Are you TRAPPED by your believing mate into a hellish life of "pretend"?
by Terry inthe scene is familiar.. a jehovah's witness family with one member who has awakened from the lie.. the split comes down to an interesting wrong terminology:.
unbelieving mate vs believing mate.. .
the context of the entire family is as a jehovah's witness family.. damage has already been done.

Avoid Testing God in Your Heart - transcript of talk from District Convention 2012
by wannabefree infor those who don't care to listen to the talk but would like to know what was said ... here ya go .... .
avoid testing god in your heart.
imagine the ancient israelites as they were slaves in egypt, under an oppressive pharaoh.. god brought nine plagues on egypt and then announced a tenth; the firstborn would be struck down.. can you imagine the cry that went out in egypt when the firstborn died, including pharaoh's own son?.

I've been enlightened.
by Emery inive been lurking for quite sometime and now feel the need to come and noob it up.
it's taken a lot to bring me to read anything critical of the wts.
i used to glance at these apostate sites and shutter in fear because of the obvious demonic venom that can be found :) i am still an active witness and have been in this struggle to stay both in and be removed mentally from this organization.

Welcome Emery. Yes be careful of give away 'apostatisms'.. LOL ie.. 'Borg'...'J dubs'.. cognitive dissonance.. the truth about the truth.. etc.. or talk about stuff you've learned on here before it becomes general knowledge. Otherwise you'll be asked 'where did you get that from?'
There's another good website for JW strugglers.. www.jwstruggle.com very helpful for those who want out of the WTS but still believe in God. :)

For those of you who do not believe in corporal punishment...
by Chemical Emotions inthat is, for those of you who actually think that hitting children is wrong, what types of discipline do you find more effective?
i'm not a parent but when dealing with kids, i've seen that time-outs tend to make kids feel isolated and can really hurt them.
if they're near others and are checked up on frequently, it seems ok. but when they're completely ignored, that is just bad.

For some unknown reason whenever I wanted my kids to do as they were told, counting 1-10 worked miracles. Not sure how or why but it did. LOL
Sending them to their room until they apologised for bad behaviour worked too.
A board with coloured stars on for good behaviour was effective, once they reached a certain number of gold stars they received a nice reward. A reward for being good is always better than a punishment for being bad.

It's such a hard place to be and I have often wondered how I would cope if I decided to leave for good. I think maybe I would feel the same as you. I can only think that really the choice to leave is yours and yours alone. How they choose to react is their choice. At the moment yoiu can't cope with the pressure they are putting on you. Maybe the best course is to tell them that you are depressed and you are finding it difficult to cope with everything and you need some space. Could you and your family get away for a short spell away from everyone and everything? Just to try and recharge your batteries.
I wish you and your husband all the very best.

by 00DAD inyes it's true, i got to experience first hand the awesome magic powers of sparlock, the warrior wizard!tm.
this last weekend a friend of mine asked me if i could take him to the mechanic's to pick up his car after being serviced.
now this friend of mine (who is not and has never been a jw) is the the one and only friend that i've remained in constant contact with through the dark quarter century of my life when i was a witness.

I have listed 10 facts I have learned coming on this site, please feel free to add yours
by smiddy ini would like to list 10 facts i have learned since coming on this site ,facts i wasn`t aware of while in the movement and facts that have set me free from a religous movement that really is not interested in facts per se.. these are not listed in order of importance , and feel free to add your own list that applys to your circumstances.
1.the wtb&ts involvement with the u.n.. 2.the wtb&ts investments/shares some of which are questionable.. 3.their real estate properties around the world, millions if not billions, of $$$, while being a not for profit organization.
4.their pretense of obeying the law on" blood" while conveniently adjusting it to minimise their legal obligations in threat of a lawsuit.
