I was in my late teens , in the late 1960's.
I simply could not believe that a Bible Prophecy would be fulfilled in Rutherford and a few followers holding some small Convention, unnoticed by the World.
Sadly I went no further, and did not question properly the 1914 thing until many decades later, I do remember my mother telling me about the Ray Franz thing, 1981 ? and saying "They are saying they do not believe in 1914 !". I recall thinking at the time, "I'm not sure I do either", but still went no further then.
It was years later that I sat down and thought " I'll read the Book of Daniel today, as though I've never read it before, and without W.T. "Spectacles" on ", of course from then on the 1914 thing was blown out of the water, entirely, I researched some more, and shortly after walked away for good. The whole House of Cards that is their unique teachings fell down, just using the Bible, and what it REALLY said !
I was a Lover of Truth, and could no longer associate with a "religion" which taught Lies.

PIMO or FIMO
by bamse ini think we need another designation.
what about fimo for formally in mentally out when you are not removed, but do not attend meetings etc.
then pimo can mean one who dabble with, attend some meetings, but are mentally out.

Apostates are still public enemy number one - WATCHTOWER August 2024
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/rqyqibpnuos?si=zayoa2c-zvmj9_br.
under the theme "help for those who are removed from the congregation" study article 35 in august 2024 wafchtower that deals with the many changes the organization introduced recenly we specifically look into paragraphs 14 and 15 that deal with the way that we now treat disfellowshipped ones, or more accurately removed ones , since this is the new term.
and see how they still try to micromanage their members down to the finest detail and how still apostates and more accurately active apostates are public enemy number one.
-
Phizzy
The kind of " Apostate" you describe is the one most feared by the Org.
Because such a person does not SAY anything they can condemn, but just by leading a happy and successful, and hopefully fulfilled life, it gives the lie to all the G.B says about those who leave, without saying a word !
The Org, will try to counter this, by actually identifying them as Apostates, using a correct definition of the word, i.e they have "Stood away from formerly held beliefs".
We of the "Faded Class" will merely smile at their desperation, and Keep Calm and Carry On !

Vice President Kamala Harris…your thoughts??
by minimus ingood pick?

If the Dems. want to win they need a Candidate who is Charismatic, a Powerful Speaker and Debater, has Gravitas that will garner the respect of World Leaders, and has an Integrity not easily impugned, and can actually DO the job of POTUS.
Harris has NONE of that !
There are too few Weeks after the Conference for someone to achieve Victory if they are not of the calibre as above.
But as Lage Donors and their $$$ pull all the strings, a major mistake, or rather, deliberate error, will be made, I predict.
Such a shame, a candidate such as I describe could not just beat Trump, but ensure a Landslide for the Dems. Ain't gonna happen, I fear.

Has the Organization threatened to disfellowship those who state views countering those of the Slave?
by Vanderhoven7 indo you have quotations from watchtower literature regarding how to handle those contributing to disunity in the congregation?.
-
Phizzy
I would suggest Van you refer to the latest iteration of the "Shepherd the Flock" Book. There you will see, IIRC, that the definition of Apostasy boils down to exactly what you say, so if not prepared to retract what was said, someone called before a J.C would be DF'd.
This is how it was when two Elders, on two occasions, a few months apart, tried to trap me in to not affirming the "Loyalty" question, this was posed to me in several ways, in different words, but every time I was supposed to reply that I totally went along with G.B in every way. All this when they claimed to be "Shepherding" me !
I dodged the bullet, and was not DF'd or DA'd. But one has to be nimble and on the ball when it gets to that.
