  Explosion on London Train

  there was an explosion on a london tube train at parsons green station at 8:20 bst this morning.. there are pictures online of a plastic bucket that seems to be the source.

  witnesses are reporting seeing a large wall of flames coming through a packed train carriage.

  people are now being taken to ambulances with significant burns..

  i was told this when i was an aspiring jw, aka unbaptized publisher.

  the above explanation didn't make sense to me then and it never did make sense throughout my jw career.

  over time, it appeared to me the real purpose of field service time reporting was to gauge one's spirituality and for the ceo *cough* co to make sure the elders were on top of things during his visit..

  Was i the only JW that found the ministry a compulsion? A drudge? Waste of time and a burden?

  Walking past the 2nd school on a Sunday where all the elders and their families were eating lunch, hoping i could walk past quick enough that they wouldnt shout "why arnt you going out on the ministry?"

  The jw mindset

  when i woke up i got my critical thinking i lost it when i was five and now i have it at thirteen oh and how i missed it.. something i noticed is how with the hurricanes hitting yes do say "oh u feel bad for the people there".but i hear is "we know this is just a sign of the end.when i'm over thinking i wish i could help but nope it's just a sign of the end.

  A hurricane is just a sign that a hurricane formed ... like they do pretty much every year.

  Correct. A lot of humans seem to think this world belongs to them, when in fact we're just one of millions of species that are living on it for a time. Eventually humans wont exist and the world will still be here and there will still be earthquakes, hurricanes and tidal waves. From natures standpoint it's neither "good" nor "bad". Nature is cruel. Nature is beautiful. And Nature doesn't care.

  Help! Mike & Kim videos all being deleted by Youtube

  due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

  can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

  would hate to lose all those good videos!

  You only have to take a look at Mike & Kim's website to see how, although well intended, nutty they come across. Imagine sending this video and letter to colleges and universities unsolicited (like they encourage you to do):

  Few problems here that the little kids wont have figured out:

  1. It looks very nice up on that hill. Under that hill is thousands of bodies of rotting men, women and children that didnt become JWs.

  2. All those buildings that used to be on that very spot, where are they? You knocked them down? What did you do with the rubble? No electricity, no machinery. Did you scavenge for tools did you? Did it by hand?

  3. Clean clothes. Where did you wash them?

  4. The world has just survived an apocalypse. Where are you getting your fresh fruit and vegetables from?

  5. The kids are still the same age, so Jehovahs genocidal holocaust must have happened very recently. You're all happy that your schoofriends, workmates and non JW relatives are now birdfood? According to Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained you should have see "their eyeballs rot in their sockets" and "worms eat up their tongues". Not traumatized at all by that?

  6. Deranged nutters like Anthony Morris III, Joseph Rutherford and Fred Franz are, apparently, ruling alongside the tyrant JW version of Jesus up there in heaven. Is there a set guide for how tight your pants are? How long your skirt can be? How many children you can have? What sort of sex you can have? Pay no heed to Fred Franz though, he's always changing his mind.

  7. That blueprint you have to build your house. Who printed it? Where did the blue ink come from? Where are you living now if you dont have a house?

  8. It's all very well swinging in a tree with a monkey, Caleb, but that monkey can still die. So dont get too attached.

  just bear with me a little, just assumed that there is a creator or god.

  I don't believe in sin. I don't believe I'm born with sin.

  But I do have some kind of sense of right and wrong.

  Most if not all of my sense of right and wrong is covered by law, e.g. I believe that driving a car after drinking 10 pints is wrong - and it happens that this is illegal, too.

  I agree with LoveUniHateExams. Sin is an invention to keep people in line. Think about it, if you wanted to sell medicine to someone who wasnt even sick you'd need to convince them that they were sick and that you have the remedy. This is what religion does. In most religions they invented this idea of hell or eternal cutting off from God. The only way to not go there is do as i say. Keep them thinking that they're not worthy, that they're "dust", that they need God in their lives.
  

  There are things i consider immoral and abhorrent that are legal. And there are illegal things that i have no problem with. I use my own morality, common sense and empathy to guide me.

  I am my own God.

  Not a lot of young people

  i have look around and im counting 5-18 for young aka kids or teens we only have 4 includeing me that can think on there own and are teens.the only other kids there are 3 5 or to young to even think that there mom or dad are wrong on any thing.. just wanting to know if any if any one see this at a kingdom hall..

  Last congregation i was in there was over 20 kids under 18. The rest are 30+ and the majority are 70+. Those kids will wake up soon enough.
  

  But the congregation i was brought up in now has only 1 person in their 20s. Everyone else is old.

  Yoga for JWs

  i was chatting with my very jw pioneer mother (aged 65) and out of the blue she tells me she is sore from a particular pose she did in yoga class.

  "wait, what??

  " i say in my mind.

  When i was in there was a young sister that was into Yoga. Dont think she knew it was forbidden by Watchtower. I never said anything and she never mentioned it elders (why would she?).

  I cant sit through a single one of their videos. They do seem like really nice people but they also look and sound like exactly the WTs definition of "apostate". I think they come across and bitter and angry.

  Also, i think they're Christians now? <rolls eyes>

  This is so sad. She's so indoctrinated. See what this cult does!!

  My heart goes out to you.

  Im in a similar situation in that my mother tells people im dead. Her non JW acquaintances literally think i died. That's messed up right? I had to take the action of disowning myself from the family and i've been A LOT happier since doing that because it means i can move on.
