Getting yourself saved and born again doesn't require religion, it requires relationship. All the thief on the cross did was turn his head toward Jesus (ALONE) and ask. It was granted.

Having said that, you need fellowship. There are many bible believing Christian churches that are not "organized" into anything beyond their own local governance. Independent Baptist churches are a choice. Independent Bible Churches are another. Conservative Evangelical (Not New Evangelical) might be another choice. None of these are organized in the way we were all trained to think of organized. However they are controlled by Jesus because the individual members are born again and are inhabited by Jesus himself.

If you are really, really far from God, an entertainment type church that you can decompress in for a while until you are ready for the meat again might be a short term option. Just be wary, many are deeply compromised.

The desire of imperfect humans for attention and glory is dealt with by Jesus himself after getting saved. There are many Christians who respond to God's work of sanctification and lead without caring anything at all about so-called glory.

To get saved: Just tell God that you are not going to drive the ship anymore and turn the wheel over to him in faith. Make sure your faith is in Christ ALONE. I can't emphasize that enough. The last thing you want is to put your faith into something only later to find out that you were actually trusting in God PLUS someone or something else. You will get nothing in that case and you'll waste more of your time.

I will be praying for you as will my prayer group on Wednesday.

new thinking after reading Collosians

i read the book of collosians and now im really not sure whether the trinity concept is completely false.

maybe i need to read non-jw bible to make my decision.

even the nwt seemed to support the jesus was a manifestation of god to help mankind.

How can that be impossible unless you first deny God's omnipotence? But, if you do that .... he isn't God. Surely God with the creative powers of just the things that we can observe could be capable of this couldn't He?

In other words, what could an omnipotent God not be capable of? See the problem with your logic?

Jesus was omnipresent:

Jesus, as God was both speaking these words and was at the same time... in heaven.

This scripture "in heaven" appears in the majority text (99% of all NT Greek Texts) and was of course testified to by early christian writers prior to the very suspect Alexandrian texts of the 4th century:

Should We Worship Jesus?

there is one lord, one faith, one baptism.. jehovah and jesus are also both spoken of as savior.

this is true because even though there are two personalities, and jesus also possesses a human body, they both also share the same substance or essence of god.

this is similar to my son who shares 50% of my essence in dna.

Unbelievers make the mistake of assigning "belief" to ALL OF their philosophical opponents notions. The very nature of God .... as God and all the Omni's that that encompasses REQUIRES the much of his doings are not understood.... otherwise the person would be God.

What "believers" do know however is the FACT of God's existence (his spirit bears witness with our spirit after being born again) , and the daily acts of grace and mercy that he performs in their life. This is a KNOWING , not belief. Much of the HOW is not, and cannot be known.

The rather lenghty demands of Cofty on this thread are almost exactly the same as the Pharisees below:

A lot of people might simply think that these differences in theology are legitimate differences that Christians might disagree on. This particular issue is quite different. There are numerous NT references that address the few terms regarding the covenant that guarantees forgiveness of sins, ie, accepting the bread and wine, being born again like Jesus told Nicodemous, and being willing to say goodbye to even your own mother and father.

But the scripture that comes to mind that destroys the Watchtower shackles above is :

"Now to the man that works the pay is counted, not as an undeserved kindness, but as a debt. On the other hand, to the man that does not work but puts faith in him who declares the ungodly one righteous, his faith is counted as righteousness" - Romans 4: 4-5 (New World Translation)

In other words, if a person works for God in trying to do good... with salvation in sight, or in ANY WAY uses salvation as a motivational factor, then his hard work for God goes into a debt account. He is digging his own grave.

THIS IS NOT an issue that Christians can legitimately disagree on. The Watchtower might as well just go ahead and start selling indulgences .... because THAT IS JUST EXACTLY what they are really teaching when they say that your salvation is tied to the "work of God's kingdom". Read:

This is simply a gaseous emission from the pits of hell.

Your protestant "scholar" was an unsaved Unitarian Liberal who preached that the world should appease Hitler after his invasion of Czechslovakia. He didn't believe that "God was manifest in the flesh". Jesus forgave sins; only God can forgive sins.

And just look at the wonderful condition of the Unitarian Church today with their "absence of creed". It is utterly over run with sodomites. Likewise, Pope Leo x had young boys popping out of cakes at parties for him.

Bad doctrine = bad religion

Sound doctrine is easily distilled from scripture, which is what this thread is about. To cite Mr. Davies as anything near an orthodox christian authority is neither orthodox nor authoratative. Please stop trolling for goodness sakes.

Bingo! After Luther terrorized the Papacy and liberated millions from an illegal priesthood and sacradotal slavery to get God's love, the Papacy of the Watchtower has done the EXACT SAME THING just a few centuries later.

THEY get the "FREE GIFT" of Gods love and justification and the rest have to work for the "Papacy" to even have a chance at it.

It is high time for modern day "Luthers" to terrorize the Watchtower Papacy with the truth of God's word.

Discovering Gems By Examining Areas of Intensity

having completed only the 8th grade in school because it was seriously interrupting my marijuana usage needed to drown the pain of growing up with ever changing watchtower doctrines, rules, and predictions, i found that i needed unconventional areas of expertise to counterbalance my educational lack to get along life.

now, at age 49 ... having run numerous start-up multi-million doallar companies ... including my most recent that is only 24 months old, sometimes i reflect on what helped me where others more intelligent and more educated failed.. i learned early on that investigating areas of intensity in people/corporations/rhetoric etc.

could many times yield big pay-offs financially or otherwise.

Business, yes at first. The bible calls it the gift of discernment. I believe everyone is born with at least one spiritual gift.
