I reckon it'll be George, with a combination of Charles, Michael and possibly Spencer as his other names.

When I was very young I found it more of a 'curiosity' than anything else. As I got older and the JW propaganda kicked in I found seeing two guys or two girls kissing repugnant. I still felt though, that it was none of my business what people choose to do. When I started work there were two guys that were gay (not with each other), one was very camp and the other you would never have guessed. The 'camp' guy was lovely and I liked him a lot, the other guy was horrid. I realised that it doesn't matter what sexual orientation you have, everyone is a unique individual. In the 80's there seemed to be a lot of 'gays' in the music industry and also on TV and I got used to it and got to accept who they were as people and not whether they were gay or not. Since coming on here and reading so many heart breaking stories of young gay JWs and their struggles it made me realise how terrible it is for them growing up in such a homophobic atmosphere. The guilt and shame they feel, the struggle to hide what they are and not be able to be themselves and to be loved and accepted for who they are and the fight within themselves and finally breaking free to be who they truly want to be and live a happy life, something everyone is entitled to. Now I only feel disgust towards those unfeeling, hateful homophobes who can't see the unique person behind the label.

What's The STRANGEST Thing You've Seen At A Kingdom Hall?
by minimus ini saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.
he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.
it was cool.......

Conspiracy Theorists Vindicated?
by metatron inhttp://www.blacklistednews.com/new_studies%3a_%e2%80%98conspiracy_theorists%e2%80%99_sane%3b_government_dupes_crazy%2c_hostile/27293/0/38/38/y/m.html.
actually, i think creating conspiracies is one of the primary products of modern government.
if citizens aren't responsible and involved enough, then crafted lies follow.. .

A 'conspiracy theorist' is simply someone who doesn't accept everything at face value and doesn't naively believe everything the government tells them. Sure some things are over the top but it would be unwise to believe that the government tells nothing but the truth.

Open letter Re: Mr. Bowen, Mrs. Anderson
by Prime in"jws leaders need to mandate elder bodies to uniformly report abuse to the authorities no matter what jurisdiction; prohibit elders from being involved in any investigative process to decide guilt or innocence in place of the authorities; do away with the two-witness rule to determine, as if they were magistrates, guilt or innocence of someone accused; prohibit so-called repentant molesters from engaging in the door-to-door ministry, and always inform the congregation if a convicted or confessed molester is meeting with them.
" -barbara anderson .
this is another reason why the watchtower society doesn't require that the elders uniformly report abuse to the authorities no matter what jurisdiction.

You're right in saying that it's a 'societal problem', but when people are in leadership positions then those people are in positions of responsibilty. Especially towards the vulnerable.
Just recently the CofE recognised it's severe failings towards protecting children and have expressed remorse over it and a determination to change things.

Why can't the WTS do the same?
As for Barbara, she's been involved with this for many many years. Ever since the feedback she had from the articles she wrote for Awake about child abuse and realised how horrendous the problem was. She knows what she's talking about!

I like to use biblos.com for comparison of various translations but I'm planning to get myself a KJV, NIV, Holman study bible and the Wycliffe NT. In time maybe some others.
I really don't like the NWT anymore.

Do you think "Blondie" is addicted to reading Watchtowers and Awakes?
by booker-t ini remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

Thanks to Blondie's breakdown every week of the WT I can sit in the meeting (I am still in for family reasons) and I can ask myself 'what would Blondie make of this'. It helps me think critically and see the propaganda and control clearly between the saccharine words.
Sometimes I see different things than she does but it amounts to the same thing. She helps so many of us who are trapped inside not to fall for the propaganda each week. As well as being able to seemingly pull articles out of thin air where someone needs to find it and has been unable to.
Blondie is a diamond!

DEEP WRINKLES!!!!!!!
by DATA-DOG inany advice about what really works for deep wrinkles/ sun damage?
the new system is not here, and i worked outside for years without adequate protection from the sun.
i don't want to be overly-concerned about looks because we all age.

Actually I think guys look quite attractive with a few wrinkles myself... more distinguished looking. Us women can't get away with it so easily (more's the pity). Suncream is really important though in the summer, you don't want to get skin cancer.
