Gumby...There is suficient evidence that actual homosexuality is genetically linked. The patterns of personality traits and affinities found in practicing and nonpracticing gays suggests that the behavior is not a warped or abborant vice but a genetic anomoly. Aside from those "actual" homosexuals many have experimented with the practices while not feeling that they are gay they appreciate the physical aspects. This behavior is observed in bonobos quite often among females and males, in chimps less often but on occasion. The difference is probably due to the greater male aggression/rivalry in chimps. That you and I "feel" a natural repulsion tward the behavior and yet others don't should suggest to you that the differences are real, biological and inherent.

Jesus was gay - says academic
by ISP injesus was gay - says academic
jesus was gay and so were at least three of his 12 disciples, according to an australian academic.. .
dr rollan mccleary said jesus's astrological chart, clues in the scriptures and biblical translations, all played a part in his conclusions.. in a forthcoming book, he attempts to present st john's gospel in a new light to back up his claims, reports the herald sun.. dr rollan mccleary, a university of queensland phd graduate who now lives in melbourne, has just been awarded his doctorate for a thesis on gay spirituality.. an anglican and a qualified reader of astrological charts, dr mccleary said the planet uranus figured prominently in jesus's astrological chart, as it did with many gays..

REASONING FROM THE SCRIPTURES,page 91
by badboy in`on the coins of constantine the most frequent symbol is xp*;but this symbol is used without the surrounding circle, and with the 4 equals arms vertical and horizontal;and this was the symbol specially venerated as the`solar wheel'.
the non-christian pp 133-141.. * denotes a close represtention of the actual symbol.. r they actually saying that the symbol which i believe simply represtents the 1st 2 letter of christ r of pagan origin?.
this is serious,man!.

I no longer have a reasoning book but I suspect the topic in discussion is the cross and it's pagan prechristian usage. If so then the quote may simply be saying that the letter x on the coin is a representation of the symbol (the Solar Wheel/cross) without the customary circle drawn around it.

Logan...The question of the Jesus charactor being a completely fictonal composition is not fringe scholarship. Of course the majority at present do accept the likelyhood that at least some elements in the story reflect historical events many see this "historical" personage as a composite of a number of ages and revolutionaries of the two centuries before Christians created the legend. A minority of legitamate and accredited scholars in the field see no need for a historrical core at all but that the mythology and political environment provided all the pieces of the story. Do not judge this hypothesis by the work of a few authors that have become popular because of striking a "conspiracy" cord in the public. As to the gay topic, the secret gospel of Mark seems to suggest that the authors of this Jesus tale did have their hero enjoy the intimate company of men much as the rest of the Roman world then did. Very hot topic today but not as much an issue at the time. Homosexual pleasure was not viewed as abnormal or even as sex for that matter. It was simply a diversion and pacticed by men and boys who otherwise had normal families and wives. No I am not gay. But IF there was a Jesus of Nazareth he MAY have acted as the rest of the Roman world and practiced what we today would call homosexual acts.

Historical Problems in Bible
by IronGland inhistorical problems, inconsistencies, and contradictions comprise a significant part of the bible: .

The 600 chariot thing is a translating issue. The hebrew says.."His chariots and his people he took with him and he took 600 chariots chosen all the chariots of Egypt" The way most translations have rendered the verse is due to the ludacrous idea of 2-4 million people being threatened by 600 chariots. But that was the point of the discussion.

Jews practiced human sacrifice
by peacefulpete inlev.27:28,29 says ..."but any devoted thing which a man devotes to jehovah from all which belongs to him, of man or of animal, or of the field of his possession, it shall not be sold nor redeemed.
everyone devoted to destruction(sacrificed) is most holy no devoted thing which is dedicated by man shall be ransomed; it shall surely be put to death.
this explains why jeptha, when promising to offer as burnt offering the first person to great him upon his successful return from war, had to kill his daughter dispite his feelings for her.

