Desperate 67 year old JW sister looking for a mate at Eharmony!

few minutes ago, i was at eharmony.

one lady said at her profile that she is passionate about serving jehovah.

she is like 67 years old!

Why is she looking for a partner? How selfish of her to be thinking of herself instead of Gods Organization.

Here's the kind of thing she should be thinking:

"If you are looking for a new spouse, you also need to face the fact that you will never date and marry in this present system of things. Why not? Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years. If you are in thinking about marrying, it means at least two or more years to find, date and finally marry. But where will this system of things be by that time? It will be well on the way toward its finish, if not actually gone!"

Why did Satan tempt Eve with a talking snake when he could have materialised as another human to tempt her ?

since the angels that followed satan could take on human form and even have sex and bear offspring to females of earth why would satan not have used this avenue instead of talking through a snake .?

which really makes no common sense ?.

why wouldnt eve question how a snake could talk?

There was an old brother from my congregation who was previously in The Worldwide Church Of God. He said that they taught that Eve likely saw the snake eat the fruit first, then it started talking to her, which would have made her think eating from it gave the person powers.

Do JW members follow any directive from GB blindly?

following from the worldwide campaign to send letters to the russian government: topic covered here.. i started observing a scary trend, i got around 100 messages on multiple messaging apps, facebook and other social media posts encouraging all jws to send letter to the russian government protesting on the ban with the hope they will overturn it.. what struck me is that all are doing it and encouraging others to do it.

so, what if the gb via jw.org request something like street protests, civil disobedience, to the extreme of voting for or against a particular law or fighting (far-fetched).. what would the jw membership do, not the awakened one?

in addition, i feel this exercise exposes the awakened ones.

I know my mum does.

If my mum was told that black is white and the sky is green she'd be convinced that her eyes are defective and the GB are correct.

I've also witnessed quite a few times that she literally forgets old light and immediately replaces it with the new light and denies that the old light ever existed. She's that indoctrinated.

One quote from her that sums it up from a few days before i was announced as DFd "It doesn't matter what we think. All's that matters is what the Governing Body say. So we want to do what they tell us so we can get through armageddon".

You know what i think?... i think the image made of different metals, the feet of iron and clay, the ten toes, the mountain hurling a stone to destroy the image are all just the crazy dream of an old man in his twilight years after having a heavy meal and a late night of praying.

Is it possible that someone who gives really gushing comments might still be awake?

of the 50% of congregants who regularly participate, many of them give gushing answers about how appreciative they are, how wonderful jw.org is and so on, which makes me think nobody in my congregation is awake.

but maybe it's possible for someone who comes across as super spiritual to be awake?

i can't see how, though, as surely it's emotionally draining to fake it like that?

This happens in North Korea, as it happened in Jim Jones's cult in Guyana, and in Nazi Germany. Come across as a "true believer" so you'll be left alone. Hey, you might even start believing it if you do it often enough.

Do You Know Any JWs That Were Wealthy AFTER They Became Witnesses?

the only witnesses i knew that had money were those that either had family businesses or had money before they got into the religion.

I personally knew 2 who became millionaires while in "the truth". Both were elders. One owned a company that manufactures and sells sheds, the other was an investment banker who retired at the age of 45.

Just did some research. This has "apparently" been the teaching since 2012. But I'm 95% sure it wasn't actually the teaching back then and they've edited the JW online library. Anyone still got an old CD Rom?
