Yh this was confusing for me when I was learning German. To be safe I stick to saying the time like a 24hr clock, like "one thirty" (ein dreißig) or "two thirty" (zwei dreißig) instead.

“Do You Know the Time?” From WT Sept 2018
by skin inthere is a one page article in the current wt study mag, sept 2018 pg 22 with the title “do you know the time?”.
in that article it describes a number of different ways you can say the time is 1:30. it goes on to say “there are even places where that same time could be expressed as “half two,” meaning 30 minutes before two”.
what i would like to know is this, where in the world does “half 2” mean 1:30?

Films with nudity
by neat blue dog ini guess every jw has a different conscience on the matter, and i don't believe any jw publications have ever specifically mentioned nudity in film as being off limits.
of course genitals are out of the question because that's usually relegated to r movies which most good jws don't view.
female toplessness is condoned but not spoken about, as most jws i know have seen titanic and many own it.

Are you sure he didn't know what a naked women looked like until he was 30, even the pompous elders that will counsel you and tell it's a sin to shoot one off every now and then knew what a naked women looked like well before they were 30
Wont go into too much detail, but he didn't know what a vagina looked like. He thought it was like a belly button under the torso exactly in the middle.

In my mums house everything above was banned. Including ass shots for comedic purposes, breastfeeding women on medical documentaries and even animals mating.
She took my younger brother out of sex ed in school so he didn’t know what a naked woman even looked like until he was 30!
I got my sex education through porn. Bad that innit?

Just read it. That's gotta be the shortest and least informative bio I've ever read. The other GB members got at least 2 pages worth of story.
No story of how he met his wife, who his parents were, any struggles he experienced. Nothing.
Also, it's actually kinda sad. Both he and his wife have devoted their youth to the cult and been moved from pillar to post regularly.

It is strange, no latino, asian or african member of GB. Only white, male and to much food.
Well there is Ken Hird. You remember Ken? The one who told us all that "scientists say the brain capacity for a woman is much smaller than a mans. This shows that she is just not equipped for the role of headship."
He doesn't say who these "scientists" are, when this was said or cite the research (if there is any). He forgets that they used to say that about black people.

Mine is the Roman emperor Augustus.
My name "The Pale Emperor" is twofold:
The Pale Emperor was a moniker given to Constantius Chlorus Roman emperor from 293 to 306. He was the first emperor to openly claim that there is no god. He suffered from some sort of blood disorder which gave him a pale complexion.
The Pale Emperor is also the title of a Marilyn Manson album. I got into Marilyn Manson about the same time I started to wake up from the cult and this album in particular was a comfort to me.

It's My Birthday Today

or, my 3rd birthday that i've actually acknowledged seeing as i was raised in the cult.. i woke up this morning to my 4yo running into my room and wishing me a "happy birthday daddy!".
i got a card from my ex-jw brother and i bought myself a birthday gift - a new 50mm lens for my nikon camera (photography is a hobby i took up since leaving the cult).. i dont know about you guys, but birthdays is still something i have to make a conscious effort to acknowledge and enjoy.

My daughter is the only child in my entire family that's ever celebrated birthdays and Christmas and still cant quite get her head around the fact that I never did it as a kid.
I do wonder if today jolts any memories for my uber-JW family?

Tag teams of Cart Sitters
by days of future passed inone sunday, we took our dad out for lunch.
since it didn't open till 12:00, we were going to have to kill time.
this restaurant is situated with other businesses around a small park and when we parked, we noticed there was a cart to the right in the park.

I've recently seen a few who dont even have a cart. Just standing there holding a magazine to their chests cover facing.
It looks very odd.
If I didnt know who they were I still wouldn't stop, it looks like they're activists selling newspapers.

Unfortunately, the majority of those who vote LEAVE are the older generation - the very ones who'll be dead in a few decades leaving my generation and that of my children living in the mess they voted for.
Leaving the EU is a step backward in my opinion. Stupidest idea I've heard outside of a Watchtower.
