I get so tired of people always bringing up "Black on Black" crime.
by booker-t ini am responding to a post by someone the other day about a black girl beaten by a mob of other black teens for "acting too white.
" the poster was trying to drive home the idea black people commit more crimes against themselves then white people do to them.
while it is true some black people do insult other black people who they believe are trying to fit in with caucasian people, white people, hispanics, asians, and other races do the same exact thing to people in their ethnic group as well.

Elders pretty much do whatever they want!
by toto555 ini've seen elders over the years openly flaunt "the rules", butt-kiss (the co especially), show favoritism and appoint brothers they like and not appoint brothers that should of been appointed for some trivial reason.
many lord their "power" over the friends in blatant violation of scriptures and watchowers that specifically say that they shouldn't lord themselves over the flock.
they pretty much do what they want!

the odd elder is like that, but that majority are not. most are nice guys that are sincere.
I think that people who make exaggerated claims like "ALL elders" or "every elder I've ever know" usually have other social issues
it's not uncommon to see people project anger toward those with whom they have an inferiority complex
Having said that, I would agree that the BOrg does employ guilt tactics that enflame these social issues and I understand why so many choose to project this toward elders, pioneers, MS's and their wives - the ones that JW R&F are conditioned to compare themselves too
the elders in my KH are all nice guys, I am completely inactive and no one bothers me at all and I even hang out with a few of them

My neighbor is a return visit. Should I say something?
by Zoos ini stayed home sick from work the other day and noticed a car group pull up to my neighbor's house.
she's a stay-at-home mom.
i decided it was time to retrieve something from my truck to see if i could recognize the visiting sisters.

you'll do more harm than good
just let them get tired of JW's coming around all by themselves

For 46 years Jehovah's Witnesses compromised their worship in Mexico to retain ownership of material property

on one hand I understand why they would do this. But they crucify themselves with the WT 1979 5/15 statement (and thousands more just like it)
growing up I remember alternative service was considered a complete comporomise for a JW. But the BOrg is allowed to compromise whenever it needs to?
So JW's went to jail in many countries to not compromise while the Borg essentially pulled a "Peter" and denied Jesus (Jehovah) outright to the Mexican government to keep their bottom line fat.
such blasphemy

Need help talking with my JW mom who's now willing to "listen" to what we have to say...
by 2pink inmy husband and i (both born in jws--entire extended families all still in excpet for my sister) left the church 5 years ago.
i literally woke up one day and realized it wasn't the "truth".
i did not fade, i just left and told my family i didn't believe it anymore.

Matt 24:34
this generation will by no means pass away
i think deep down NO ONE really believes the overlapping generations debacle.
just read that verse and ask her what Jesus meant.
There are lots of other scriptures out there, but just start with one and ask her what SHE thinks it means, not what the org says it means. It will get her thinking

The rank and file and mentally diseased!
by ADJUSTMENTS inthis sounds like the typical rank and file jw, it's actually a mental disorder, i and many others were once in this state.... delusional disorder is an uncommon psychiatric condition in which patients present with delusions, but with no accompanying prominent hallucinations, thought disorder, mood disorder, or significant flattening of affect.
[ 1 ][ 2 ] delusions are a specific symptom of psychosis.
non-bizarre delusions are fixed false beliefs that involve situations that could potentially occur in real life; examples include being followed or poisoned.

^^^ Sometimes I wonder if some posters just wish to scare every lurking active JW back to the kingdom hall.

Hi Losing it...
I understand completely how you feel. I am still in the org with my family even though I am mentally 100% out.
I endured about 3 years of horrible stress over this but I started coming around when I allowed myselft the right to be happy regardless of what that required.
I'm not saying its easy, but I have found a way to be happy as a JW despite not beleiving a word of it. I've also found several inside that feel as I do. But we all love our freindships and our bonds.
Needless to say I don't hang out with die-hards that cry about the new system all day long ( you know the types) I have a great group of freinds that just like the same things I do, sports, music, traveling, good food, etc. What's wrong with that?
call me fake, or whatever you want. I have discovered that all that matters is being happy. period. There are happy JW's, happy Catholics, happy atheists, happy muslims, and there are miserable JW's, Catholics, atheists and muslims.
For anyone to say that you can't be a JW and be happy is a very naive statement. There is no right or wrong answer.
People in all walks of life keep parts of their lives private, religion, politics, sexual preferences, opinions etc. Not because their "hiding" it, its just what many of us do in a society to keep peace with our friends, families and co-workers.
If being a JW makes you miserable then LEAVE! but if being happy is more important than being right, (which I truly believe it is) then find your niche and you will find freinds that are like you and understand you, and THAT makes life great, even as JW

Enzo if the WBATS can call all apostates mentally diseased, I can call anyone any effing thing I like!!!
there are those on this board (we all know who they are) that are not taken seriously because of their rant style of posting. We all understand many here are angry, but if you want to be taken seriously temper your aggression with rational arguments and concepts
Many of us still have loved ones (that we love very much) who are still in the org. and don't consider these ones "mentally diseased" or mentally ill, they are victims of victims just as we once were

Question to any practicing JWs
by Mr. Falcon ini ask you to consider this scenario:.
a devoutly born-again christian man, who strives to live every facet of his life in accordance with what is written in the gospels, spends all of his time helping the poor, reading his bible cover-to-cover, living an austere life and genuinely feels that his life is motivated by his love of christ.
a real christian in practice, both public and private.

I actually heard a comment from a brother a couple years ago that his CO brother in law suggested that the WTS is leaning toward the idea that good hearted non-JW's could possibly survive Armageddon based on their heart condition. That we can't judge anyone since they may in fact be spared by Jehovah
I was surprised to hear that but I knew the CO personally and that is why is Bro in law told me.
so whatever that means.........

1914-1919 ONE QUESTION???
by ADJUSTMENTS inafter reading a great article and video by mr john cedars on his website:.
http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/the-cedars-challenge-how-to-bring-down-jwsurvey.
it raised a very simple and straightforward question:.
-
wallsofjericho
for JW's the answer is always "heart condition"
the WTS wasn't anywhere near "truth" as they define it today, but of course they couldn't be until after they would become the faithful slave since they would not have had holy spirit. They could only have been chosen by their heart condition since they could never have truth
Jah would then grow his light brighter from that moment forward
any JW could dance circles around these types of questions. The BOrg uses these same sweeping statements like "heart condition" to brush aside questioning for everything and anything
