Where do they say that? I would luv to see it.
one thing they never talked about at the assemblies was how many predictions they made in the pass about the so called end of the world.
predictions that never came to be.
i didn’t know it at the time and most jehovah’s witnesses didn’t know that charles russell (1852-1916), the founder, believed that christ had secretly arrived in the year 1874 and that he would establish the kingdom of god on earth in october 1914 russell based this prophecy on his studies of the bible and the great pyramid.

if in the wts earthly-paradise fantasy, the wolf won't eat no more the lamb and they will be the best friends, will human continue to kill lambs to eat?.
the earthly paradise is vegan?.
This is just another idiotic belief. Think of all the animals which have specialised features for eating meat. For example, the sabre tooth tiger (now extinct):
Are we supposed to believe that all these animals were created to eat grass/plants?
i'm at my quasi-thanksgiving dinner with relatives.
i hear a haunting sound from another room.
"is that a children's song?
I often think of all the people they told that paradise was "just around the corner." Over a hundred years of false predictions and what was the reward for serving Jehovah?
This:
3 questions i hit my jw mum with:.
first question: do you believe that god is love?
third question: do you think a god of love would choose to destroy me for not doing something i cannot do (be a jw) because i am not convinced rather than convince me beyond doubt?
By having the desire to be convinced of anything, you increase the likelihood of drawing incorrect conclusions. You certainly would be biased towards the prefered conclusion.
E.g. If I want to believe that my partner isn't cheating, I will be unable to see the evidence, even if its staring me in the eye.
during the book study which is basically a book all about the history of "gods organization" ©.
a paragraph that hit me like a ton of the proverbial bricks was this.... 9 first, jehovah’s servants came to have the proper view of the importance of god’s name.
faithful early bible students viewed the ransom arrangement as the bible’s main teaching.
Fun fact: Watchtower claims to only use the name Jehovah because "it's widely recognized in english." Not because it is close to the original name. Therefore, they use the name to appeal to man. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yOcoHukDIn8 skip to 1:34.
Scholars think that the original name might be Yahweh. However, there is no way to be sure. I also read that the reason why other bibles use the words "Lord" and "God" instead of Jehovah is because the people of the day thought that the actual name was too holy to mention. Hence, they would use Adonai (Lord) and not say the actual name.
The name Jehovah arised over time via mispronounciation etc.
reports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.
this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.
what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.
failed, false, particularly if you consider that wt doctrine stipulates that if you partake unworthily, there is no fall-back to the earthly hope. multiple millions of "non-wt-Christians" partook, during the millennia, unworthily.
Really? Where do they say that?

By now, 144,000 anointed would have died and gone to heaven since the 1st century. Thus, their doctrine is false. Consider below:
(Acts 1:15) "During those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (the number of people was altogether about 120) and said..."
(Acts 2:4) "and they all became filled with holy spirit and started to speak in different languages, just as the spirit enabled them to speak."
(Acts 2:41) "So those who gladly accepted his word were baptized, and on that day about 3,000 people were added."
(Acts 2:47) "At the same time Jehovah continued to add to them daily those being saved."
So in only one day 3120 were anointed with holy spirit and Jokehova anointed more and more daily. Given such a rate of anointing, then surely in one year, 144,000 would have been gathered. If we also add the thousands of anointed from Jokehova's Weeknesses since 1914 then we would surely have far more than 144,000.
Hence, it is plain to see that this is just another failed doctrine.
okay there has been lots of buzz about the feb 2017 wt where they say the governing body is not inspired nor infallible.
yet, they are still using the baptism questions.
the second one being... "do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directedorganization?".
wherease of course the phrase "spirit directed", means that the spirit directed us to find the right decision for the benefit of the preaching work in our office as ruling authority e.g. the spirit directed the GB lately in the decision to withdraw from New York and to invest in Warwick. [also not new]
Therefore, when Watchtower made the decision to coverup child sex abuse or to send home bethelites or to impose a ban on blood which kills many, they are being directed by holy spirit.
Wow! Thank you for such wonderful insight.
just thought we could have a concise thread listing the signs of a high control, or cult-like group:.
feel free to add to the list:.
the true sign of a cult-like group is:.
Its leaders instill irrational fears in their members as a means of control.
E.g. If you leave the Jehovah's witnesses, you will die in Armageddon.
why didn't god also reveal himself to the canaanites just as he did to moses in the burning bush so that the massacre/genocide of the canaanites could have been avoided?.
why didn't god also invite the native palestinians into his covenant, giving them the same laws he gave the israelites, and establish an egalitarian society where people of all races could live together in harmony?.
instead, he ordered his people to invade and slaughter the natives, killing them to the last man, woman and child, specifically instructing them to show no mercy to anyone under any circumstances.
Anak is a figure in the Hebrew Bible in the conquest of Canaan by the Israelites who, according to the Book of Numbers, was a forefather of the Anakim (Heb. Anakim) who have been considered "strong and tall," they were also said to have been a mixed race of giant people, descendants of the Nephilim (Numbers 13:33).
@Dis-Member:
I thought it was said that Nephlims were wiped out in the flood? How could the Israelites have met up with Nephlim descendants if the Nephlims were wiped out in the flood? This seems to be another bible contradiction.
