  Unsubstantiated Rumors In Recent Years

  across the past several years, various rumors have appeared on this and other websites.

  if anyone else has knowledge about them, i'd be glad to hear more about them.

  again, these are only rumors that i've wondered about but could never get more information on.. 1) henschel documents- long before the watchtower's alliance with the un was exposed, a rumor appeared from europe that watchtower president milton henschel carried some kind of diplomatic identification from the un!

  Dear Barbara,

  do you ever recall a time at bethel where a breakfast announcement was made about brothers renting pornography from a local video store? I heard they were directed to return the movies before work started that day. I heard this from a missionary that claimed to be on a phone hook up from another bethel the morning this was announced, it would have been at least 15+ years ago (before 1997)

  i was really told this.... in fact the brother implied that a bethel elder would have been at the store waiting as they came to return the xxx movies.

  apparently the vidoe store owner called the bethel and reported that adult movies were being rented with the bethel address as the home address of the renters. He felt this was in conflict with what JW's represent so he reported it.

  as I recall this was first hand that I heard this, the brother that told me was having breakfast with the bethel family on hook up to the mother ship.

  would love to hear from Barb if she ever recalled this :)

  I am not interested in false rumours, but I love to here those little details (such as the press being shut down) that take ever more mystery out of the bethel walls and back room elder meetings with CO's and DO's.

  Question #9 of this week's "oral review" of DVD "Faith In Action"...

  this week, the service meeting will have an oral review of the dvd faith in action which was distributed in the 2010 district assembly worldwide... as many of you probably know, the intent of this dvd is to present a "white-washed" version of the history of the watchtower by omitting all the scandals and cover-ups.... i no longer go to meetings, but i would have loved to raise my hand and answer question #9 which reads: "what did the bible students expect would happen in 1914?".

  my response would have been the following:.

  even though the geoffrey jackson admits that the bible students expected a "heavenly reward", the dvd avoids mentioning that russell categorically predicted armageddon would come in october of 1914. what's even worse is the fact that the narrator lied on two occasions by saying that the bible students expected or reasoned that jesus would take the throne in 1914. this is completely false.

  back on topic:

  this DVD is absolute BS. Cherry picked and candy coated for the R&F.

  My wife could see the anger in my face as I sat through it, even asked me what was wrong.

  It just amazes me that the WTS actually believes that lying to the R&F is okay to jehoba. As if they are somehow saving the R&F from themselves should they doubt the org if they knew what really happened.

  I saw our DVD's in our briefcase after the DC and I threw them in the garbage, along with all the other books and brochures she brought home. All straight in the trash.
  this has become one of my sick pleasures now, taking lots of lit from assemblies and throwing it all in the garbage. oh well, the WTS made me this way! ;)

  Odd question in July 15 2012 WT

  what if a powerful government were to hatch a plot to exterminate jehovah's witnesses as an organization?.

  they ask this question at the bottom of page 23 of the july wt, and i thought the wording was kind of strange.

  the target is not jws "the people" (as in nazi germany) but the org alone.

  70 years of servitude did take place, but only 50 years of desolation occured. Russel mixed these up.

  just stating this plainly might not flip out a JW too badly because it actually acknowledges 70 years and they won't know enough about the subject to fire a quick retort back at you. they will feel stupid for not knowing how to respond, which is normal since they are stupid... especially when it comes to anything deeper than fluffy bunny's and rainbows

  "therefore, we should give attention to our dress and grooming while in the convention city, including when we check in at the hotel.

  arriving in shorts and a t-shirt would not reflect dignity.".

  if they are undignified when at assembly hotels, are they dignified on other occasions? or is it ok to dress in an undignified manner when doing things on non-meeting nights and non-assembly weeks? I suppose a humble brother would just play it safe and avoid shorts and T-shirts all together. One only needs to see this in the WT & Awake pictures, I mean it’s soooo obvious since the only guys wearing shorts and T-shirts are bad worldly kids tempting our poor young brothers with cigarettes and higher education....

  So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?

  after the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.

  " the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.

  evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

  60% of americans in one servey think the government did it.....even though there is no sold evidence.

  let me spell it out.....a huge airplane full of fuel hit the building plowing thru the steel supports, thousands of witnesses, and video fotage, it almost flew through the building with debris blowing out the other side.

  although it appears in the footage there is alot of smoke but no fire, right?

  #1 You don't need to melt steel to make a building fall. You only need to heat it enough. Heat weakens the strength of structural steel. Weaken it enough, and it will fail from the loads of the structure.

  #2 The building did not fall at free fall speed.

  when I worked in demolition we would cut beams all over an old factory, literally cut 80% right through them. We would underimine every support in the place, grab onto it with 45 ton excavators and the damn buildings would still stand there! When they finally gave way it would be in small sections after yanking on supports in that immediate area, they never just fell over at one time. It was just never that easy.

  I'm not saying that the weight of the WTC would not have collapsed all at once, but to see them come straight down on top of themselves without virtually any twist or sway, that is hard to beleive from all that chaos came such a perfectly controlled demoltion.

  Say what you will, but you cannot blame anyone for asking questions about these events. Not 1, not 2, but 3 perfect implosions that would have earned the best demolition experts on the planet recognition from peers for generations.

  And we havent even talked about the vanishing airplane that hit the Pentagon. And anyone that claims the airplane engines melted instantly from the heat of their own fuel is not worth even having a conversation with about this.

  Do I believe the US government did this? No. Do I believe Bin Laden did this? Yes. Do I also believe Americans with interest in war and oil were involved? Absolutely.
