What a nice post SIAM, I wonder if I classify as a born-in (mom studied when I was only 6 months old! lol) I'm starting to do more "worldly" stuff now without feeling bad about it. But some parts of me are still clinging to the Society I admit.

A Born ins challenge to develop a "post cult" personality.
by stuckinamovement ina born ins challenge to develop a post cult personality.. mentally leaving the organization can be traumatic for a number of reasons.
one of the biggest challenges for born-ins in finding their pre cult personality is that our entire personalities are based on the religion.
there is no such thing as a pre cult personality for us.

"The Family Who Missed Meeting, And Their Child Was Hit By A Bus"
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inhave you heard this skit, about the family that decided to stay home from meeting.
instead of attending the t.m.s.

I've heard this 'bus' story before at a meeting. JW urban legends are pretty funny lol. My wife told me of one that was popular in Mexico (she grew up over there) Supposedly one day these sisters started a bible study with a lady. At the end of the study the lady asked if this was really the true religion of God. The sisters responded that yes it is. The lady wasn't satisfied with the answer but she didn't say anything. After the study the lady had to go out for something. She had to drive down a hill. (Now in Mexico, roads on hills are not protected with any barriers so if you go down, you're dead.) This lady apparently went off the road and her car went flying down the hill when suddenly it stopped. She looked in her rearview mirror and saw two big men pulling her car up back to the road. She returns home and immediately calls the sister she studies with and relates what happened to her and is convinced this is the truth.

Latest Study Article: Was Jephthah surprised at his daughter coming out?
by garbonzo inparagraph 15: "he vowed that if god gave ammon into jephthah's hand, the first one to come out of the door when he returned home would be jehovah's.
as jephthah returned home from subduing ammon, his daughter came running to meet him.

That is pretty contradicting! But maybe he would've given one of his servants perhaps? Idk. Haha imagine if his mom would've been the first one to come out of his house

I need some advice folks!
by DonutZ! ina few months back my then-gf (now wife) cheated on me with a coworker.

Talesin- Yes we used protection every time until November 26th-ish (got married Nov. 7th) But yeah at the doctors I will see! Vanderhoven7- Actually it was rather quick! My mom told me (back then I was still in the congregation) that it was possible she only married me to cover up that she was already pregnant!

Oompa- You're right, she is to blame. During our relationship we always used protection and did so for a few weeks into our marriage, around the 26th-ish we stopped using protection. What concerns me is that she doesn't remember if the damn coworker used protection which lays the possibility of the baby not being mine! Sadly due to our low income we haven't been to a doctor yet but finally next Wednesday is our appointment! I will try and find out how long she is exactly.

BP- Lol...she's already pregnant. OOMPA- I wouldn't have married her if she would've told me this earlier. I definitely would've postponed it. As for separating I'm not sure, I want to talk with a counselor first. DACHEECH- Ever since she told me I have kept a closer eye on her and what not. I don't know who to blame!

Do Any of you JWs watch anime?
by BlackTwisted inif so, what is your favorite one?.
one of my friends said she couldn't watch anime because of where it was orginated and it was a tradition, if that were true, then everyone in japan would be drawing anime of "tradition" like what the heck?
since when did drawing ever became a tradition?

OTWO- I'll try to save some money or look for free counseling somewhere. Do you just sit and talk with a counselor together? Madge- To be honest I don't know if she has a low self esteem. Would that have something to do with her past? She told me she was a victim of sexual abuse by her stepfather and cousin when she was only 5. She said to me that ever since she was abused its been harder for her to say no and that she's weaker emotionally. Could this be true? Also I love what you say here "Being in a relationship is literally caring about the other persons feelings more then your own, but remember this goes both ways." Very nice words!!! DOC- You're right, this is a bad start. And yes I am more worried about the emotions and actual feelings she had during this affair but she always denies any and tells me it was just physical. Counseling is definitely on my to do list now though!

BP-I admit what you say is true, she has asked for forgiveness many times and she clearly shows it. But idk its tough to answer that question. JWFACTS-I do enjoy being with her and the thought of not being with her kinda scares me. It is true that I went from one problem to another. I feel that we are compatible. OTWO-I could try counseling but is it costly? I barely can pay bills! Lol. And yes I get angry whenever I see him but I have self-control. She told me (or confessed I guess?) because she said it was bothering her a lot, her conscience and what not.
