  two of which are life drawing and photography.

  i've been studying for almost two years now and have seen more nude men and women in our classes than i care to remember.. today in the photography studio i was working in with three others (two women, one man) we were told we had a new person modelling for us.

  Even when i was a JW i thought nothing of fine art nude. It annoyed me immensely when my parents or other uber JWs would see a nude and instantly thing "smut!"

  I do hope she comes back. Slowly planting seeds would be a nice gift for her.

  Today in the photography studio i was working in with three others (two women, one man) we were told we had a new person modelling for us. We're working on imitating Helmut Newton style shots (google his work if you dont know who he is).

  So the model turns up for a nude shoot. Nothing new. Then i recognize her. She's an active JW in a KH not too far from me. In fact, about 4 years ago me and my ex-wifes family did a demo in the convention with this girl and her family when she was 16. We played "the bad" non JW family, while she was in the "good" JW family. I dont think she remembered me (i have a beard now) but there she was talking about art and her day job (one of those pitiful self employed jobs that most JW sisters do). One of the girl photographers asked if she had a nice Christmas, she replied that she doesn't celebrate it! Before she could be asked why i interrupted and asked how long she's been modelling. She said only about a month and this is her first shoot of this kind. Apparently she's a friend of one of our regulars.
  

  All that aside she was a very good model and took direction well. WHY she was doing this i dont know given that she comes from a "strong" JW family and is married to a "good" JW guy. The studio, as far as im told, pays about £30 an hour and she was there 4 hours.

  Wonder if the husband knows? Clearly the elders dont. Im not getting involved she actually is a nice person.
  

  I mean, £120 cash in hand, no invoices... i suppose that could have come from her "dayjob" right?

  for general information i am now 19 years old, and living by myself.

  for the past 1 year (more like 1.5 years) i have been quietly fading out of the hypocrisy of this organization, but since i still live in the town i grew up in it has been hard, and filled with different challenges.

  This is a trick.

  Because you've not attended for a good while they cant treat you as a fully fledged JW.

  If you turn up to the JC, they can take that as you respecting the authority of the body of elders. If you dont show, they cant touch you.

  First of all, i'd write to them saying that you refuse to attend a JC and if you are announced from the platform as "no longer being a JW" you will proceed with legal action. Make yourself a fake solicitors letter and include it. They shit themselves. As you can see from page 86 of Shepherd The Flock Of God (elders guidebook) they're not even allowed to confirm that there even if a JC!!

  Why the meetings are boring and uninspiring

  each individual may have their own views as to why they feel the meetings are boring and uninspiring.

  in my case i find the midweek meeting so, because of the constant emphasis on pitching watchtower literature.

  its just monotonous and one big yawn.. i watch other christian faiths where they open up a chapter of the bible and discuss it's contents.

  Im surprised they never introduced a class for kids while the main meeting was going on. It's madness to think that infants and children are sitting there taking it in and understanding whats going on. I think back to my childhood in the KH and remember 2 hours of thinking up stories in my head, or thinking about what im going to do tomorrow. My parents wouldn't even let us draw in the meetings. I remember being about 7yo sitting in the Tuesday book study in a cold KH going through the Revelation book. Did i understand it? Nope! I used to just flick through it and look at the pictures.

  Apparently, the father of Bobby Kennedy's killer was accused of being a JW. Watchtower had to write a letter assuring the rank and file and he wasnt.

  What i think is rather childish though, is rather than simply stating that "he wasnt a JW", they take the opportunity to link other religions to:

  Bishara Sirhan, who has consistently denied reported of connections with Jehovah's Witnesses, insists he is Greek Orthodox.
  

  Look, i'd be the first to laugh at the suggestion that Watchtower society, for all it's faults, would be involved with anything like assassination. But in defending their position i wouldn't name other religions that have helped the Sirhan family. It'd serve no purpose. The religion of Sirhan's parents has no bearings on what the guy did.
  

  At least is resulted in some cancelled subscriptions anyway :)

  hi gang, i'm a single mother of an 8 month old baby boy.

  i've been df'd for over six years now.

  my parents are super dubs and most of my siblings are dubs (on paper - a couple have been inactive my entire life but still claim to believe) with the exception of a brother who was never baptized.

  We did allow them the time with the kids until the kids started coming home saying "Jehovah doesn't like that", "Jehovah doesn't like birthdays...Christmas".

  Same here. My 3yo daughter is secretly palmed off to my mother (who tells people im dead) by my ex-wife. At xmas time she randomly told me "Jehovah doesnt like Christmas". Fortunately, i acted surprised and said "doesnt he? well thats alright because i like it. Do you like it?" and she said yes. Now i say "it's ok, Jehovah's not real. He's just pretend".

  I think your boy would be better off without them. Think about it, they have a toxic belief system. If your boy ever did join the JWs (heaven forbid!) and then left they'd all drop him like a hot brick.
  

  My family haven't spoke to me in 2 years but nag my ex wife to see my daughter. She doesn't really like going there but my brother tells me she's been handing her over every couple of weeks. As long as the kid is with you more than the JWs i think you'll be ok provided you call bullshit on any JW crap they come out with. And reason with the child (something JWs wont do, allow critique and inquiry into their doctrine).

  Reading the above it looks like all non-Society approved websites are to be prohibited also. Do the R&F even realize this?
