Help me find a post please, re: listening to GB/FDS=listening to God
by Muddy Waters inagh, i can't find a post... somebody asked a question looking for various quotes where the wts equated following their words to following god's words.. there was an excellent discussion with lots of wt articles quoted... including a scan of a 1942 or 1943 wt article.

"We need to obey the faithful and discreet slave to have Jehovah’s approval." Watchtower 2011 Jul 15 p.24 Simplified English Edition
"[A mature christian] does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and "the faithful and discreet slave." Watchtower 2001 Aug 1 p.14
"Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?" Watchtower 2009 Feb 15 p.27
"To act consistently with our baptism for life and into the Greater Noah we must submit to and cooperate with that slave and its legal instrument, the Watch Tower Society." Watchtower 1959 Oct 1 p.583For many decades, the Slave included all "anointed" Witnesses, but in 2012 the Governing Body assumed this role upon themselves alone. For several years the Governing Body had been making statements that increased its own authority.
"The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ." Watchtower 2010 Sep 15 p.23

Are you a person who TRIES NEW THINGS?
by Terry inso-called type a personalities are risk-takers...or so we are told.. i don't know about that.. i know that people aren't easily categorized into neat little folders of behavior.. .
i know that some of us are very very reluctant to try new things while others have a sense of adventure.. .

Hi Terry!
I love that your back here ;)
I have always flip-flopped on my feelings about myself in this area. One day I feel like I am a go getter and other days I feel like I am wasting my life in front of the TV
Having said that, I do actually do a lot of things that are very different from the average joe (will not list here as they could be used to identify me)
I like the idea of bking though, you have got me thinking. Maybe over the winter I will check out some bikes for next spring/summer.
I KNOW that one day i will jump out of an airplane. I WILL bungee jump. I WILL climb (a small) mountain.
These are new things I am determined to try. Thanks for getting me motivated on this again!

WT article on Esther: dead wrong.
by JeffT ina few weeks ago the pastor at our church gave the sermon from the book of esther.
this sparked some old wt memories.
i looked through my old bound volumes and found this gem of misguided scholarship from the writing department.

YADIRF:
I just did, Donkey's Butt! Must I repeat:
The story of Esther presents the King as a sober, principled man. Why not read the account and see.
Or maybe it's simply that you CAN'T read. LOL!
*** THAT'S your proof?? Yadirf, just saying something isn't proof. We are not glossy-eyed R&F JW's that just beleive eveything the WT says to try not to use WT logic with us, it doesn't work. It's laughable that you actually think you proved your point with that statement. Typical WT parrot.
