I have a friend. When I met his mom for the first time, I told her I was a Jehovah's Witness. She told me she studied when she was younger with her parents when they lived in Florida. She said they had to stop because her mom was more responsive than her dad and the Witnesses were trying to break them up.
Sick people we have in this world. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

When I was talking to a sister she said "evolution makes no sense because it's impossible for everything to come to be from one little bacteria." Because the universe being created in a week out of nothing by an invisible man makes SO much more sense.

Who really is the Evil Slave
by Nambo innow matthew 24 was written about the end times, which i do belive we are fast approaching, (as opposed to 100 years ago), at verse 48 we read of a religion that isnt a false religion for it has been classed as a slave of the "master" who is jesus.. now this evil slave has two identifying features i wish to ponder, it considers jesus arrival to be late, this implies a religion that has set an expectation of jesus arrival at a certain time for said non-arrival to be considered delayed.. it also beats its fellow slaves or religious brothers as a result of this delay.. .
the first point, which christian religions have been waiting for the masters arrival for such a long time that they now consider him delayed, obviously delayed from the time they where expecting him.. .
having read crisis of conscience and read accounts of annointed who have been disfellowshipped or beaten by thier fellow slaves in the organisation, and especially over the 1914 doctrine which ties the being beaten to the delay.. can you think of any other christian religion that fullfils the criteria for evil slave more than the watchtower society?.

That depends. Can you really call the Governing Body or the Watchtower in general, "Christian"?

Even the Witnesses know they're running out of money. They don't want to help anybody out by making it easier to have just one website. At the Assembly I went to last month, there was a talk. And the speaker gave everyone the most surprising advice ever given. He said the least used publication in Street Work is actually the bible. What a shocker. And also, to stop just handing out magazines cuz most of them end up in the garbage. Try to start bible studies. The organization wants people to stop wasting their products. They're closing Brooklyn Bethel and opening another in upstate NY. They might as well come out and say "We're losing money. We're cutting costs."

Kristina, just tell them you're an apostate, or straight forwardly say "Do not come back ever", and you'll be put as a "do not ring".

In this week's book study, when talking about the Stoics, the brother said "The stoics believed in logic and reason. As Jehovah's Witnesses, we do not want to use logic" I think that was the most idiotic sentence said on the platform.

Experience I had with a JW that called my phone the other day...........................
by andys inthe other day i had an experience over the phone with a jw that knows me and also she knows i am apostate, it was a coincindence on how this all happened, i had a talk with my roommate and told her that i want to move out of the house and find my own place so i be out on my own again, my roommate told me to put an add on craigslist to rent out the room in the house also i put my phone number out there on craigslist for anyone to call on the room, i all of a sudden get a call from this jw that i knew, she was looking for a room for her newhew(he is not in the jw religion) but right away she recognized who i was, this is how the phone conversation went:.
me: answer the phone, yes i have room for rent on craiglist (right away i recognize her and she recognizes me).
she: asking me about the room but also i can hear rudeness in her voice and at the same time i can hear in her tone of voice she is like uh-oh i am talking to an apostate so she is talking in a very careful way like i want to run away or get off this phone.

Common JW phrases that aren't in the Bible
by biometrics ini'm interested to know common phrases jehovah's witnesses use, but don't actually apear in the bible (even the nwt).
especially phrases most jw's would assume are in the bible.
e.g.. "paradise earth".

why i believe paul is a composite of numerous historical figures...
by mP infirstly im going to say paul didnt know jesus as a earthly person.
not once did he mention any fact that shows he knew about jesus being born in bethlehem, having a virgin mother, having apostles, dying for sins and so on.
the only writings where paul meats the apostles are basically in acts which many scholars argue was an attempt to merge the jesus story with that of paul.

I never trusted Paul's writings all because of this one verse.
1 Corthinians 7:25 ~ " Now concerning virgins I have no command from the Lord, but I give my opinion as one who had mercy shown him by the Lord to be faithful. " (NWT)
The Governing Body loves to quote several verses afterwards to show that it's better to be a single person than a married person because you can "do more for Jehovah." They never once mention this previous verse. Paul admits his advice was not divine but was just his own opinion! Makes you wonder what else in his writings was just his opinion.
Also with all the shipwrecks, stonings and beatings he has been given, I wonder if he was "all there" during his later years. -

Message at yesterdays assembly
by isaacaustin ina relative of mine was at the assembly yesterday and was appalled at the message givien before lunch:.
she heard them blast higher education...then warn to not miss meetings for work...then they gave the stupidest illustration i ever heard- they said that it is true that supporting your family is important...but not to give it too much importance and said it is like trying to cross a busy street.
they said if you see a car a long distance off it is ok to cross, if you are too careful you will never cross the street.

" One of the things that has made me sad is the sight of a 17-year-old, bright, just at the start of his life, being continually dissuaded from any kind of higher education so that he can pioneer and eventually go to Bethel "where they get a far better education than anything the world has to offer" said my pioneer study conductor."
Last week at the assembly I attended, there was one brother I believe was 21 years old. His experience was that in high school, he said the exact same thing to his guidence counselor and that he wanted to "serve Jehovah [his] god more fully."
Also, has anybody noticed that Jehovah's Witnesses refer to Him, as "Jehovah, my God"? I thought if there was one God, he was for everybody.
