At the end of the day the malawians had no real choice... be persecuted and even die now for loyalty to 'Jehovah's organisation' or be damned forever... what kind of choice is it?
The mexicans were left to feel it was 'up to their conscience'.
i had a few comments to make regarding paul grundy's jwfact.com website.
these comments are in no way meant to defend jws, but only to point out illogical statements.
i have actually found his website to be quite informative.. .

the 2012 calendar encourages all to examine "for family discussion" aspects of the covenants.
do that - but base your study on the bible only, and then you will form a true understanding of the covenants, especially the new covenant.
on the january/february page, this question is asked, "would abraham's seed prove to be just one individual, or would it be a composite seed?".
Baltar.. it is in the bible research section, so I guess yeah.. LOL There are still some of us left..
who is the governing body?.
put simply, the governing body purports to be a small group of anointed men (currently numbering 7) who represent a much larger group (numbering the thousands) of anointed individuals living on earth today.
in nearly every reference to their position of oversight over the worldwide brotherhood, the governing body refer to themselves as being representatives.... .
Cedars, I just checked out your 'makeweight scenario', and thought you made some good points. I have tried it myself once or twice as well as the how can you have such a thing as 'present truths'.. truth is truth, it never changes. Only lies change.
What a shame your thread got seriously hijacked. All I read after the first page was insults being hurled around and obscenities. Could you repost it and hopefully it might get the respect it deserves?

They use the argument of the two classes in Israel, natural and proselytes so they have something to back their claims on of two classes now... the anointed with their mediator and then everyone else with no mediator...

Love that song Designs!
i was just talking to my wife this morning about underlining or highlighting the wt paragraphs.. when i was 13 years old i would fight with my dad because i refused to highlight the answers.. the reason was because i wanted my comment to be genuine.
i felt that highlighting the "answer" made me lean on just using that as a crutch and not truly putting it in my own words.. i still hold that argument now, and i am 26. the only reason you would ever have to highlight something in a study book would be if you needed to remember it, maybe it is fairly complicated or subtle information that could be easily forgotten.. so many times in the wt the "question" has the same phrase that's in the paragraph!
it's literally like playing connect the dots.. so what i would do is not highlight during the family study.
Great thread! I remember in my teens in the 70's we were doing all those 'prophecy' books in the book study and I could never get my head round the way all the bad stuff applied to Christendom and all the good stuff to the 'anointed'.. the 'Jeremiah' class, the 'Elijah' class, and the Revelation book, how the angels 7 trumpets applied to 7 conventions in the 20's.... just never made any sense at all to me! I used to hate going to those studies...

I understand completely! 2nd gen born-in, can't fade, it's soul destroying.
dont push me under.
there is nothing wrong with that.. i am concerned about my standing with god.. i am concerned about how i will answer on judgement day.. i try to be a good father.. i try to be a good son.. i try to be a good husband.. is that crazy?.
yes, i have doubts.. the bible tells us to verify the truth.. we are encouraged to test things we are told.
Larry, you could be witing for me too... read your other stuff. So similar it's spooky!
Have you checked out Jwstruggle.com? It's an excellent website for fading Jws, Jws with doubts and questions. A lot of support.
watchtower leadership believe its own blood doctrine?
today i added a new article to my blog.
it examines the question of whether watchtowers top leadership believes its own doctrine on blood.
And what about the deal made with the Bulgarian government?
the prophecy clearly states that the destruction of jerusuelem will be 70 years before the cast to rebuild.
yet we know the destruction of jerusuelem was not 70 years before, it was at 586 bce, not 607 bce.
so this here is a clear contradiction between secular evidence and the bible.. atheists = win..
Think Londo's argument is spot on.. it's not the bible that's wrong it's the WT interpretation..
the only reason why they stick to 607BCE is so it can fit with their interpretation of 1914.. of course that is wrong too.. if it was right then they wouldn't need an overlapping generation...
