Didn't Jesus tell the Pharisees they were sitting on the seat of Moses? Well, the GB are sitting in the seat of Jesus.

Jehovah's Witnesses eat blood without thinking about it
by JW10581 inare jehovah's witnesses allowed to eat the widely used e120 or carmine that is made of insect blood.
it is the whole insect including its blood that is used and if you crush a living cochineal insect you will see its red blood color, i've seen that done on a program on bbc where they also refer to the red as the insect's blood.

I can't see how in certain creatures the blood can be poured out anyway. Insects for one, fish another.
Can you imagine the apostle Peter after catching his boatload of fish cutting the heads off each one before they ate them? Even Jesus and his disciples didn't go to those extremes!! (Correct me if I'm wrong LOL!)

If nothing else convinces me it's all a sham then this does!! He was either a charismatic deluded nutcase or else he was so shrewd he managed to get himself a luxury lifestyle that cost him nothing! Maybe it was both!
The fact that people believed every word he said is a scary thought. The fact that I believed it all is even scarier!!

DOC.. yes that struck me too! The Bible was only written for 144,000.. the NT only written for 'the anointed ones' The other 7.5 million can only gain salvation through the GB and the rest of humanity are stuffed....

Get to the KH. There the big stick is weilded, we can't live a 'normal' life. We need to control the evil inside us or we will be destroyed.
This is my endurance test, putting up every week with the way God's beautiful word is being twisted by this controlling organisation.

How Did I Ever Trust Something Called the 'Watchtower Society'?
by breakfast of champions ini mean, the 'watchtower society'?
just the name connotes some weird, masonic, secretive organization!.
how did we ever fall for this!.

Basically, I believed 1914! I was a born-in, all the reasons it gave for being the 'true religion'. I fell for it hook line and sinker. I was willing to go along with it because I believed it had Jehovah's backing. Even though there were many things that didn't feel right and I always had a rebellious streak against the control. My private life was just that, and if my conscience allowed me to do something then it was between me and God and no one else. I've also been a deep thinker.
Now I'm mentally free and I see it exactly for what it really is! That is liberating, they can't control my thoughts anymore!!!

What are the best Bible Translations?
by Londo111 ingrowing up in a jw family, my parents and my grandparents had many versions of the bible...not just the new world translation.
sometimes i read these.
but i always bought the hype that the new world translation was the most unbiased and most consistent in rendering hebrew and greek into the modern language.

For straight forward reading I quite like the Messenger Bible. Very easy to read everyday English. As long as I have other traslations to check with. Others I like are the NIV, NKJV, Holman and ASV. It's good to have several versions to be able compare and get the 'flavour' as well as different wording. I haven't ditched my NWT, but it's opened up a new understanding of the bible to have several versions to compare.

