Interesting experience last night
by Gojira_101 ini was hired to interpret for a church event in a neighboring town last night.
i did have a brief moment of thinking demon's would be jumping out to get me as i walked through the front doors of the church, hahahaha, not really, but it did feel awkward at first and i stuck very close to the other interpreter who asked me to help her.
i was definitely out of my comfort zone.. anyway last night i met james walker from the watchmen fellowship.

Rooster, I've been here just over a year now and I guess I felt pretty much the same as you. I notice some new ones jump in feet first and seem to make friends (or at least make themselves noticed) almost immediately. Just take it slowly, get to know people by reading their comments and add your own when you feel like it and you'll soon find the ones you seem to have something in common with. If you're like me it'll take a several months! LOL

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME.....let's rebuild!
by Terry inokay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.
i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.
because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.

Bethel Speaker- get rid of Facebook!
by Kensho inspecial assembly day (sad) bethel speaker ( a very good speaker i might add) in his talk " follow your spirit-directed conscience gave example of and elder and his family.
he noticed his wife and daughter spending a lot of time morning noon and night on facebook, it almost seemed like that is all they did, so as a spiritual head decided to see what they were constantly looking at, "let me see what you are spending so much time looking at on facebook said the elder".
the wife explained this is how we keep in contact with the "friends", elder started to look at her page and she was correct, there he found friends in the cong.

I think they should shut the FB group completely and start a forum attached (or linked) to their website. (maybe that's what they're doing?)
Anyone could join either as themselves or anonymously and everyone would be happy. No one would be forced joined to it, or be outed. It would be open for all to see, or have private areas just for registered members.
The FB group was a disaster waiting to happen, who knows how many people have had their real identity exposed without their permission and their JW family and friends being able to see that the'd joined a FB group called 'Association of Anti-Watchtower Activists'...............

Adultery in the Bible
by BU2B ini know that when you take a marriage vow, faithfulness is expected and either party going outside that bond is wrong.
however as i read the bible i seem to notice that in the old testament a woman having relations with anyone not her husband was adultery, however the only way a male can commit adultery is to have relations with another married woman, thereby infringing on another mans wife.
if a married man was to have relations with an unmarried woman or prostitute, this isnt considered adultery.

Jesus attitude towards the woman who committed adultery that they wanted to stone, says it all to me. He came to show us who God really was.
He said 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone'. When they had all gone, he asked where her accusers were. On seeing none he said to her 'neither do I accuse you'.

I've got a 7/1 ratio of non-JW to JW. So far more are not JWs on my list. I keep my JW friends in a separate list. I love my non JW friends, most of them are wonderful people, I've collected them over several years and some I've got to know really well, meeting quite a lot of them over the years and having lots of fun. I don't know what I'd do without it and I never 'obeyed' directions to not have it, to not make 'worldly' friends. I'm old enough and mature enough to be able to choose my own friends without anyone else's say so. Makes my blood boil! (always has!.... maybe that's why I'm here now.. LOL)

!!!!INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT!!!! this morning. Family member hears TTATT.
by Gojira_101 inso my husband's brother called him this morning.
i will call his brother earl (fake name :) so earl calls him out of the blue, hubby hasn't talked to him in a few months.
earl was never baptized and left jw's in his later teens and the family has also thought he was a low life and the black sheep of the family.

Bobcat, give me your take on this
by QC inbcat, looks like jesus is not michael.
i just shared this with new member "lost".
if this is correct it's another big eye opener for the jw r&f.

Thanks QC it should be interesting! :)
Crazyguy, I think it makes sense that Satan 'fell' or was ousted from heaven before Jesus was killed if you believe that he was not Michael. Michael the archangel and the army of angels battled with Satan so that the heavens would be cleared of enemies, ready for it's king who was soon to die and be resurrected and ascend to heaven. At least that's the way I see it. :)
