Pinch ME Please I Must be Dreaming!
by Cassiline ini woke up this morning as you all did to this chaos that has enveloped our country, for those of you outside our country i am sure you were just as shocked.
nothing as devistating has happened during my lifetime.
although for some of you in countrys where terriosm is an everyday occurence i now can see the horror and heartache you must deal with on a daily basis.

There is speculation on our local news based on following facts:
*Plane from Newark was headed for Erie region and made u-turn back to
east coast.
*Pittsburgh International airport had plane on radar and made contact
with no response from pilot.
*Person on cell phone called from bathroom of the plane stating it
was being hijacked.
*This was after 1st two plane crashes.
*F16's were confirmed to be flying over Pittsburgh.
*There was sufficient time for the plane to of been located and shot
down by our military. -

Lindy, that is unbelievable! we have a camp in Bedford very close to Indian lake, I was thinking of going into seclusion there and thats when I got the news of the crash. I think the news should report it if that was the case, but I can see why the wouldn't. However, anyone can see that it just doesn't make sense that 3 planes hit their targets and a 4th with minimal passengers would wreck in a field. I doubt the original pilot was flying the plane and the hijackers obviously wouldn't have this in their plan. Luckily one of the residents in that area seemed to of been hit. This day is just one of those unbelievable days. . . . .they just said the somerset local news that the plane hit a strip field and no one on the ground was injured. There is a crater were it landed and everything incinerated.
As everyone I'm so sad, the initial shock is over. Just can't help but wonder what will happen next.

Planes just a diversion... Ambulances had bombs.
by biblexaminer ini feel pretty sure about this, that the planes were just a diversion set to allow emergency vehicles easy access to the basement parking lot.
eye witnesses placed a large explosion just before the south building came down.
one thing is sure, the buildings did not come down as a result of the planes hitting them or any explosions due to that.

Hi, I'm from Greensburg, PA and I'm between Pittsburgh and Somerset County where the fourth plane hit. It's been quite a day. At work today no one worked between the stories from New York and those affecting Pittsburgh. We first heard the 2nd plane was heading for Kennametal in Latrobe, Pa but I believe that was a false rumor. They also couldn't determine if there was 45 people or 400 people on board. I don't believe they have said yet on the news but there has been speculation that the plane was heading for Camp David or the Capitol. It has also been speculated that the plane was intentionally shot down by our own government thanks to a phone call from a cell phone caller locked in the bathroom of the plane warning the plane had been hijacked. They may have been able to of trace the call and shoot the plane down before it got to it's destination. But like I said that is speculation. Our local schools dismissed early today if parents wanted to pick up the children and most businesses/colleges in the Johnstown/Somerset area and Pittsburgh area have shut down for the day. Hopefully, the worst here is over and I can't help but wonder if there were more hijackers in grounded planes that didn't get up in the air.

Did you ever see the movie Arlington Road? If I'm not mistaken it was the world trade center in NY that got bombed in the end. It had a really interesting twist. The movie just reminded me alot of what happened today. -

), but i can tell you all that today has been (and will continue to be for a loooong time) the single most bizarre, surreal event i have witnessed.. i work in an office building at 26 broadway in manhattan, about 10 blocks from the world trade towers.

God vs Jesus
by peacepipe ini've read alot of posts about the mean, jealous god of the bible most were brought up to know.
i myself have often wondered why a loving god would kill innocent people(flood, soddom & gommorah, the egyptian sons, and why wouldn't he give adam & eve a 2nd chance?
jw's say they knew what they were to do and they defiantly disobeyed so they have no chance of a resurecction).

JW's say they knew what they were to do and they defiantly disobeyed so they have no chance of a resurecction). JW's and christians say that God was not the one who makes the bad things happen. Seems a conradiction to me. Anyhow, the stories are there in the old testament to support that God has killed some of his creation. But Jesus was a great teacher. Everything I read about Jesus and his teachings that apply to this world and how we should live I think are beyond his time.
So, anyone have any thoughts about Jesus?The unexamined life is not worth living

when i first started studying with the jw's i wanted to find god in the world.

After reading the post "mire of atheism" which is a really interesting thread, I came to a thought. When I first came to this board I wanted to add conviction to beliefs that I was not yet convinced of. When I first started studying with the JW's I wanted to find God in the world. So much craziness, killing, people who just don't care, slums, homelessness, hunger, no praying in public places, school shootings, wars. .. . . all that stuff- I thought the only answer was religion and God . I thought if people could go back to religion what a better world this would be.
But, I was wrong.
I started thinking about the original Planet of the Apes movies (I've not seen the new one). Any of you who have seen it know that the apes have their own religion with an Ape Jesus/God person or something like that. Anyhow my thought was that religion has always served a purpose- but it is a man made purpose. When the first people were on earth they didn't know a whole lot about the whys and hows. Religion explained the unexplainable & it gave some order to the chaos. Now we are in the scientific age and we can explain things. There are still many mysteries but what we've learned about the heavens and the earth shows that our Bible stories may be as fictional as reading about the great Greek gods or the story of Buddha. Why keep holding on and trying to justify the stories are true? Maybe it's time for the next thing. Maybe it's coming down the road a century or two from now.
My big revelation though has been that religion can't change the world, people do. . . .yeah I know, reeeaaall deep but it was just a thought and I wanted to share it and kind of say thanks because if this board wasn't here and the posters who post here weren't here my mind may not of made that u turn.[;}] -
