folks, there are plenty of reasons not to watch how i met your mother, but a gay actor playing a straight part is not one of them.

i should give her a list of known gay actors and ruin a bunch of movies and t.v.

My sister who's the only one in our family still in, said the same thing..

so much for not hating the person, only "hating what they do" ...

ya kinda are ...... hatin' on a person cuz a what they do..

should you refuse life saving medical treatment from a gay Dr..

what about the people you do like, but don't know ... oh the delemma of hypocrisy ..

JW Middle Schoolers vs Non JW Middle Schoolers - what was your middle/high school experience?

i'm a secondary school teacher and i've spent a lot of time at school this year since i've left jws simply observing student dynamics.

i do a lot of playground duty and have the opportunity to observe the kids at play and in the classroom.

i've especially had the opportunity to observe middle school kids, that is, kids between 12 and 15 in my state.. my observations of these 'worldly' children are:.

When I enterd middle school my Dad had just been DF'd for smoking, and one day Mom said, " If dad's not going to meetings we're not going to meetings!"

greatest day of my life .. so I immediately began petitioning to play football.. so through grade school never being able to play with other kids, was gone..

The best time of my life was midddle school and high school .. I was a JW who finally got to be a non JW..

I just wanted to wear the pads, so cool here is a pic of me in my first year practice gear ,, Oh the glory of it all.. LOL

Elders won't stop bugging

so i haven't been to a meeting since last december.

the elders recently have come over to my house at random times of day and during the week and one weekends.

just to let you know, i have only had one visit since december.

Ignore someone long enough .. it has to work, unless......they are really really really dense .. so it may not! LOL

Let's see he hasn't been to meetings .. show some love, if that doen't work .. threaten him .. everything they do is based on the bible LOL

one of the most persistent myths on this website is that jws are already in decline, the rot has set in, and the descent of the watchtower is inevitable from here on in.

unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.

jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.

your big mistake is based on watchtower reported numbers ... THEY LIE .... about everything.. why do you believe their self reported grandiose stats?

what they can't lie about is the cost of printing a magazine .. it had to be downsized.... only declining sales numbers could bring that about..

Thats the tell, a printing company printing less and less product.... their buisness is in decline...

nobody knows what the other numbers are for real.. but the demand for their product is in decline, or they wouldn't have made the cuts.

it's the only stat you can trust..

i was raised as a jw from the age of 7. i was df'd for apostasy in 1971 at the age of 23. it has been 42 years since i have had contact with any jehovah's witnesses, including my family.

last year i moved to tucson.

when i read that a district assembly was coming to town, and that it would be at the convention center only minutes from my house, i decided to check it out.

don't you have go out in service to be counted as a publisher? so if they wouldn't have lowered the minimum hours to be counted what would the real number of active ones be ..

so the numbers do lie .. so it's really not fair to say because we're out, we are biased to a decline .. since the numbers are skewed.. nobody really knows .. if they only counted people who went Door to Door not just, "When you were at work did you ever say the word Bible?"

isn't the lack of elders evidence of decline... I've heard from many who are in that it's an issue..

and... why didn't they double the magazines size .. instead of cut in half.. that's your proof, they are declining .. plus we all know they lie about their numbers..

Flashback to the sixties Seatle

so while making a you tube video of my dad today, i came across this in a dvd of home movies from way back, i didn't even know about it... originally shot on super 8 film, shot off screen with camcorder in 1992, with open mic, transfered to dvd in 2010 .. made to you tube in 2013.... check out the food service, without paper plates no less .. it's only a couple minutes on convention then, a little seatle conventions were a family vacation when we were growing up ... .

so a little more on the recording .. like I said it's shot with a camcorder off a sceen with an open mic, I was playing music through a boom box.. to drown out the projector noise and add something so it's not just a silent movie..

The music is Robbie Robertson .. get this "Hell's Half Acre" .. I remember when I was recording this in 1992, at times, the music in sync with the film..

there was no planning just roll tape and go.. it just worked out .. it dawned on me today I was sing "Hell's Half Acre" in my head .. I'm like was that on the assembly video .. came home and checked .. sure enough it is ..

How ap pro po , HELL'S HALF ACRE... that what conventions are....LOL

oh and Good thing I made the effort to preserve a little history 21 years ago.. which at that time was 22 years from original filming.. 43 years later shared on JWN.. wow

Dad says he was Baptised at that assembly... " Worst Decision I Ever Made " is how he puts it...! LOL

the big problem is a doomsday cult needs an end date.. they have spent them all .. so how do they create the urgency..

they people who run the propaganda printing company are in a catch 22 in this regard.. they can't just keep saying soon .. the last special GB talk I went to in 1984 .. It's highlight was, after a laundry list of how bad the world is, " the govening body sees no way this system will last past the turn of century!'

end date .... everyone in audience ooh ahh.. urgency inserted ..

Now they say I don't care if it doesn't come in my life time.. I just want to worship 8 men who run a printing company .. till I die!! hardy a reason to go out in service..
