You would return to Jehovah's Witnesses if...
by Shawn10538 insomeone else suggested this so i just figured, ok let's do it.. 1. all present jws died and i became the sole leader of the entire religion.
2. then i would dissolve the religion and burn every last memory of it ever existing.
3. all books would be burned, all buildings destroyed.

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

I hope your wrong Alfred. Give her time. As you and I know, it takes a huge amount of mental and emotional adjustment to come to terms with what you're learning. It took me 6 months to read and research before I made a decision. Dealing with the anger, anxiety and hurt of being shunned is still an ongoing process even after 4 years.
We're here for you whenever you're ready to post again MsGrowing girl20 xx

Gay and proud for a year
by TimothyT inwow... i cant believe it has now been a year since i accepted that im gay.
it has been the best year of my life for so many reasons.
i have met my boyfriend who i adore, i have stopped lying to myself, my family and my friends, i am doing really well financially and spiritually, and of course, i am no longer a part of a deluded and oppressive religion.. it feels so good to be free!

Is my marriage worth saving?
by sacdfan inlong story - will make it short - i was a jw for 4 years.
hy husband took to it straigt away and has been a jw for 20 years - we were both converted by one of his workmates.
our 4 kids were all baptised jws and thankfully 3 escaped (2 disfellowshipped, one fading) - so my eldest son is still in with his dad.

Many words from djeggnog and make of them what you will. But remember one thing. No matter what you and your husband believe, he is WRONG not to put his marriage first, but the fault lies with both the WT society AND your husband.
WT is putting pressure on him to "put the kingdom first" (an often used phrase when they want the followers to do more). Couple this with his desire to be approved by the congregation and his delight in finding the "truth", leads him to enthusiastically spend his time doing what they want him to do. He believes that if he does this, it'll ensure his survival into the paradise earth.
Basically you are losing your husband, not to a religion or to God, but to a cult.
Yes you're marriage is worth fighting for. Whenever you do spend time together, reminisce, laugh, bring him back to you, reclaim him. Fight.
Good luck x

Do you think she's crying due to homesickness? Or maybe the strained relationship with her mother? Her sadness might not be JW related.

Hi Msgrowinggirl and a really BIG welcome to you. I don't know you but I feel so PROUD of you for having the courage to post your concerns here.
jojojunfan is reading In Search of Christian Freedom by Ray Franz and I suggest you read this next too. It'll answer many of the questions you're wrestling with or will give you the tools to research further.
But please take it slow dear sister. You're on an emotional rollercoaster and the ride has only just started. xx
