when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.
she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.
I think she's latched on to Jan 1st because that's when the new magazine editions start. Some seem to have misinterpreted what was actually said (cutbacks, reduced magazines, focusing on interested people only) to them changing their message to one of warning.
This will have hilarious results. Cant wait to see what happens.
I mean, it's not as if the Watchtower leaders are getting senile or anything...

the answer was always—-these people were affected by the demons and they needed counseling!.
I used to love hearing demon stories. They were always happening to "a friends mother" or "my mothers, cousins, aunt" never a first person account.
My sister claimed she saw a demon on two occasions. Funny thing is she never mentioned it until i claimed that demons dont exist. Then my older brother often told the elders that he heard voices and saw demons all the time. One time they even told him who would win the Eurovision song contest. I mean, all that power and knowledge and they giving my brother the Eurovision results. Sure, it was within the last 2 minutes when Finland were 20 points clear but still...
The elders and my family lapped it up. Here was conclusive proof that the demons did in fact exist, and therefore God must exist too.
The fact that a year later my brother was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic didn't seem to change the mind at all on the matter.

but at the assembly this past weekend, my ears were pricked for two experiences of two sisters dedicating themselves to pioneering.
this was probably because i was extremely freaked out by both of them.

Notice how they can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave. Sound familiar? (cough-disfellowshipping-cough)
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. Stickinarut2 is right, the elders have no control over you as an unbaptized person. If you're drawn to this religion because you think it's "nice" then you're not in the right religion. JWs do that to draw you in to hope you get baptized. It's not like that once you're a member.
If you're drawn to it because you think it's "the truth" then that's another matter. But, clearly, you dont think it's true in all aspects because they dont accept you as a trans person.

Sorry to say it but there is no way they will accept you as a trans woman. The congregation is nice to you, and they will be while you're studying, all of us on here can confirm that that goes once you're baptised.
BUT you can't ever get baptised as a JW as a trans woman - they simply won't allow it.
They can't stop you attending by meetings as infinitum as a non baptised person. That's your best bet if you want to stay.

after clicking on the page i saw a close-up pic to realize it was a friend of mine from 15 years ago at bethel.. when this guy arrived at bethel he was big time.
he was in early 20’s and had given up a job as an engineer at what was one of the largest electronics companies in the world.
He paid her just to talk? Hell, he could've paid me. And idve given him a good seeing to as well 😉
i learned today that a "brother" from my former congregation has been arrested.. the rumor mill was in overdrive (you know how the jws are), my ex-wife and a pimo member filed me in just an hour ago.
both gave 95% the exact details so i take it as legit.... when i used to do sound desk there was a brother in his late 40s/early 50s who for some reason always had a tan and always sat at the back of the hall.
he was a loner, i used to feel sorry for him so would make small talk while i was setting up the sound desk and he was sitting there.

(Im very tempted to mention his name but i wont, but this is in Liverpool, England).
From what i remember he was quite friendly with an old couple that had adopted their 13yo granddaughter and 8yo grandson. Always got a lift to the meetings with them, lift to the conventions etc. Well it turns out that he went into hospital last week for some tests, stayed there a few nights. He called Brother so-and-so (the grandfather) and asked if he'd go into his flat to feed and walk his dog. The brother is happy to. Next thing you know he's called the police after he found some "items" in his flat involving the13yo girl. Im not sure exactly what all of the items were yet, but both my sources tell me he found a letter, some adult photos that had had the girls head photoshopped on top.
The girl is in bits terribly ashamed and has told her grandparents that he buys her things and they share secrets.
I'll update the more i hear but this is the 2nd pedo in that congregation since i left just 2 years ago.

i find it almost too difficult to bear.
my mother now in her 80's does not miss up on an opportunity to preach.
in fact most of the time the opportunity does not exist but she mentions something anyway.. she is so blind it's embarrassing.
My mum is 60... not that old really, but she is exactly the type of person who'd swallow a pill if the GB dished them out and told her they're from God. To be fair, she grew up in foster homes and found "the truth" when she was 15 and it basically became her family. She'll never leave.
She also see's nothing wrong with preaching to grieving families in hospitals about the resurrection and "they're sure to get one because they died before Armageddon". She's perfectly at ease standing at a JW cart right next to a homeless person asking for spare change or food and has JW Broadcasting on literally every waking moment.
I think these people are better off in the cult. The real world would eat them alive and she seems genuinely content. It's just a shame that one son is dead to her (me) and she has no pension or savings to rely on when she retires this year.
