Even as a Jdub, I was always a little disturbed how every picture dipicted people having almost souless (for lack of a better word) faces.

Another sad non jw falling for a baptised jw girl story
by spirituk inok ,so this is my story , this jw girl came on vacation in my country as a friend of my girl-cousin who is not a jw but were classmates at uni .
my cousin introduced her to me but she didnt tell me that she was a jw from the very first moment we flirt each other.we went on beach ,on bars ,cafes etc and she acted so wordly ,in fact i thought she could be a good one night stand with her behaviour .never saw anything weird about her that could lead me to question something, with the peak in the club where we danced together while hugging very passionatly .
i tried to kiss her that night but she kept her distance , i didnt notice any bad on that.anyway, next day we flirt again at the the beach and at night too .

You poor guy. You really think you love her. Even worse if you do, I was in your position and I was also the one in her position who fucked over a really nice girl. I'm just going to post what I posted in another thread. At least you're not considering converting for her (hopfully).
-As a teenager I was very shy. I had friends but meeting new people was tough. I met a JW girl. We would talk constantly from morning till late at night. I was shocked that I was able to have an interesting conversation with someone for 13 hours everyday! We instantly became best friends. One of my other friends was also very close to her. One day he kept asking her if I liked her. I kept denying it. He said that she admitted that she had feelings for me.
So I asked her out that night.
She broke down crying. She said she liked me too but she couldn't. She explained her stance as a JW and how they don't date outside of their religion. For months we had this weird relationship where we would try to be as close as possible (walking her to class, calling her at night, saying 'I love you') but without any physical contact. She brought me to a meeting and their memorial (kinda like easter) and I started taking interest. I started attending meetings twice a week and a bible study and I started to really believe in them.
Well something happened in her family so I let her have her space. I didn't want her keeping our "relationship" in mind because I knew she had a bit of guilt of it and I figured thats not what she needed at the time. After a month she said she doesn't feel the same way about me and she was sorry. I lied and told her I felt the same and that was the reason why I wasn't around as much. I lied to make her feel better. And we remained friends.
I continued to study. Fast forward a bit, went through depression, I was betrayed by some of the JWs, I forgave and kept on, almost killed myself. And one day while sulking thinking why I wasn't happy when I "should be", why all my friends who are in college seem to be doing great if college is so bad (at least by JW standards), I was on the internet and found some information. I forgot what it was but I remember being confused and deciding that if this was the "truth" I shouldn't have any problems doing research. I have always said that I believed that JW's had the truth. If mormons had it I would study with them so I decided I needed to be fair to myself in this and do as much research as possible.
It wasn't the truth and I realized they were the cause of my depression and I needed to get the hell out.
If you want to be with this girl (similar to my case, she was my first love), I suggest you give up. She's not going to go out with you unless you are baptized (which takes years [I did it in 2]), have a full time job, and of course thats if she agrees as well (JW's are encouraged to be single so they can do more for Jehovah).
I loved this girl for years and I had to give her up. It may be tough for you right now but it's a lot better than wasting years of your life and then deciding to quit and having HER shun you (because of THEIR policy) and everybody else.At least right now you can still talk to her. That's probably as far as you're gonna go but still better than anything else you're hoping for.
BTW, JWs need a chaperone whenever they go on a date and no touching (including hugs and kisses)

Let me tell you a story of someone who was once in your position.

I just going to respond to Ethos post on the first page. I don't usually post but I'll share an experience on this one.
Elders don't do anything that is just "common sense". They do exactly what they are told to do at the meetings and in their elders book.
I attempted suicide. I survived. You know what helped me? My "wordly" friend whom I was told not to spend so much time around. And for years I tried to bury all that inside me, attending meetings, preaching, studying, not once considering getting professional help. Once I started to do actual research on the organization, I realized it wasn't the truth. Being the nice guy that I am, I decided to get the organization the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to prove that not everyone in the organization was without empathy or some sort of "common sense".
I spoke to an elder about my attempted suicide and my depression. He essentially told me "stop looking back" and that it was my fault and it was a "great opportunity" to learn from it.
I attended a few meetings after that, not even saying "hi" to that elder. And then I stopped going altogether. And I actually made progress, doing the things I love now that actually help me that were forbidden to me. Not sins. But hanging out with my actual friends that I don't have to pretend to be perfect around, work, and music school and now started to make money off audio engineering. -

Had a girlfriend (but broke up with her cuz of Watchtower guilt)
Smoked weed on weekends with worldly friends (Didn't feel guilty)
Got a tattoo (it was on my back so no one saw it)
Got drunk a few times with co workers
Cursed when I was with worldly friends.
Listened to heavy metal.
Also I see people are saying that concerts are a bad thing? Mostly everyone in my congregation went to rock shows and no one had a problem with it.

HOW COME ALMIGHTY GOD needs HUMAN PROTECTION ?
by clarity inisn't it strange?.
with just even a hint of bad press for the god jehovah ....... all his followers race to the rescue to cover it up.
and quickly hide the evidence.

I remember hearing about if there was any wrongdoing in the congregation, Jehovah would clear it up and take care of it. But when there's a case against the organization, it seems like he is unable to clear it up for outsiders.

How Did/Has the WTBTS Affected Your Social Skills?
by ABibleStudent ingood or bad?
how did/has the wtbts affected your social skills, social development, and/or how you interact with other people?
i have many questions about different social skills that i will ask either after other people post to this thread or to keep this thread active.

I converted into this cult but I gotta say, it has helped my social skills. Going to their meetings, I was kinda force to say hi to everyone and do some small talk even if I had no interest and going d2d has helped me start conversations with people based on nothing. I was originally very shy.

3.5 years vs. a lifetime of going door to door.
by tootired2care indid it bug you as a witness that jesus only had to go from door to door for 3.5 years, and he was done; while he demanded that you do it for your whole life without preparing for the morrow?
i just remember a few years back reflecting on the daunting prospect of doing it my whole life if the end didn't come - "sooner rather than later".
what are your thoughts?.
