This was cringe worthy, and yet hilarious to watch. I'm sensing that this was a person studying with JWs because she's so bad at defending the very basics.

are the witnesses now considered "clergy " ?
by lancelink inyears ago when i was a jw, one of their cornerstone teachings was that they were nothing like babylon the great.
i remember being taught that the witnesses not using any type of clergy class distinction was proof that they had the right religion.. well, recently we had this article in the local paper, and an elder who was no doubt the presiding overseer tried to use the clergy class excuse to get out of answering questions regarding a child abuse case.
here is the statement that really got to me.

Watchtower has always desired to be Clergy.
Check the articles, they always say that they have no “PAID clergy”
Thats correct, lastmanstanding. It's a phrase that slips by the rank and file when they say it. They have a clergy, just no paid clergy.

No Need To Preach In Every Country Anymore
by pale.emperor inspeaking to a pimo from my hometown yesterday.
he told me that in the watchtower study (10 nov 2019) regarding “the great tribulation” the elder on the platform said that there’s no need for jws to preach in every country in order to fulfil the prophecy, and therefore the org has already fulfilled that prophecy.
and that there’s nothing else left to wait for now but for “the great tribulation” to come.. gasps of delight came from the audience.. has anyone else heard this?

If I was still PIMI, I'd be terrified
by neat blue dog injust looking at the pictures in tomorrow's wt study makes me think of the nightmares i used to have as a child.
and nowadays the pictures are sometimes more realistic, so for any who are truly mentally in, this has a terrible effect on them and even their life choices.
looking in as a pimo or pomo it seems almost comical that adults would believe in this sci-fi bible fan-fiction, but it's not funny when we remember that all ages of the r&f are being manipulated by the gb by these cheap and evil means.. .

I have to wonder why they’re ramping it up to the max lately. Wonder what they’ll do in another few years when we’re still here with no Armageddon? You can only keep this up so long.

How it will end for the believers
by iankiptoo intoday, many signs have been fulfilled showing that we are in the end times and much has been said in regards to armageddon, tribulation... etc but little in regards to what happens to those who believe and what transitions them to be free and escape from all that to the final destination.
this is my focus and message is based on that.in creation, there were two trees at the centre of the garden of eden and we are familiar with what happened;man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and then we are familiar with the ramifications afterwards.
now through jesus christ, the events that will lead to the end for those who believe are in 3 stages1.knowledge will be increased (daniel 12:4)there will be a transition, knowledge will transition from that of the tree of knowledge of good and evil to also include knowledge of the tree of life and this brings with it a transformation that will bring in the second phase2.healingthe knowledge/belief/faith will bring about spiritual transformational healing, also practical knowledge i.e.

What was your favorite video game?
by LoveUniHateExams ini've never been that big on video/computer games but i used to have a ps2 and my absolute fav game was star wars battlefront ii, released by pandemic in 2005.. you could choose to play as three different classes of soldier and fight for the rebels, the imperials, the republic or the battle droids.
as you played and gained points by killing the enemy, you could unlock a fourth and fifth class of soldier.
you could also play as a hero or villain - such as darth vader, luke skywalker, princess leia, etc.. there was something absolutely awesome playing as darth vader and cutting down or force-choking rebel soldiers on the tantive iv.. .

Golden Eye on the N64 was awesome. I remember buying it in secret and having to play it with the volume on very low or no volume at all.
Red Dead Redemption. A free roaming Wild West game. I've yet to play the second installment of this as I no longer own a console.
Grand Theft Auto IV. A game my ex-brother in law and I enjoyed while still JWs and used to help eachother out on certain bits but never mentioned it to the brothers in the congregation. I remember even my then-wife used to enjoy going with the hookers then beating them up and taking the money back!
Civilization 4. You start as stone age people on a patch of land then gradually the map grows and your society evolves into modern day. Depending on the choices you make depends on the politics you end up. I once ended up with Facism! (Well, I learned from the best I guess?)

Hypocritical Tyndale video
by neat blue dog inat a recent midweek meeting, a short documentary about translator william tyndale was shown.
it begins with this statement about his death:.
"his crime?
-

I remember the unofficial idea that Tyndale was, essentially, a Jehovah's Witness. I think in actual fact, he'd distance himself from Watchtower... to put it mildly.
That has been said at meetings, but then say that because they are under law it can not be done.
Yes, there was always some "comedian" JW in the audience who'd comment about wishing they could stone us to death or something.

The Evolution Of The Watchtower Cult
by pale.emperor insince waking up from the cult i've been curious about where the cult is going and how will it end up?
will it fizzle out or become a little fringe "religion" like plymouth bretheren or the shakers?.
we've already seen the cult evolve from:.

Since waking up from the cult I've been curious about where the cult is going and how will it end up? Will it fizzle out or become a little fringe "religion" like Plymouth Bretheren or the Shakers?
We've already seen the cult evolve from:
- CT Russell being the faithful and discreet slave
- Worshiping Jesus and Jehovah
- Vaccines discourages, blood transfusions lauded
- Rutherford being the faithful and discreet slave
- Worshiping only Jehovah
- Blood transfusions banned, vaccines lauded
- Blood transfusions revised to "fractions" and a conscience matter
- The 144,000 being the faithful and discreet slave
- Armageddon before 2000
- Armageddon within an overlapping generation
- The governing body being the faithful and discreet slave
- The governing body helpers being around to run the show when the GB are "in heaven"
Of course, these are all passed off as "refinements" or "revised understandings" but really what we're seeing is a "religion" that doesnt know it's ass from it's elbow reacting to the times.
My personal prediction is that we'll see another splinter. Either some GB members will start their own cult or when the GB are dead and the GB helpers get to run things they'll blame the old failings on the current GB of Lett, Morriss and Co.
- CT Russell being the faithful and discreet slave
