  I just want a divorce!

  hi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.

  fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".

  however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

  That is incorrect. Besides my hating that word 'scriptural', it does say that Jehovah is hating a divorce so he does not want that.

  No, its not incorrect.

  1 Cor 10:23 - “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.

  Jehovah hates a divorcing but Jesus did not say that divorce was a sin, he only said if you divorce not on the grounds of adultery, yet marry another then you are an adulterer.

  Besides, we are not talking about what the bible says, or what your opinion on this is, we are talking about the WTS's opinion.

  Nobody gets DF'd simply for divorcing or separating from their spouse. Period.They get DF'd for "non-support" or adultery, etc. That is what happens in the JW / Watchtower world, and even if they are DF'd for other reasons they are still not free to marry until adultery is committed.

  The ONLY scriptural reason/approved GB reason for divorce is....( drum-roll ).............. Cheating on your spouse!

  Wrong.

  Adultery makes one scripturally free to remarry.

  There is nothing unscriptural about separation or divorce so long as you don't remarry another.

  I personally know of 3 JW couples that have separated without adultery and the husbands and wives all live on their own in their own congregation, no marriage, no sex, no dating.

  One couple I know has been separated for over 30 years like this!!! And I believe he even has priviledges in his congregation.

  remind your husband that he is not as smart as he thinks he is. It amazes me how idiotic so many are when they use that phrase "unscriptural divorce"

  Please, show me where in the bible there is a "scriptural divorce"?? THERE ISN'T!!!

  The only thing in scripture is a "scriptural remarriage"

  yes "Jehovah hates a divorcing" but separation and divorce ARE NOT unscriptural, only when remarrying another without being "free to marry" is unscriptural !!

  So, whether or not adultery has been committed, your husband is a complete moron. You two getting a divorce is no more "unscriptural" than you two separating... yet he went along with that.

  He is just being a self righteous dick, trying to hide his "dick-ness" behind his "love for Jehovah" and his complete lack of scriptural knowledge.

  He isn't getting sex from you anyway so what the f#*k does he care if he isn't free to marry after you divorce???

  charisma can work wonders.. it can be both entertaining or maddening to large crowds of eager listeners.. whole populations can be swayed by a silver tongue or mad ranting poison-sac attached to a man leading a movement.. .

  the history of the watchtower society proves this.. leadership is tricky and movements are volatile.

  in sharing my thoughts on the july 15, 2013 study edition and all the changes therein, I have seen two camps, those that can see the control agenda, and those that couldn't care less because they don't understand a word of it.

  As one sister of absolute blind faith instructed me after I asked her a thought provoking question about the new changes: "just say....."I beleive"".

  In a nutshell, you get it or you don't.

  for most they must make a consciencious choice to NOT understand the "new light", they choose to just keep up the routine because the end is so close despite not knowing WHY its so close.
  All the while not even realizing that the religion they were baptized into is an apostasy to the one they now serve.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

  many of us realized that we never actually knew Jehovah, we only feared his punishment which was metted out by the organization.

  When we realized we had dedicated ourselves to men, some allowed God to come between us and men.

  Others were so damaged by the coercive persuasion of the WTS that if a loving God does exist he would certainly forgive the victims of this org for losing their faith