Everyone devoted to destruction(sacrificed) is most holy No devoted thing which is dedicated by man shall be ransomed; it shall surely be put to death."
This explains why Jeptha, when promising to offer as burnt offering the first person to great him upon his successful return from war, had to kill his daughter dispite his feelings for her. Judges 11:30-40 I know that it explained away as her going to live at the tabernacle rather than her being sacrificed, but this is clearly an attempt to make the scriptures less offensive to modern readers. His anguish over having to keep his promise to Jehovah and the subsequent bewailing on the part of her girl friends makes clear death was at issue not moving away. The Masoretic text was accually altered to conceal this shameful story. Verse 40 was changed by later jews to suggest that her friends came and "conversed" with Jeptha's daughter each year (meaning she was yet alive) when in fact the original reading was "bewailed" her. Human sacrifice no doubt was part of these people's cult, however these stories while ancient are likely fictionalized stories to illustrate a moral. -

who gave isreal to Jehovah?
by peacefulpete ini thought this was discssed before but i couldn't find it, so forgive if this is repetitious.
at deuteronomy 32:8-9, part of the "song of moses" the text says the "most high" divvied up the nations to the gods he gave judah to yhwh/jehovah as his "allotment".
this "song" is view for textural and language reasons to be one of the oldest portions of the bible, an ancient song that was incorporated into the narrative and ascribed to the moses character.

Very ancient cultures typically worshipped female deities as the mother and life giver. Women were highly regarded as elements of divinty. In time man's role in making babies was better understood and women were demoted to mere vessels for the male seed. An accompanying demotion of the godess followed. In many cases the goddesss was simply changed into male and the customs continued as before but with a phallus rather than a vulva as the cult object. In other cases a male King of the gods was invented to assume ascendancy over the popular goddess and she became a consort or subordinate. The OT stories about a tolerance followed by outrage about ashtoreth worship reflect old traditions clashing with newer. It is also in part due to the editing of the 5th and later centuries (by which time goddess worship was taboo for most Jews).

In Deuteronomy 32 and Psalm 106 the word translated demons is SHeDDIM, whereas in Leviticus 17 it is Se`iRIM (the plural of Sa`iR). The relationship between the two words is shown by noting that the word translated "to fear" (Sa`aR) in Deuteronomy 32 v 17 is the source of the word translated "demon" in Leviticus 17 v 7 (Sa`IR).
The hebrew word Sa`IR is also translated "kid (as in goat)" and has the basic idea of something which is associated with trembling or shimmering. In Leviticus 17 v 7 the word Sa`IR can be understood to refer to the natural phenomena that idols portray, which cause men to fear and tremble.
SHeDDIM is closely related to the hebrew word translated "Almighty" in the phrase "God Almighty". In these phrases, "Almighty" is a translation of the hebrew word "SHaDDaI".
I found this on the web, I am not a hebrew scholar so as to judge it's accuracy, but as it appears to have been written by a christian it's bias likely leans tward concealing the connection. It also seems worth mentioning that the etymology of a word does not always reflect it's meaning in usage so dispite unsavory origins the word shaddai may not have meant anything other than simply "almighty or mighty etc" by the time the writer used it. -

I think I confessed this earlier but even before the rule was changed BS conductors were encouraged to approach every housebound/nursing home resident witness and ask repeatedly if in fact they might not have spent 15 minutes combined the whole month in letter or to the mailman speaking about something remotely Bible oriented. In those days they were encouraged to add months together and report when it totaled an hour, this kept them from being "inactive". I know some zealous BS conductors fudged for them and assumed they must have witnessed but forgot to report it. It was shameless. As it pressured the "publisher" to lie and exagerate. Few BS conductors put forth the effort to make these contacts and so the new 15 min. rule no doubt has resulted in at least 1 reactivated publisher per congo. This alone accounts for much of the "increase". The baptism/hours preaching ratio is showing a slowing of interest on the part of the public. This also by calculation suggests that each year a greater percentage of those baptised are witness children rather than "new" converts.
