lisa, i agree with ya about the O Brother soundtrack. i bought it and the movie last week and just love both!
i think india arie got snubbed this year. her song, i'm a queen or whatever, the one she performed, is such a good message song. i wish little girls would listen to her instead of britney or christina.

At least 55 people have been killed after a train carrying hardline Hindu activists was attacked in the western Indian state of Gujarat as they were returning from a religious ceremony.
A stone-throwing mob stopped the Sabarmati Express near Godhra, about 160 kilometres (112 miles) from Ahmedabad, and set several coaches on fire.On board were Hindu activists returning from the disputed holy site of Ayodhya, where a right-wing Hindu group, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has pledged to begin construction of a temple on the ruins of a 16th-century mosque.
The district has a history of Hindu-Muslim tension - a similar incident happened 10 years ago, when at least 15 Hindu right-wing activists travelling by train were killed by Muslims.
That attack followed the demolition of the Babri Mosque in Ayodhya - where the activists want to build the new temple.
The demolition of the mosque led to nationwide riots in which more than 2,000 people were killed.
Shoot to kill orders
Godhra has been placed under curfew following the attack on the train, and police were ordered to shoot to kill to stem further violence.
A 17-year-old youth died when police opened fire to disperse mobs that were looting shops and setting them on fire, officials said.One Godhra official told the Associated Press news agency that the mob that attacked the train had been enraged by inflammatory chants made by the Hindu activists.
Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee described the attack as a very "unfortunate and tragic incident" and appealed for calm.
He asked the VHP to step back from their Ayodhya campaign.
"I appeal to the VHP to stop their campaign and co-operate with the government in establishing peace and brotherhood in the country," he said.
Increasing tension
Tension has been growing in Ayodhya, where Hindu militants razed the ancient Babri Mosque in 1992 to build a temple over what they said was the site marking the birthplace of the Hindu God, Ram.
More than 20,000 people are reported to have gathered in Ayodhya since the VHP announced it would begin constructing the temple by 15 March, in defiance of court orders banning construction at the site.
The actual pillars and carved stones for the temple have already been prepared at various VHP workshops.

harmonyps. i haven't heard back from my parents about the long email i sent. now i'm starting to think they won't respond since they know in their hearts that the whole shunning thing is bullshit and they can't defend the actions of my brother and sister. so they will just ignore it like they have for the past nine years and hope that i will too.
