  Jehovahs Witnesses and Entitlement

  i've noticed an attitude among the friends that they feel that they are owed something by society.

  example: at the last meeting one of the elders gave a talk about how "the system" is getting harder and harder to make a living.. .

  i know its a recession out there, but to blame satan the devil for your economic woes is kinda harsh don't you think.

  What are the levels/ranks within the Jehovah's Witnesses

  growing up as jw it was constantly drummed into us that we're not like churches having different classes (e.g.

  preists).

  however it is quite apparent that there are ranks within the jehovah's witnesses.. this is the list i have so far.

  The Seat of Motivation : The fake JW heart

  i realised the other day how weird it is that jw's are taught that the heart and mind are seperate.

  by enlarge the mind is satans world, its influence, your questions, doubts and unreliable thinking... all this takes place there, the heart is your seat of motivation, its what interacts with god when he opens it up, its where you talk to him from and where your good and bad motives arise (contradictory) but your heart cant be trusted (contradictory.).

  either way, the jw's potray a seperation of heart and mind.

  I do have to temper my emotions by employing critical thinking skills. I am fairly emotional and if I don't rein in my heart with my mind, I say and do lots of stupid, hurtful, silly, and outright ridiculous shit.

  i am a member of narpo (national association of retired police officers) - uk.. .

  it seems that hardly a day goes by without an e-mail from my regional branch with details of yet another brother or sister officer who has died.

  It seems that many LEOs tend to become pretty cynical after having to deal with the worst society has to offer. This tendency has to make it hard to re-engage after retirement. I actually have spoken to a few LEOs over the years and wonder how it is they can keep from becoming total assholes considering the depths of depravity and violence they are forced to deal with day to day. I am glad you are doing well.

  i am a believer in god and would like to assure those other believers on this forum that no disrespect is intended by this post.

  i just found it amusing and so am sharing it :.

  he had only one major publication.it wasn't in english.it had no references.it wasn't published in a refereed journal.some even doubt he wrote it by himself.it may be true that he created the world, but what has he done since then?his cooperative efforts have been quite limited.the scientific community has had a hard time replicating his results.he never applied to the ethics board for permission to use human subjects.when one experiment went awry he tried to cover it up by drowning his subjects.when subjects didn't behave as predicted, he deleted them from the sample.he rarely came to class, just told students to read the book.some say he had his son teach the class.he expelled his first two students for learning.although there were only ten requirements, most of his students failed his tests.his office hours were infrequent and usually held on a mountain top.no record of working well with colleagues.

  my family (wife and teenage kids) and i awakened to the true nature of the wt society a couple years ago and are fairly well faded now.. .

  my son attends high school with a couple of jws, one of whom is an elder's son and an ardent true believer.

  let's call him "con".

  Anybody donate blood and send in the "You're Welcome Watchtower" card yet?

  just curious if anyoner has.. you can download the ajwrb brochure from ajwrb.org, and send in the page that is pre-addressed to the watchtower society, and basically says that you have donated blood and that the blood you donated will likely be transfused int a jw saving their lives.

  it then suggests a "thank you" might be in order from ther watchtower since your own life blood was sacrificed so that jws could be saved.. i think this is a powerful action.

  i hope the wt gets lots of these cards, and i can't wait until someone posts the "thank you for the thought" (cuz we all know that's how they are going to word it right?

  I onder if there are thousands of ex jw's that donate. I will consider it next time I do it though!
