  What Was Your Body of Elders Like?

  were they pretty much a good group of men?

  We had one elder that was never with a smile. He always talked positive. Not a doofus in the slightest. the smile kinda gave you the creeps after a while. I never seen him frowned.
  
  One that was very slender and tall. Pale skin, generic haircut, glasses, no facial expressions. He was smart guy but was bland as wood. There was nothing interesting to talk to him about. Which is ironic because his wife is so full of character.
  
  One brother that was very family oriented. All his kids in the truth. He helped the pioneers everyday. Not much to say. Just a standard elder. Pretty cool.

  One brother that talked in the lowest tone you can think of for a person. He was a nice guy.

  And another elder that might have been jehovah himself from how everyone treated him. Don't get me wrong, he was a great guy by all means. But since he led the body of elders everybodys been bowing before, sometimes intimidated. He knew a lot and had a way with words and metaphors and was a good guy. I hate him for constantly showing up at my door, once with the CO.

  "but what do you do with that scripture so far as not attending meetings?".

  i typed hebrews 10:25 in to the search bar but didnt get much.. .

  Dale that is a good retort. It's something I always tried to tell the witnesses when I see them. the conversation always goes:
  
  JW: "Hey, how are you? we miss you."
  Me: "You can text me. We should hang out sometime."

  p. 4-7 comparing god's kingdom to human gov't.let us look @ the history of god's gov't.he can't control his rebellious angels so he sends them to the earth to cause disturbance.than he drowns 99 % of the human race including babies and animals.he instituted segregation via language.ethnic cleansing-remember the promised land.i don't like a gov't that kills father,mother,children,babies so it can give their property to their friends.. notice p. 7 subjects:did not god's gov't rule the nation of is.

  for hundreds of years.look at all the corruption.obviously they did not learn the high moral standards.who appointed king david the murderer.there are many more examples.. p10 husbands make your home secure.why did they feature a black family.i notice more often than not they will do this on moral issues.. .

  If God's policies were in place today by a human government, it would somewhat similar to Nazism or north korea and everyone would be outraged. But because it's "God's plan", its "ok". Pure bullshit.

  Are you an "out of the closet" atheist?

  i'm atheist and not ashamed of it.

  however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.

  i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?

  I'm agnostic but I don't really share my religious opinions with anybody because it usually ends up in me revealing that I used to be a JW. I'd rather just pretend I never was and not say anything. Most people don't change their religious beliefs regardless of what you have to say anyway.

  Funeral for an atheist

  99% of all funerals that i have attended have been the wt version, where they preach about the resurrection into paradise and say little about the person who passed other than they were loyal to jah.

  the other 1% catholic for grandparents.. now that i consider myself an atheist, i got to wondering what do atheists plan for when they die?.

  if you are a non-believer what are your plans for when you die?

  f you had to give a "in a nutshell" definition of ttatt, what would you say or what main points would you use to define it ?.

  It's just 12 guys in brooklyn making up rules for their own benefit. There are a couple hundred thousands deaths, sex scandals, testimonies to prove this if you would take the time to listen (which active JW's would never do).

  A LETTER FROM MY MOTHER...since learning TTATT

  so ive recently: joined the forum, read cofc, began reading combating cult mind control.....and today i gotta letter from my mother.

  i thought i'd share it with others so that i can gain some hidden insight, and perhaps just to encourage someone else here who has relatives who are still mentally locked in.

  I remember when I stopped attending meetings and I grew out my beard for like 2 weeks. Next thing you know, this sister I went to high school with (we were close friends. Now she's a parrot for the borg) texted me saying she knows I'm not alright despite telling her I was and I couldn't be happier. One of the reasons apparently was that I grew out a beard. I have always questioned that and never got a legitmate answer. I would have accepted "it looks sloppy" and it would have been a way better answer than anything I got.
