.. and like I say, just a thought, no need to accused or pointing at anyone.

Just a Thougth - Since all say they are the only truth, why not choose the best salvation plan?
by DilemmaGF ini was thinking, since all the christian denominations (mainstream; unitarians; modalism; jws etc) claim themselves/their teaching to be the only truth, it would easier to make a decision to choose the best salvation plan and if it turn out to be wrong, minimize the severity of the consequences :).
since i only know about the trinitarians (i'm in) and the jw, i think the trinitarian plan of salvation would much better than the jw.
salvation by grace, not works (true, i don't i can ever live up to god's standard), and i got to go and stay in heaven.

I was thinking, since all the Christian denominations (mainstream; unitarians; modalism; JWs etc) claim themselves/their teaching to be the only truth, it would easier to make a decision to choose the best salvation plan and if it turn out to be wrong, minimize the severity of the consequences :)
Since I only know about the Trinitarians (I'm in) and the JW, I think the trinitarian plan of salvation would much better than the JW. Why? Salvation by grace, not works (true, I don't I can ever live up to God's standard), and I got to go and stay in heaven. As compared to the JW, only 144,000 can go to heaven and the rest will have to stay in paradise on earth.
If the Trinitarian doctrine is wrong, then what will happen is that I'll be ressurected and kill by God at Amageddon - that's it! I'll die a horrible death and that's it, because according to the JW, there is no hell, God is too loving to put people in hell (by the way if He is that loving, then why have to ressurect the dead just to kill them again???)!! On the other hand, if I choose the JW's doctrine, and it happen to be the wrong one, my punishment will be severe - eternal torturing and suffering in HELL.
So I guess I am in the right boat. What say you?

Forgiving. Surely a limit even for Christians?
by punkofnice inok. so i admit i'm stumped.
i left the jws and became christian and have been going through bouts of atheism, agnostisism and back.
that isn't something i want to delve into right now.. i remember seeing on the tv how a couple had their daughter murdered and they said that as christians they forgave the killer.. eh?.

Forgiveness is not about whether that person deserves to be forgiven or not, but it is more about yourself - forgiveness is good and healthy for your mental/spiritual health. Grudges and bitterness will eventually damage you. Forgiveness is about letting go of the pain/anger/hurts/bitterness the person had cause you, not about letting forgeting what the person had done to you. I guess it is up to God tp judge/punish the person.

Pure evil!! They use the Bible to condemn the members to every single bit!

He's Trying to get me to come back to the fold...by admitting the faults of the Watchtower
by PYRAMIDSCHEME inmy firend (who is an elder) recently sent the email below trying to get me to come back.
he freely admits the faults of the wt and even goes on to say that even if they did not have gods holy spirit, he felt they would still have gods blessing as the one true religion.
i thought i would get your thoughts on this as it really is (sadly) delusional.

"Disobedience is very costly"
by TOTH inwow, i had some words with my father in law.
over the years i have always had such a profound respect for him because he used to speak from the heart and used the bible to express his view, but lately he has become more and more "wt-ish" with his comments.
my wife has been suffering from severe pain for years due to injuries suffered at the hands of her 1st husband.

This is the teaching about disobedience according to an "apostate" church's teaching (the one I am from):
When you disobey God, you walk out of the boundary of His wills and protection. Which means you open the door for the Devil to attack or trouble you, that's why you get into a lot of troubles. But if you realize your mistake and cry out to Jesus, He will always be there for you (2 Chronicle 7:14). Never in my life was I taught to hate and loath my brothers and sisters in Christ who left the church or back slided. I was taught to pray for them and to talk to them in kindness and love. Parents are taught to show loving kindness to their children regardless how hard and rebellion the kids can be, because "one day they will realize how much you love them, which reflecting the love of our Father in Heaven".
And yet the WT calls us apostate....

In this modern information age, don't JWs browse the Internet for information at all?
by DilemmaGF ini am just curious, there are tonnes of information about the wt and the stories of its hypocrisies in the internet.
are they aware of all these?
or they just obediently go to the www.watchtower.org only, and never feel curious enough to click on other link that mentions about jw, wt etc.....

No wonder my boyfriend got so annoyed when I innocently sent him some links from the "apostate" websites :) Now I understand...