I'm an INFP like you Londo (and Cantnome)... here is ours. Got to say Londo I found just the same as you in the FS.. totally goes against my nature! LOL Always had a guilt trip for shirking it.. not now though!! I prefer to talk to people I already know than go 'cold calling'
INFP Characteristics
The MBTI works by indicating your personality preferences and tendencies in the following areas: 1) Extraversion vs Introversion, 2) Sensing vs Intuition, 3) Thinking vs Feeling and 4) Judging vs Perceiving. As you might have already guessed, the four-letter code for this personality type stands forIntroversion, Intuition, Feeling and Perceiving.
- Introversion (I): How do you relate to the world and focus your energy?
- Intuition (N): How do you perceive information?
- Feeling (F): How do you make decisions?
- Perceiving (P): How to you orient yourself to the outside world?
Some of the main characteristics of the INFP personality include:
- Loyal and devoted
- Sensitive to feelings
- Warm, caring and interested in other people
- Strong written communication skills
- Prefers to work alone
- Values close relationships
- Focuses on the "big picture" rather than the details
INFPs tend to be introverted, quiet and reserved. Being in social situations tends to drain their energy and they prefer interacting with a select group of close friends. While they like to be alone, this should not necessarily be confused with shyness. Instead, it simply means that INFPs gain energy from spending time alone. On the other hand, they have to expend energy in social situations.
INFPS typically rely on intuition and are more focused on the big picture rather than the nitty-gritty details. They can be quite meticulous about things they really care about or projects they are working on, but tend to ignore mundane or boring details.
INFPs place an emphasis on personal feelings and their decisions are more influenced by these concerns rather than by objective information. They also dislike conflict and try to avoid it. When conflicts or arguments do arise, they usually focus more on how the conflict makes them feel rather than the actual details of the argument. During arguments, they might seem overly emotional or even irrational. However, they can also be good mediators by helping the people involved in a conflict identify and express their feelings.
When it comes to making decisions, INFPs like to keep their options open. They often delay making important decisions just in case something about the situation changes. When decisions are made, they are usually based on personal values rather than logic.
Because they are so reserved and private, it can be difficult for other people to get to know INFPs. They tend to be quite devoted to their circle of close friends and family and place a high importance on the feelings and emotions of their loved ones. Much of their energy is focused inward and characterized by intense feelings and strong values. They tend to be very loyal to the people they love and to beliefs and causes that are important to them.
INFPs tend to be very creative, artistic and spiritual. They are often skilled with language, but may prefer to express their thoughts and feelings through writing. Because they have strong ethics and values, they also become passionate about advocating or defending their beliefs. While they feel strongly about their own values, INFPs are also interested in learning more about others and are willing to listen and consider many sides of an issue.
INFPs also have strong interests in making the world a better place. In addition to wanting to gain a greater understanding of themselves and how they fit into the world, they are also interested in how they can best help others. People with this personality type spend a lot of time exploring their own purpose in life and thinking about how they can use their skills and talents to best serve humanity.
Famous People with INFP Personalities
Based on their lives, behaviors and works, Keirsey has suggested that the following famous individuals fit the characteristics of an INFP:
- Aldous Huxley, author
- Audrey Hepburn, actress
- Helen Keller, activist and author
- Isabel Myers Briggs, creator of the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory
- J. R. R. Tolkien, author
- Laura Ingalls Wilder, author
- Princess Diana, Princess of Wales
- Peter Jackson, filmmaker
- William Shakespeare, playwright
Some famous fictional characters with INFP personalities include:
- Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes
- Anne, Anne of Green Gables
- Fox Mulder, The X-Files
- Wesley Crusher, Star Trek: The Next Generation
Best Career Choices for INFPs
INFPs typically do well in careers where they can express their creativity and vision. While they work well with others, they generally prefer to work alone. Some possible careers that might be a good match for an INFP include:
- Artist
- Counselor
- Graphic Designer
- Librarian
- Psychologist
- Physical Therapist
- Social Worker
- Writer

Luke 21:8 - Who Should We Really Avoid?
by Darth Rutherford inluke 21:8 - who should we really avoid?.
in his sign of the last days, jesus warned his followers: look out that you are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, i am he, and, the due time has approached.
(luke 21:8) jesus provides clues that help us identify who to avoid.

I stumbled across a comment about Russell's book 'The Time is at Hand' the other day and felt shocked. Before I had never paid close attention to Jesus words in Luke 21:8 (or Matt 24:23) as the WT has always led us to believe it applies to everyone else. But this shook me, especially as other translations use that same expression. It suddenly hit me what Jesus was actually saying.. 'DO NOT BELIEVE IT'!! 'DO NOT GO AFTER THEM'!!
So who do we obey? 'We must obey God as ruler rather than men'! (Acts 5:29)
Thanks for this very thought provoking piece DR. :)

Active JW understands flaws in WTS doctrine but believes in the Bible
by flamegrilled inperhaps this is a common topic for newbies on the site, but i have browsed for a while and not seen this exactly answered.. as an active jw who understands the flaws in wts doctrine, but believes in the bible, how do i identify a form of worship that meets all the criterea:.
1) by this all will know you are my disciples if you have love among yourselves (john 13:35).
sure i know that not all jws do this, and that people from other religions or non-religious people do this also, but as an official doctrine jws will not kill one another in war, and in general there is a genuine effort to exercise "agape" love not widely found in the world at large.. 2) preach the good news.
